2nd security clearence
LiandLarry replied to eeyore's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Congratulations eeyore! Does this mean you have "FINALLY" escaped NVC and are on your way to GUZ? Isn't the second security check done at GUZ?? Larry -
A little cheer up for me

Every hurdle you jump over is success! Sounds like you are off very quickly from the starting chute. Merry Christmas!~! Larry -
In FAQ it says that if K-1 fiancee doesn't get EAD stamp at POE then it must be filed for with I-765. Do we need I-765 filled out and show at POE to get this stamp or will they just stamp it. Seems like one less thing to do later. thanks, Larry

A wonderful surprise!! Congratulations!! Larry

I looked at DHL and there were no boxes shipped on the 23rd of November. The next batch went out on the 25th and it was signed for by STAMP on 12/15. It also says "in transit". Can you call DHL and ask about shipment #7926445881?? Larry

K-3 PROCESS THE BEST I CAN REMEMBER
LiandLarry replied to adambchildress's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
So both YOU and your wife got interviewed together? I wish GUZ did it in this format, it only seems fair. CONGRATULATIONS !!!!! Larry -
What is the normal time to wait for a P3 after GUZ signed for file by "STAMP"? It was signed for 12 days after being sent DHL from NVC. Finally got lucky after over 1 year at NVC, this is a nice move in the right direction. Can't wait to "finally" make the TIMELINE. Larry

going to the doctor....vaccination record
LiandLarry replied to xulei601's topic in AOS & Immigration Challenges
There are many types of skin tests. PPD (Purified Protein Derivitive) to test for TB is the only one mentioned in the "FAQ". It is extremely common here in the U.S.. All medical personnel in hospitals must get this test annually and it isn't a big deal. If she is positive (the injection site on the forearm gets inflamed a bit). I wouldn't worry about any harm in this test (not a vaccine). It is only a skin test so it isn't like getting 2 shots of the same vaccine. A second skin test if you can't prove the first will NOT be harmful. Here is the copy from FAQ: (1.19.6) Q.1.19 Where can I find some information on vaccination requirements? TB test should have been done as part of the medical exam - this is a vaccine supplement, not additional test. If the test is positive (read after 48-72 hours) they might look at the chest X-ray or maybe ask for another X-ray. I hope this helps. She needs or has already received the skin test at the physical exam in China. Larry -

Wally & Jin, Congratulations on your new life. Merry Christmas! -
You have misunderstood. What USGONGUZ said was that DHL referring to or describing the contents of the packages as "diplomatic papers" does not mean what you think it means. Packages unders "embassy protection" are carried by government couriers and are not subject to any costoms procedures. DHL labels the packages of case files "diplomatic papers". Still waiting for the answer as to how one tracks these packages. 176095 go to http://www.dhl.com pick the United States of America click "Track" near the top, then under track pick "Track by reference" In the reference box put I-730 and pick what date(s) you want to track. Then look for a box being sent to Guangzhou and click on the package number.

Sending money to China
LiandLarry replied to skibum's topic in Communications, Planes, Shipping & Money
When I was in China I quickly realized that Amex was only honored at the most expensive hotels and at expensive restaurants. I thought from their ads it was good everywhere around the world. I guess that is just if you are rich. I would imagine that the traveler's checks would be the same. China is just getting into credit cards and good luck if you can use one at a store. Amex charges a higher fee than other cards too so they probably wouldn't take that one. Just my observation. Larry -
YES, CONGRATULATIONS !!! That is the same day ours was sent from NVC. Although it really didn't leave until the next Monday 12/12/05. Here is where our DHL box is now. 12/15/2005 5:24 pm On Hand. Guangzhou, China 5:24 pm At Gateway. Guangzhou, China 12/14/2005 4:40 pm In transit. Kowloon, Hong Kong 1:57 pm Arrived at DHL facility. Kowloon, Hong Kong 12/13/2005 4:28 am Transit through sort facility. Wilmington, OH 12/12/2005 2:38 pm Picked Up by DHL. Shipper's Door Does anyone know what the DHL term "On Hand" really means at this point? Larry

What website did you check to see that is appears and what number do I need. Was your case sent from NVC to GUZ? If so........what date was your case sent DHL from NVC on. Just trying to get an idea of my case that left NVC. Larry

It seems it was "my" question that upset USCONGUZ. That was not my intention. I didn't understand how it could be possible for the long wait before signing. I know I didn't phrase it with the best of terms. Later USCONGUZ came back and actually explained better as to why the long wait we go through. I know tempers run very high at times here and frustration takes over. USCONGUZ vented at me and I hope all is well now. They came back and answered more threads calmly. I appologize if it upset anyone. I tried saying this on the orig thread but it got deleted by a moderator. Larry

I think something happened to your post. 175573 Jessie, I decided to make a new topic instead. Meant to go back and delete the whole thing.

So who posts and poses the question? The moderator? I would like to know why GUZ refuses to sign for our cases for 1 to 2 months. They should go right through customs since this is diplomatic mail. I have heard it might be because of weight, no matter what the weight of the box is it should be signed for immediately. I am sure NVC doesn't order special boxes that are bigger and hold more weight than any other embassy/consulate special for GUZ. Has anyone ever asked them why this practice takes place and is allowed to continue? It seems like having diplomatic mail sitting in a warehouse somewhere for such a long period instead of being brought directly to the consulate should be against the law. It is priority stuff and shouldn't be laying around. Even customs can't open it. Diplomatic mail should be sent directly to the consulate and inside those walls. They should be signed for by "STAMP" days after entering the country at most. I know others are interested too. I think the Secretary of State for Consular Affairs might not be happy if they knew of this practice. Can someone pose this query to GUZ? Sincerely, Larry

I have never heard of anyone here writing letters against another CFL member. There are quite a few members who have gotten married after knowing their wife for a short period of time. There are some that got married less than a month after divorce from previous wife. Love is Love and I know that "I" am a paranoid person but I trust this CFL family very much for support in whatever I am doing. I don't think that is the way this website works. All are judged (if at all) by the facts and your need for help and support. It is your call.... Sincerely, Larry 175537 It might have been VJ and not CFL, but I read where that actually happened. I don't know the details, but I am opting for caution. I thought about it and decided if I kept the dates vague it wouldn't harm anything. My timeline is all there, minus the drama, just without specific dates. 175547 I am doing a K-1 not K-3 like you are. My case took over 7 months through the CSC and I am not understanding how any of your timeline has anything to worry about now. Maybe I am missing something. As you say "patience isn't a virtue of yours", this process of constant waiting and wondering not knowing something could be denied or kicked back for more information is very VERY stressful. One little thing wrong could take a lot of extra time and it doesn't seem fair. I am still not used to it. good luck, Larry

It seems like is one or two parts of this process that give the blanket party. Just when you least expect it. I am glad you are happy at this point. Larry
