Congrats, but double-check on the K4. It seems like there is something about them going out of status when the parent adjusts status. Can't find it right now, though. I hope I'm wrong.

Tax question on first year filing with new wife
Randy W replied to Chris+XiaoXia's topic in AOS & Immigration Challenges
The SSN is hers for life - no expiration. You MUST use it. No marriage certificate is needed. -

Just found this thread, and I am confused again. K-1 status expired on February 1st. I am working on the AOS docs now, and I plan on sending in the AP docs with the I-485. I can't tell from the thread if the consensus is that this a good (or bad) thing. Randy seems to be saying that the AP should wait intil the I-797C for the AOS is received, or is that not necessary since I am going to submit the AP and EAD docs with the I-485? Am I getting things all mixed up again? I gave up alcohol for Lent, and "Lately Things Just Don't Seem the Same". You either file the AP with your AOS, or, if you don't, you must wait until you receive the I-797C and include a copy with the I131 AP application. Sounds like your choice is to mail them both together. This was a hypothetical thread about maybe delaying the K-1 AOS long enough to get a 10 year green card - don't do it.

It's All Over Except The Oath Ceremony

Congrats! Thanks! and I hope we still see you here once in a while. -
The color of the slip changes - the "yes" or "no" does not. A couple years ago, red meant no, blue meant yes. No consulate is a guaranteed pass. I'm guessing close to 50% on average, but closer to 10-20% for CFL members, get blue slips. Someone else may have better figures. For those with a good relationship, it should be 100% pass. Unfortunately, it may depend on the mood of the VO. That's why I suggest you go for an overall mood - a perky beneficiary, pictures, things placed on the counter where the VO can see them may have more effect than we realize. Even a 5 foot tall, 3 part, hinged backdrop (just kidding).

But cashiers learn to not do that so they don't end up short at the end of the day - rule # 1.

OK after reading the precautions and considering thtat the cabinets are painted pressed board and the wall paintered plaster wont this remove everything mentioned along with the grease? By the way if you eat formed sandwich meats or chicken or shrimp at most any chain restaurants you are consuming this stuff. Well, uh, yes! But unless you're cooking on those surfaces, doesn't just plain old window cleaner or soap work?

TSP - TriSodiumPhosphate Any hardware store will carry it. Really???!!!!!! I've got sacks of the stuff at work. It is one of the main additives used in processed foods. How do I use it? Make a paste or watery solution? For severe cases of baked on grease, Easy Off oven cleaner.

She may need a different school. Some will cater to foreign students and offer full scholarships to students who are applying for student visas.

Well what do you want broken???? I was just trying to being some reality to the discussion but feel free to live in a fantasy world. That's like claiming that we could all show our love for our country by paying extra taxes each year. I do, thank you, and I hope you do soon, also. Well that is a silly statement, as you all pay more taxes as our income rises, if we live in an apartment the rent goes up, if we own a home the real estate taxes go up, if we buy a car the prices seem to increase each year as does the cost of clothesm food,, travel, toys, vacations. So usin gyour logic we must love everybody and everyone has their hands in our pockets.. Randy, that is life, get use to it. Out of curiosity what is your reaction when the local government raises your real estate taxes every year? Do you declare independence from your county, send them a love letter or just pay it??? So lets get real. oop's sorry but I have to get back to work.... We need a ModBot automatic response generator for carrying on conversations like these

No, Lawrence. The point here is that the fees are going up. Give me a break.

Mt guess is that his immigration advise is off base - that the USCIS will accept what the civil surgeon will sign. On the other hand, you may wish to follow his medical advice, but keep in mind that it may delay your application if he won't sign it until the series is complete (you must have a civil surgeon's signature on the form). Perhaps someone else will have specific knowledge about the shots in question.

My wife, on the other hand, fits in pretty well.

Spouses have authority to represent a spouse when it comes to notaries? I wasn't aware of that. I don't understand how the notary would assert, with his seal, that it's a true and correct copy of the passport when the actual person to whom the passport belongs to isn't there to officially swear that is the case. A spouse can stand in to do that? Hmmm.. Anyway, I'm not arguing against this course of action. It just seems odd to me that it would work this way. Again, it's the document that's being certified, not the spouse.

There is no correlation whatsoever between high fees and successful marriages. We should be able to discuss them in separate threads.

I'm not familiar with this process so I'd like to ask how is it that you can notarize her passport? Whenever I've notarized anything in the US, I've had to be there in person in front of the notary and they checked my ID and had me swear an oath in front of the notary. I think that's exactly what he's doing - there shouldn't be a problem because its his wife's passport. The notary is signing that it's a true and correct copy of the passport, not that his wife was there.

Very resourceful! Good job!

We don't call that "Texas"

This is true in Texas, also. I buy some fairly thin towels at Sam's that manage to dry out between showers. Also, the thinner (and older) towels have less lint if you wear contacts.

After 'A', 'E', 'I', 'O', and 'U', what else is there? Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. I just cracked up when I saw this Sorry. Sorry. I really am very sorry. -
One reason our women give for going out of the country is that the men aren't interested in divorced women, especially with children.
