  1. Yea right, How many believe that Ana will be quiet now that she has her 4 thinggies?
  2. Lucky for them that I live over 3,000 miles from them.
  3. S#$#@!!, I'll just call them all tomorrow!. Eric, our time lines so close, then maybe when one of us gets visa the other will be right after. So good news for you is good news for me
  4. You mean the Powell office number (202-647. . . )?
  5. Dave, hopefully the complaining, moaning, calls, emails, faxes, and meetings that we have been and continue to make will make your and future applicants' waiting much shorter than the wait we have endured. At this point, I am hoping to keep our wait under 2 years. For now I realize that I have a long-distance relationship, and I have taken a job that will allow me to visit her whenever I can afford it. Looking back, I can say that the best advice I can give to everyone who is still in the early stages of the process is to visit your fiancee as often as possible while you wait on INS. Yes, Dave, to me you are still in the early (well actually mid) stage of this process. Hopefully the recent activity is a result of the actions by members' on Candle which will lead to the process speeding up for current and future fiancees.
  6. Misinformed INS employee????? Before I sent in the I-129 petition in late October, 2001, the local INS office (here in Las Vegas) told me that the entire process takes about 2 months on the average.
  7. I spent exactly one hour on hold today to DOS.......still pending, and confirmation that last resubmit was Jan. 4. Yes, what we are seeing is a mere trickle, not a floodgate of visa activity. But it is a little better than the negative activity we have seen since late December. I did notice on the G7 site that the Russians have been receiving some visas lately.
  8. We are there with you, ski. After an hour on hold, was told resubmit on January 4. . . still pending. Congrats, Ana, as long as positive things keep happening we can all hang in there. You and Ian will be together here soon. B)
  9. We all anxiously are awaiting their report. It is possible they are now sleeping on a train ride back.
  10. Yes, this is true, but we have been fooled like this before. So I regard this with CAUTIOUS optimism. I would be quite excited, indeed, if we had not seen similar action in December. I, unfortunately, am one of the August, "Blackholers", so although I am somewhat encouraged by this recent activity, it is difficult to get excited until I see visa in hand.
  11. Looking back, if I knew then what I know now. . . The only thing I would have done differently (other than start the process sooner), would havebeen to schedule as many trips as possible to China to see my sweetie. You may yet have quite a long wait. So being the impatient person that you describe, I recommend that you try to visit your sweetie as often as possible while you are waiting.
  12. It is because some people like you have been reunited with their love, that people like me can know that someday I will also see the light at the end of the tunnel. Your success story helps me to keep the faith.
  13. This is the info I got from INS when I first filed our I-129 petitiion back in October, 2001. I-134 is for before your spouse arrives in the U.S. She will take it to the interview with her. I-864 is for after you are married, which you will file later. Yes, you need Job records, bank accounts, etc, in addition to tax returns. Only one year of tax return required for I-134 (3 years for I-864), but best to provide 3 years with I-134 also to be safe.
  14. I know how you feel. I have been through the same sequence. Each time something happens, I feel hope, but I will no longer get truly excited until we get that letter from GZ telling us to come get our visa.
  15. G7 is a commercial site. Candle is not. This is why Candle works for us.
  16. Let's hope this mere trickle is a forerunner of the floodgate of visas that are soon to flow from GZ.
  17. I received the same email. I am definitely OUT. It is a good plan of action, BUT would be much better implemented on THIS website. This website seems to have more members making relevant posts, has much better easier-to-use faster-loading interface, and does not unduly censor its members posts. I think that this is just G7's way of admitting that they want to do something about all the members they have lost to Candle website. G7 ALREADY has search engine positioning. Bottom line: thank them for their idea and use it here. Candle is where we are organized. Candle, unlike G7, is a non-commercial website which exists only to serve its members. So how about it gang, do we want to add contnent to help get ranking inthe search engines? Since we are non-profit we could even submit to Yahoo for free. That 'other' website cannot.
  18. Congrats, it's good to see that things appear to be happening finally. May we all see our loves this month!
  19. If that happens, we will take you and Ying both to dinner when you return. Enjoy your trip.
  20. A big thanks to you both. I wish I could make the trip with you. Good luck to you and us all
  21. I just popped over to the G7 website to check for any new posts, and I noticed that today marks exactly 6 months since our interview. This has gone way past ridiculous! We have been waiting since interview and approval for our visa 3 times longer than the local INS told me the entire process would take!
  22. Seriously though, love does not know the boundaries of age.
