Just found this thread, and I am confused again. K-1 status expired on February 1st. I am working on the AOS docs now, and I plan on sending in the AP docs with the I-485. I can't tell from the thread if the consensus is that this a good (or bad) thing. Randy seems to be saying that the AP should wait intil the I-797C for the AOS is received, or is that not necessary since I am going to submit the AP and EAD docs with the I-485? Am I getting things all mixed up again? I gave up alcohol for Lent, and "Lately Things Just Don't Seem the Same". You either file the AP with your AOS, or, if you don't, you must wait until you receive the I-797C and include a copy with the I131 AP application. Sounds like your choice is to mail them both together. This was a hypothetical thread about maybe delaying the K-1 AOS long enough to get a 10 year green card - don't do it.

The color of the slip changes - the "yes" or "no" does not. A couple years ago, red meant no, blue meant yes. No consulate is a guaranteed pass. I'm guessing close to 50% on average, but closer to 10-20% for CFL members, get blue slips. Someone else may have better figures. For those with a good relationship, it should be 100% pass. Mt guess is that his immigration advise is off base - that the USCIS will accept what the civil surgeon will sign. On the other hand, you may wish to follow his medical advice, but keep in mind that it may delay your application if he won't sign it until the series is complete (you must have a civil surgeon's signature on the form). Perhaps someone else will have specific knowledge about the shots in question.

Spouses have authority to represent a spouse when it comes to notaries? I wasn't aware of that. I don't understand how the notary would assert, with his seal, that it's a true and correct copy of the passport when the actual person to whom the passport belongs to isn't there to officially swear that is the case. A spouse can stand in to do that? Hmmm.. Anyway, I'm not arguing against this course of action. It just seems odd to me that it would work this way. Again, it's the document that's being certified, not the spouse.

I'm not familiar with this process so I'd like to ask how is it that you can notarize her passport? Whenever I've notarized anything in the US, I've had to be there in person in front of the notary and they checked my ID and had me swear an oath in front of the notary. I think that's exactly what he's doing - there shouldn't be a problem because its his wife's passport. The notary is signing that it's a true and correct copy of the passport, not that his wife was there.

This is true in Texas, also. I buy some fairly thin towels at Sam's that manage to dry out between showers. Also, the thinner (and older) towels have less lint if you wear contacts.
