  1. Hi All, While searching the forum for other information, I discovered that I completely neglected to file an I-865 when we moved! I was sure to file the AR-11 for my wife, but apparently I need to do one for myself as well, since I'm her sponsor. We moved back in October. Days after we moved, we filed her AR-11. She has her 2-year GC and we are nearing the two-year mark and are preparing to do the AOS and I-751. How badly have I screwed up in unknowingly not filing an I-865? Something to worry about? Should I just be sure to take care of that on Monday? Any insight is appreciated. Also, for #4 in the I-865 form, Effective Date of Change of Address, I should use the date we actually moved to the new address, despite that being more than 90 days ago, right? I forgot how anxiety-inducing immigration stuff can be, I managed to forget about it since we came to the US. Now I remember this familiar feeling of panic. Thank you for any insight!
  2. Hi, everyone , I live here in United States more than 6 years , and I have my 10 year green card, I and my husband moved into our new home, I am wondering if I need to notify uscis my address change? Thanks
  3. We moved again and I need to fill a change of address form with the INS. I figure I better get this done before we file for the 10 year green card. What is the form I need to file and where do I find it? Bubba
  4. Hello, It has been a long time since I have posted anything here on Candle. I have come here to try and get some "correct" information about updating addresses on both a I-130 petition...... as well as for my wife who is a green card holder living here in the states. The more I read on the USCIS - the more I get confused. Here is what I need...... Our address here in the states has changed and needs to be reported (AR-11 I assume) - But the address of the beneficiary of my wife's petition for her son (I-130) to come here, has changed as well. I have read where only the petitioner needs to change that address - but this does not seem right to me. And I have read where this can be done online - which also doesn't seem right to me either. And other proceedures that just don't seem right to me. Anyway - I am really confused and need some straight answers. Can someone please answer here or direct me to a place where I can get BOTH of these answers in plain english? Thanks for your help, Scott
  5. Hi all. I'm sure there is a post about this somewhere but I couldnt find it. My wife is here on her 2 year green card and we are going to move to a new address in a few weeks. Who do we need to notify, at what point, and how do we do that? as always we greatly appreciate your help! :-) thank you
  6. Today by accident, I discovered this form exists . When we moved at the end of April, I did all the proper updating of items (including the AR-11) but was completely clueless about this form. I'll file it this week but I'm probably looking at some kind of fine.
  7. Looking for some help. We just moved and I need to update our address with USCIS. I just want to be sure I get it correct. Below is what i saw on USCIS website. I guess one AR-11 for my wife and one for my stepson. Do I also need to submit an I-865? They already both have their 10 year green cards. We may be over the 10 day mark by a few days also..............................I guess put the moving date within 10 days of submitted date...... "Certain customers are legally obligated to inform USCIS when they move regardless of whether they have a case pending, approved, or denied. If you are not a U.S. citizen and you have moved, you must complete a Form AR-11 and submit it within ten days of the completion of the move for legal purposes. U.S. Citizens are not required to complete a Form AR-11. Regardless of whether you are or are not a citizen, if you have previously submitted a Form I-864 on behalf of someone who has become a permanent resident, you must also complete a Form I-865 within ten days of the completion of the move for legal purposes. For case processing purposes, a customer should inform USCIS of any address change as soon after the completion of the move as possible. This way, the customer will receive any notices or documents related to their case in a timely fashion" Thanks in advance for the help.
  8. Hi, My wife and I entered the U.S. on 07/01/2010, she entered on a CR-1 visa and was awarded a 2 year green card. We have moved maybe 3 times since that time, and every time I've done a change of address for both her and myself as the petitioner. I'm getting ready to fill out the I-751 as the 90 days until 2 year anniversary is coming up, but her company has decided to relocate her North of Dallas, so we'll be moving again. We're going up on spring break to look at places where we can live, but at this time the company doesn't know which store they will put her in, nor do we know an address where we will be living. What should I do about the I-751? I called USCIS, but the guy wasn't very nice and spoke to me like I was wasting his time, so I wanted to get confirmation of what he said. He told me to just file the form and when we get the address then to call them and notify them so they could update the address which could take up to 15 days for confirmation during a pending case. Seems like doing that could lead to some confusion and problems if you ask me. My second question is that my wife is currently pregnant, and the baby's due date is 07/04/2012 (no it wasn't planned! ) Obviously that's 3 days after her 2 year anniversary although due dates are an estimate. Can I just send a copy of the ultrasound pictures which have her name on the pictures to show that she is pregnant, or will they notate that at the BIO scan? If the baby decides to come out early and we get the birth certificate while the case is still pending, is it worth sending it to them? That's all I can think of for now... Thank you, Tom
  9. This is concerning a K1 visa. Plan is for her to arrive May 13th, possibly marry May 20th, but before June 1st. However, we will have to move on June 1st, since my lease will be up. It will be nice to have a lease under both our names and a new place for my future wife and I. Our plan also is to submit for AOS (including EAD and AP) June 1st or a few days afterwards. Our questions are: 1) Since, we are moving (current petition is listed with my current address (up to May 31st) ), what forms do we need to fill out and submit? We are aware of an AR 11(can this be done online or offline?), but does anything else need to be submitted in addition to this? Plan is to submit AOS (EAD and AP with the new address, not the current one) 2) When can we submit for her SS# 3) Anything else that we need to be aware of or keep in mind and any suggestions?
