  1. Received the Case Complete email from the NVC this morning!!!!!!! Woo hoo, finally got that case complete!!!!! To those of you who will be following me, I probably would have received a case complete last week had it not been for a small typo on the DS-230 that required the form to be resubmitted. So learn from this experience, double check, triple check, quadruple check, and then check again all forms before sending them off to the NVC. Interview date should be scheduled soon, will update as appropriate.
  2. At this point in the process, no. What these others are may be talking about is how you can check the status of the petition online from the time it is initially submitted to USCIS to the time a decision is rendered.
  3. Checklist response emailed today, things are now back on track.
  4. A typo on the DS-230. One number was incorrect, but that triviality fundamentally altered the response to that particular section, therefore, the form has to be resubmitted. Had it not been for this typo, I probably would have had a case complete by now.
  5. The first one, yes. They emailed second one that was very specific a couple of days ago and that second one will be responded to accordingly.
  6. The latter. The soonest you are able to file for removal of conditions is within 90 days of the expiration date. Once you file, then things are fine. I-751, Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence
  7. Automated voice recording Had I not made the call, I would have received the checklist via email. By me being proactive and making the calls I did, I was able to know about it before officially being notified by email.
  8. I officially withdraw this rant. I spoke with a very helpful NVC operator this morning and I went over the DS-230 that I had sent and noticed a very small typo that I didn't catch prior to sending it. This is obviously MY FAULT. The only person I'm angry at is myself for not being more thorough than I was.
  9. It has been two weeks since I emailed the DS-230 package to the NVC, 9 days since they sent me an email acknowledging receipt of the package. Now it seems my file has come to a screeching halt. I decided to call the AVR (did so using the old GUZ number as the AVR does not recognize GZO) and the AVR tells me they have reviewed the documents I sent and they have missing information.........WTF I will be calling an operator tomorrow morning and if I don't like the answer they give me, I will speak to a supervisor. Right now I'm thinking I may end up having to resubmit what I already sent them. Such BS. If I do end up resubmitting, I'm not putting a case number on the upper right corner of documents, I stand by my assertion that is an unnecessary thing to do.
  10. Congratulations to those who have received approvals!
  11. Would you be referencing this VJ discussion? If CSC has slowed to a crawl, it seems the NVC has come to a screeching halt (at least as far as my file is concerned). Two weeks ago I emailed the DS-230 package, 9 days ago, I received the acknowledgement email from NVCElectronic that the package was received and to wait 20 business days. 6 days ago was that email requesting the package I already sent. I'm thinking I may need ring them on Friday, although not much may come from such a call.
  12. Most banks won't charge for notarization (you may have to be a customer of that specific bank to avoid being charged).
  13. I was glad to see NE get defeated today.
  14. I got a bogus RFE email from NVC last night. This "checklist" that was sent to me asked for the following: Immigrant Visa Application Part 1 I already sent all required paperwork and accompany documents, no need to do it again. Note, this email was generated by NVCInquiry and not NVCElectronic. NVCElectronic had generated the emails indicating they had received my packages.
  15. Welcome to the club! Your file is officially in the queue. Did your email tell you which service center your file is being routed to?
  16. If the medical needs to be redone due to the validity of the first one expiring prior to a visa being issued, the Consulate will indicate that a new medical exam is necessary.
  17. Today I received notice from the NVC that the IV package has been accepted. This notice was received 5 days after I had emailed it. The case complete email could come sometime next week.
  18. I received a notice from the NVC a short time ago notifying me of acceptance of the AOS package. This notice was received 5 days after I emailed it.
  19. No. However, I did do this, prior to each white book document, I put a coversheet in front of it stating what it was and then put the case number below it. For example: Notarial Marriage Certificate Case number: GZO ##########
  20. Today (the 14th), the payment portal showed the IV bill was PAID. To keep the size of the file down, I scanned the white books as JPEG files and then inserted them into a PDF document. Just as I did with when I emailed the AOS documents, I put the GZO case number in the subject line and after the case number, I wrote, "Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration" The package itself was composed of the following: coversheet from payment portal cover letter DS-230 parts I and II supplemental sheet copy of my wife's passport bio page two passport style pictures of my wife, how I did this is I scanned the front side and back side of the pictures and inserted them into the file marriage certificate white book birth certificate white book police certificate white book Just as before, I wrote a brief statement below the petitioner/beneficiary information.
  21. Monday the 12th, I received the AOS invoice in my inbox while I was at work. When I got home after work, it was Tuesday the 13th. I paid the bill and I'm now waiting for the payment portal to show PAID.
  22. Yesterday my AOS bill showed PAID in the payment portal and today, I emailed the AOS package to the NVC. My AOS file was nearly 13MB, not wanting to risk rejection for the file being too large, I used the full version of Adobe Acrobat to reduce the size of the file. The reduced size of the file was 3.5MB In the subject line, write your GZO case number and Affidavit of Support, form I-864 (or form I-864EZ) and documents. In the body of the email, put the name, date of birth, and email addresses of the petitioner and beneficiary. Optional (and I opted to do so), you can put a brief statement below the petitioner/beneficiary information that can say something similar to please find the attached I-864 (or I-864EZ) and supporting documents for case number GZO ##########. I then closed it with the statement "thank you for your prompt attention to this matter." For the AOS package, I put the file together like this: coversheet from payment portal cover letter I-864EZ most recent tax return and W2 tax transcripts from the previous two years employment letter pay stubs
  23. I've only been to NY once and that one time was an airline layover in 2005 (JFK). When I was a kid, the one place I always wanted to go to was NY and the highlight of going to NY would be going to the Twin Towers. When the shock and horror of the events of that day wore off, I found myself being unable to ever go to NY for tourism unless the Twin Towers were rebuilt, it affected me that much. I have seen the renderings of the 1 World Trade Center under construction, if a second building just like it, sans spire, were to be constructed at that site, then Lower Manhattan would have Twin Towers again, granted they would be different from what was there before (and I personally would have preferred to see something along the lines of the original design), however, something would feel right and then I could, perhaps should, bring myself to go to NY for tourism. As for where I was on the day itself, I was living in Oregon at that time and I was at work on the graveyard shift as it was all unfolding.
  24. I got the GZO number today. I will be sending the appropriate packages one the appropriate bills show paid. My suggestion to those of you who will follow is this, pay the bills as soon as you receive them, you don't need to hold out until your case is converted from paper to electronic.
