  1. I thought there was some speculation in previous posts about when the namecheck was started at GUZ. Li and I are a K-1 and they have not entered our paper file into their computer yet so no P3 has been mailed. Of course the electronic file was transferred to GUZ when we were released from NVC. I asked DOS today if the namecheck has been started, they stated that the namecheck at GUZ was completed on 1/7/06. At least we know we won't be hung up on the namecheck at GUZ for over one year like NVC did to us. Thank God!! Larry
  2. This has nothing to do with namecheck. NVC sent the electronic file because they were done. The electronic file won't be opened (unless by mistake) until they have your hard copy in hand and are ready to enter their receiving it into the computer.
  3. Merc, I am in the same place as you.......NVC sent and waiting for GUZ to input hardcopy into their computer so P3 can be sent. I always get a real person when calling DOS (202) 663-1225 (1-0-0). DOS does not track the DHL package so they won't know the hard copy is at GUZ until the consulate enters it into their system. You did not get an idiot on the phone.....that "IS" the way DOS tracks it. I would call back next week and see if the P3 was sent although it is still too early for that probably. The case for Li and I was sent from NVC on December 9th and I know it has been signed for but the package hasn't been opened yet so no update from the consulate to DOS yet. Sometimes it takes a month or two. Hope this helps, you are on track. If "this" is a big gap for your application then you should thank your lucky stars. This month or two wait is almost nothing.........take a look at my timeline and please don't worry at this point. Larry
  4. K-1 Visa Apr. 15, 2004 - Nov. 19, 2004, 218 days at CSC. Dec. 9, 2005 - NVC finished the case, 385 days at NVC. Held up at both USCIS (CSC) & NVC. Larry and Li
  5. I think the turned head position is not valid or acceptable anymore, and that the only photos accepted today are the front-facing shots. I think this was implemented in latter 2004, so I wonder if you were caught in the changover? 181155[/snapback] DAMN! Li and I are awaiting our P3 right now. I hope they will allow the old style since that is when I filed. We don't need any more hangups with our case anymore. Larry B)
  6. Thanks for the update. My long timetable started in April of 2004. That makes it a little less complicated at least. B) Larry
  7. I thought I did one set of pics for my passport and my lawyer needed a slightly different pose for another form (I don't know if it was I-129f of not). Passport is a front view and the other one I needed was slightly turned to one direction. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Larry
  8. Hi Jim, it seems most of us have had a lot of anxiety at one time or another during this process. If you want to post your timeline with what type of Visa you are applying for maybe we could understand better what is asked. We try the best we can to help and my hope is that we can also help you. Sincerely, Larry
  9. Congrats Merc !!! A BIG STEP!! If you call DOS at (202) 663-1225 (then hit 1 then 0 and 0 again) they will have the case in their computer. They can tell you the date it was approved by NVC, or call NVC and they can let you now. You can get updates from DOS about P3 info after the shipment is received too. Li and I are awaiting P3. Best Wishes, Larry
  10. Nate, that is way too long at NVC as you know. It seems if you were missing a form or something they would have contacted you by now. My Senator and House Rep. didn't help me much. They only did an NVC Inquiry and called the Congressional Liason at NVC. That didn't break things up for Li and me. I am from California and they aren't that interested in this sort of thing it seems. Maybe your state's people in Washington D.C. could do something for you. I know it has helped for some. Li and I waited over one year at NVC and we feel for you. IMHO it is best if you call the office of your reps instead of writing, it is a start at least. Larry
  11. I know this isn't the kind of thing you are looking for.............but I wish I hadn't cashed in all my U.S. currency. I would have kept some U.S. coins to hand to the children that seemed VERY excited to see a foreigner. At last they could say "Hello, how are you" to an American. I wanted to give them something small from the U.S. but I had none. Larry
  12. Now I am wondering, pushbrk are you applying for a K-4 visa along with your K-3? Larry
  13. Merc, you got the canned reply from NVC. They have your case and now you have the case number (GUZ#). When NVC is done with it they will forward your case to GUZ. I got these letters for one year. Some are worded a little differently but all mean the same thing. You are under the cloud of NVC until further notice. You can't get any additional information from them until your case has been forwarded to GUZ. Keep the faith, it is a forward step that is necessary in our process. Larry
  14. Rak, you don't need any vaccinations to go to China. The list was of Recommended Vaccinations and Preventive Medications. If I was going to move there I would probably get the recommended vaccines. I think you'll have a fantastic time in China, good luck! Larry
  15. James, I was wondering if there is an update to your situation. None of us want to see the case come back to the U.S. for review. Do you have any idea who could have written something against your union? Were you able to catch it before being sent back? Sincerely, Larry
  16. Best wishes and Good luck for the interview!! Larry&Li
  17. Thanks guys, I wasn't trying to cause trouble or anything it is just different information than what I was asked to give. I know we all try to watch each other's backs here. thanks, Larry
  18. rlheim, I am in the middle of a K-1 with no children. My lawyer wants my last 3 years of tax returns & W-2s. Is it another form for the daughter that states only last years tax return? Also the lawyer never mentioned anything about bank statements, just letter of employment. Larry
  19. Welcome Van!! We will help you all we can and you can help us in return. It might help us to know what type of visa you are going for and where you are in your process by posting a timeline (if you want to). (go to Your control panel and then "edit signature") Please don't hesitate to ask any question no matter how tiny. Sincerely, Larry
  20. If I call within the next 30 minutes and promise to tell someone else about the product will I get another "fantastic" BONUS GIFT??? Maybe one less payment?? Larry
