The one child policy has created an unbalanced sex ratio at the child bearing ages. Also the girls tend to be better educated and less likely to be traditional. Aloha from Hawaii, I am waiting for a CR-1 visa to come through. From what I have seen there is no significant time difference between that and the K1 or K3 visas. Our case was set back by about 4 months when a request for more information was sent to my home and I was in China for 6 weeks. I sent the additional information and went back in line to wait. It finally cleared the National Visa Center on December 18. Guangzhou has notified us of the case arriving there. So far there has been on real time loss. If the NVC cleared it earlier I would be in the Black Hole Gang. We are waiting for P4. Myles aka Annakuen"GG

I will make my third trip nest month and I will be there for another month. It costs and is time consuming. It keeps me sane. Mick & Owen My thanks and prayers go with you. I hope Owen got first class tickets for the train ride. I made that trip from Beijing to Guangzhou by train. The only way to go is first class. Second class does provide a place to sleep. Third class is just a seat on a crowded car. If Owen traveled in third class he will be a grouchy person when he gets there. Aloha from Hawaii I lied to get past customs. When asked if any thing cost more than ten dollars I lied. The new suitcases cost more than ten bucks. I am glad I was not asked to open the suitcases. Both cases were stuffed with my wife's stuff. Women's clothing would be a little difficult to explain and repack. Myles aka Annakuen'GG

Aloha from Hawaii P-3 does not seem to be the problem. P-4 and beyond is the problem. It is difficult to get Guamgzhou to admit that clearances have reached them. My wife's clearance has been there for two two months and still no Package 4. We have no idea why there is the dslay. I suspect the slow down is deliberate and not a screw up. Myles aka Annakuen'GG

Aloha from Hawaii, Different visas, K-1 vs CR-1, but the same process. Same clearances from different locations. And if I have to wait a little longer my case will change from CR-1 to IR-1. All with the same end result that begins with different tags. Myles aka Annakuen'GG

Aloha from Hawaii. The delays are not screwups. They are on purpose. The visa delays began about the same time the FBI visited Guangzhou. This looks like a conspiracy in the Federal Government against us. Myles aka Annakuen'GG

Aloha from Hawaii, To get a clearance is not the same as working on it. My wife's clearance from the National Visa Center got to GZ in mid December. Two weeks later I sent a email with an attached letter indicating the same from my Senator. My wife got confirmation of her case in GZ in 10 minutes. I got confirmation in one week. Nothing has happened since then. I have given up on hope for a speedy process so I am going to China for 4 weeks next month. Myles aka Annakuen'GG

Aloha from Hawaii, It is not unfair. It is deliberate. We have a Chinese Exclusion program again. The Liberal Left is afraid of a minority group that does not need or want social programs. The disadvantaged minority is the power base of the Liberals. The Chinese who want to come to America to work and create a better life are a threat to the Liberals.
