After our NVC approval notice I received no further word until a call to DOS produced a GUZ number two months later. A month after that we received the P-3. Throughout that time period there was no information available on the computer. I had called and emailed but nothing, then suddenly the P-3. Later when I would call DOS the only information they found were notes of my calls and emails. I would suggest calling and emailing twice a month for both on alternating weeks. It can't hurt to generate a record of interest. Besides that if nothing is out of the ordinary you can expect it to be following the normal timeline.

I think that was Mike's post in March. I tried searching and only come up with his. Anyone else have anything else.

Interesting Paul. That was part of our problem before. She would constantly remind me of all the things she thought I had done wrong or slighted her with over the past 30 years. Most of it I could barely remember happening. I don't know if it needs to be delusional. Certainly letting go of things is important to success. I am very curious to know a year or two from now how we will be handling this.

Not meaning to deviate from topic but I like Rosie Perez' movies. Most of us have language issues in our relationships. Only a few here I think are both fluent in the other's language. I think this will just add to the fun of the first year as long as you don't get a short temper

I would definitely have your brother and your parents do the cosponsor papers. Since you all have equal access to the accounts any one of you could drasticly reduce the funds. Because of joint control, your sponsorship without your parents' would be meaningless. At least that would be my interpretation if I was reviewing the case.

I know many children raised with two languages. It is easier for the children than the rest of the family. From all that I have seen and from teaching ESL to children, I would say that the most important part is making it clear who speaks which language. If you always use Chinese with the child and the father always uses English. This prevents confusion of mixing the languages. My Grandfather's parents spoke German. To make sure they spoke English my Great Grandfather had a firm rule. "To your siblings and me you will speak English. With your Mother you will use German so that you will never forget it." Even without more than 6th grade educations the children all became successful business people fluent in English. My Grandfather associated with Mayors, Senators and Movie personalities and his English was excellent. This syystem works better and faster than any I know. It gives the child clear cut immersion in both languages. Happy Child Rearing

So Jim, what time do you get into SH? Can you make it to the hospital after arrival? At least have her do the payment for the interview first. That must be done before the physical.

I just bought my plane ticket today. The Black Goat will be there. Hey that sounds like something our Govenator would say.

Makes you wonder if the wives would stick it out for us if they had an idea of the crazy place they are coming too. But then how else would they prove that this is a republic. Although you would think someone in authority would have heard the old addage United We Stand Divided We Fall.

Once you have the Permanent Residence Status (Green Card) there is no problem coming and going as long as you spend the required time each year in the U.S.

Sorry to hear the bad news. Keep at it and you will get through the bureaucratic delays. At least they gave you reasons and a list to complete. Get it together and you wont have to wait for another interview. I'd get everything notarized. Are you self employed? It seems their concern is more about the evidence for the Affidavit of Support more than anything else. Good luck.
