Well, it's about time! I thought you were going to make it to 500 posts before anyone noticed you were a newcomer! Welcome to CFL!

I think that supporting your WIFE looks good, while sending money to or from a FIANCE may not. It may open a door for the VO that you don't want open, especially if you are stretching your finances to be making the trips. Western Union is only $14 per transfer at an agent location, if your wife/fiance doesn't have access to a compatible ATM.

Spoke with Lady at Paciasia

She is from Baihai...3 hour bus ride from Nanning. So Nanning would be the city. 195513 What I found the cheapest (and also had the most choices) was to buy separate tickets - one into Beijing, and then another ticket to Nanning. Check the China Southern website for (local China) flights into Nanning. -
If you won't use Western Union, then there are two reliable choices I can recommend. 1. Pay for a wire transfer direct to your SO's account. 2. Open a second account at your bank and mail her the debit card. #2 is the long term solution. #1 is the short term solution. If she can wait a couple weeks, just use #2. Hasn't it already been longer than that since you first tried Western Union? 195072 This has been talked about in previous hreads - PayPal also has an account which functions like a bank account in that you can keep money in it and give your SO a debit card to draw from it. The advantage to the PayPal card is that there uis no charge except for a very small fee when used. The disadvantage is that deposits take 3 days to post.

We called on Tuesday, telling them we needed the vaccination supplement for a K-1 visa and were told we could come between 2 and 6 PM. "She only needs the vaccination supplement?" "She already has the vaccinations she needs" "We need to get the doctor's signature" 10 minutes and 10 dollars was all it took! The I-485 AOS form states clearly that a K-1 only needs the vaccination supplement. This is the form you will attach it to, bring it with you.

Can one get married in U.S. on a tourist visa?
Randy W replied to canrun's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
There is a strong tendency here to "put ourselves in the Visa Officer's shoes", and end up interpreting immigration law in the process. By acquiring a tourist visa, using it, getting married, and returning before the visa expires, I don't think you have misrepresented yourself anywhere. Consult an immigration attorney, but realize also that both the visa interview and the AOS interview are very subjective and open to the interpretation of the interviewing officer. It might be best to wait. -

P.O.E how long does it take
Randy W replied to Thomas Promise's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
As far as the immigration procedures, someone else might be able to better help you. But the lines at ORD move fairly quickly - I would guess maybe an hour, although you probably want to allow 2 hours for a connection. Then I believe she'll have to take the tram to a different terminal for a domestic connection. -
Congratulations!!

Can one get married in U.S. on a tourist visa?
Randy W replied to canrun's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
If you meet, fall in love, and get married while on a tourist visa, that is completely legitimate. If you knew each other ahead of time, you have an obstacle to overcome in the form of an IO (immigration officer) who may form the impression that you came to this country with the intent to marry. This obstacle comes at the time of the AOS interview, and is highly subjective based on the IO's interpretation of your situation. If you can't demonstrate that your intent was NOT to get married, you should consider leaving the country and applying for an immigration visa. Marriage is legal under ALL circumstances, although some localities may require more documentation than a tourist could provide. Using a tourist visa to get married is not. -

anyone have this problem ?

"it takes time to sort and processed each letter" was what they told me, after I confronted them with the tracking information. Be patient - it's all you can do. -
Jiaying knew enough English to say "English, no! Please, Putonghua!" The rest of the interview was in Mandarin - she was asked about our sons, and my visits. She said the pictures were very important. I have a hard time accepting that our fates are judged that quickly. Someone may have flagged a "CONCERN" in advance - the communication issue may have simply opened a door to give the VO a reason to put on the blue slip. To them it is only a blue slip - to Larry (and others), it is a major hoop to jump through.

I'm sorry to hear of your trouble, but get them what they ask for as soon as you can. Almost all cases are resolved on overcome. The conjecture is that someone reviews these cases ahead of time, and flags potential concerns for the VO. Rather than notify you in advance of their request for extra evidence, they simply use the interview for this purpose. USCONGUZ, our member from the Guangzhou consulate, claims that the VO sees your folder for the first time at the interview, but that's not to say that someone else doesn't pre-evaluate. My wife also hardly speaks any English, but had no trouble passing the interview. No one knows what catches their eye in one case, but not another. Good luck.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll keep us posted!

I think you have definitely confirmed it. That's really bad when they charge you for information they don't have that you can get for free at another number.

Plastic bags are good for holding loose 3 1/2x5 and 4x6 photos. 8 1/2x11 photosheets fit in well with the pother 8 1/2x11 sheets you are submitting.
