  1. Hey, Just got back from trying to get her second vaccine shot. We were told that we have to leave before the body check expires, it is good for 6 months(July in our case), and the visa expires a month after(Aug). So if we leave in Aug, we would have to get the body check again. Just wanted to share this.
  2. Ya so as long as I come back within 6 months as shown on visa, I am fine? Just want to make sure there isn't an expiration date on police record or medical that I have to be worried about. We are planning to travel before we head back home.
  3. Thanks guys, I appreciate the supports I got here. Received the visa today. Here are the timelines: 11/09/2012 DCF @ GZ 12/02/2013 P3 received 12/05/2012 Forms filled and sent back 01/27/2013 Received interview letter 02/18/2013 Documents intake 02/19/2013 Interview 02/26/2013 Visa received Total time: 3 months and 17 days, or 109 days. Quick question, we only have to worry about the expiration date on the VISA, correct? I remember reading somewhere that we should leave before medical report or police record expires, but I cannot find that reference anymore.
  4. Here you go, http://www.uscis.gov/immigrantfee I think it is new, it said " Any individual who on or after February 1, 2013 receives an immigrant visa package from a United States consulate or embassy abroad (including Canada and Mexico) must pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee." The officer took my job offer letter for some reason and did not give it back, but it doesn't matter I think I can explain to my employer.
  5. This time it took about 3 hours. 0730 arrived 0755 Started to let people in 0805 went up to 5th flooor 0810 wait in line for security check point 0820 pass check point, sit and wait to be called 1030 her number was called 1040 left Question asked: Who is the petitioner?Did you read the pamphlet (something about domestic violence)? What is it about? What does your husband do for a living in the state? Why apply for immigration if both of you are in China? (After she answered that I work in China)What does he do for a living? Can I see the job offer letter?Relationship to co-sponsor on I-864?Have you been to the states?Have you lived in any other countries before? Then she was told to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee of 165 USD online ASAP to avoid delay on greencard.
  6. Guys, Just got back from the documents in-take. It took about 2.5 hr. They took I-864 of meI-864 of my co-sponsor notarized copy of marriage certificatenotarized copy of police recordnotarized copy of birthmedical reporthad my wife signed the DS230 part 2.She was asked: Where was this filed? Is this your first marriage?Any children?Who is your petitioner? What is the name of your petitioner? When did you get married? Can you speak English? What do you do for your living? What does your husband do for a living?Ever been to the states?Who is the co-sponsor on the I-864?They didn't take my domicile evidences: I have a job offer letter, bank/credit card records, my driver license, and they also did not take our photos as dnoblett mentioned.
  7. Guys, Just thought of something, about photographs of us, are we supposed to have two sets, one for document intake, one for interview? Or just one set to bring on the interview day? Thanks.
  8. I read through a lot of old threads here and got myself prepared. Good luck!
  9. Thanks guys, noted! Bring both copies and originals for document intake, let them have the copies. Bring the originals for the interview. We are applying for CR1.
  10. For us it was, 12/05/2012 - P3 sent 01/27/2013 - P4 received Adn we did the medical at GZ.
  11. Congrats! Hope our interview will be as smooth.
  12. I'd like to ask some questions about the document intake, the packet didn't go too indepth about the process. The document intake starts at 12:30pm, is there any reason for us to get there like 10am and wait in line? About how long will it that on that day? We are turning in our originals that day, including the passports? Will they give back the documents they took during the interview so my wife can use them for the questions? Will we get any of the originals back? Aside from the passports? The interview is getting closer so we are nervous about what could go wrong.
  13. Thanks dnoblett. Fast and informative response as always.
  14. Thanks guys. First day is for documents intake, then the second day when she goes in, is she supposed to bring anything? I remember reading from visajourney that we should keep the documents organized for the interview. But how can we be sure they will be in the same order after we turned it in? I have a co sponsor for I-864, and I have 3 years of his tax return, but I only have 2 years of my own, should I write a letter to explain why I am missing a year? or is that no important?
  15. Thanks! Any idea on how to show that we live together? We do not have anything other than mails showing the same mailing address. Can't think of anything that will help, we don't really take pictures at home, but even if we did, I am not sure how the officer will know that we live there together.
