We are short handed and the boss is going to move the Las Vegas store there to a bigger and better location. After that I will be able to take two weeks off from work for another honeymoon. Aloha from Hawaii, Unless things change for the much worse, It should not be a problem to get out of China. If you do not have any symptoms you should be able to travel. The CDC does want all travelers from affected regions to watch for symptoms and report them as soon as possible. All travelers will get written instructions of what to do if you get sick. A self imposed isolation for a couple of weekd will be a good idea to make friends, workers and family feel safer. Myles aka Annakuen.GG

Aloha from Hawaii, My wife is in Shenzhen at this time. It is a safe zone in China. It seems the health risk is related to the public health of the city. Shenzhen is a new city and is a clean city. There have not reported any any new SARS cases for about a month. Myles aka Annakuen'GG

Aloha from Hawaii, The last time the Chinese government faced a crisis of this magnitude was in May and June of 1989. Thousands of people were killed in one night to establish control. It is not something they want to do again. The government rules with the Mandate of Heaven. This mandate is now threatened with possible civil disobedience. Tough choices must be made and the government will not be the same after this crisis. One way or another heads will roll. Myles aka Annakuen'GG

Aloha from Hawaii, We have an air quality problem in Honolulu when the wind is from the south. The person who is responsible for the sulfur emmisions is well known in Hawaii and is above the laws of men. It is a very good idea to just stay out of her way. Her last major rampage destroyed three communities and a national park. She has the power of a god because she is a god. Her name is Pele, the goddess of the volcano. Kilauea volcano has been active for more than 20 years. Myles aka Annakuen'GG

Aloha from Hawaii, It is very easy to say that SARS is not a problem if you are not there. You can cite low percentages and say it is not a problem. For you it is not a problem if you do not know anyone who is sick or dead. Our apartment in Beijing is in the Haidian district. It is in the center of this outbreak. When the family across the hall reported two deaths in his work place my wife decided it was time to leave town. Keep in mind this was when the reported number of deaths was only 4. The government was and still is not telling the truth. My wife and her son are now in Shenzhen. I feel better now. Keep in mind that you should not focus only on the relatively low announced death rete. It is not fun to have a life threatening disease. It is also something that is added to other risks that you have. Your risk in China is not just 3% but 3% added to other risks. Myles aka Annakuen'GG

I suspect there is some interference by political appointments that is the cause of our problems. When they leave town things could be better. Myles aka Annakuen'GG

Aloha from Hawaii, I learned from Asian American Couples that the Foreign Marriage Office is closed because of a suspected SARS case and the building with workers will be closed off for two weeks. This sounds like a more plausable reason than avoiding large groups of people. Myles aka Annakuen'GG

Aloha from Hawaii, Thanks Owen for the reminder of the one child policy. That will make this a crisis for the government. The loss of the only child will make the loss of the first born in the Bible look like a minor problem. Myles aka Annakuen'GG

The theme is simply the best thing to do is to not fight the central government for the good of all of the people. Peace and tranquility is made possible by not fighting the government.
