  1. Good day, My interview day is coming up soon and there are couple things i am not sure about, so please tell me if i understood everything correctly: 1) Security regulations says that its not allowed to bring your mobile phone with you, but if my memory is fine, i remember that at the entrance of the Consulate there are some lockers where i could leave my phone and bag, can anyone confirm if i am right? 2) if i understood correctly, i do not have to pay anything at the Consulate on the day of the interview, but later, when the visa is in the pasport( but i am not yet at the USA) i must pay the USCIS immigrant fee, is that correct? Thank you for your help, Natalia
  2. We got the visa in hand, and it came with a note saying we must pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee Online BEFORE we go to USA. We went online, did a lengthy registration process, and paid the fee. It shows up now as Case Status: Draft, Submitted, accepted, but hasn't been "optimized, nor closed" yet. Also it says Status Details: Your application/petition has been submitted and is pending review. For Case Summary it says: Status: case received Payment: Submitted. is this enough? Can we go ahead and buy her ticket to come to USA now? she wants to come ASAP (like in 2 days) But we wanna make sure we have done everything correctly and it seems their information on whether we have completed this step is not clear. The note says "You must pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Using ELIS after you receive your immigrant visa package from the Department of State and before you travel to the United States" In other reports I heard you could pay the fee after going to USA but I guess maybe that's different now.
  3. Fortunately, got my visa in 2 days. Now i have new set of questions...hehehe...the never ending question... 1. My case number in the visa seems like had 2 additional numbers in the end, is it normal? 2. Since i have already SSN, what should i do after POE? 3. When to apply Adjustment of Status or Removal of Conditions? (confused, sorry if my question is wrong) 4. When to Change my Name? 5. Should i pay the Immigrant fee before flying to the US? Any additional Infos are very much appreciated... AGAIN, THANK YOU ALL!!!! FROM US THE GRAVES!!!
  4. Everything went according to plan. My reams of paperwork paid off. Questions that were asked. To my wife: Who is your petitioner? Where are you going to live in the US? Who is Co-Sponsor? Where will your cosponsor? Are you going to work in the US? What kind of work? How many marriages have you and your husband had? Are you a member of the CCP? Where have you been with your husband? (Travel) Did you read the pamphlet? What was it about? Question for my stepdaughter: How old are are you? Favorite Subject in school? Where do you go to school? What are your hobbies? Easy interview according to the ladies? Now what do we do next? Is there anything we need to do before heading to the states?
