  1. Maybe America is not on the decline ...check out this book. http://www.amazon.com/Next-100-Years-Forec...1156&sr=1-1
  2. Fay's 10 year green card finally arrived...and much quicker than we anticipated. Question: If we decide to move, do we we need to notify the USCIS? Any paperwork? B)
  3. correction in my previous post: Yanfei is NOT involved with the military
  4. Since my wife, Yanfei has not left the states since her arrival and is involved with government or military, passport photos of her are not required with submission of the I-751, correct? That is the way I am reading it on the instructions anyway (below). I am asking because I vaguely recall someone posting that two passport photos are required with the I-751 submission regardless. I tried to locate the post but no luck . Exception: Those who reside overseas pursuant to military or government orders, including conditional resident dependents residing overseas and listed under Part 5 of the form, must submit the following items with Form I-751: 1. Two passport-style photos for applicants and dependents, regardless of age.
  5. My wife has a substantial bank account (Bank of China) on the mainland and she wishes to transfer the funds to her U.S. account. We have the U.S. account information needed to give to the Bank of China but I have been going over their website http://www.bocusa.com/ and can't find any clear info on the matter. I think I may have found a form on the site that has to be submitted for transfer but I am not sure if it is the correct form. Has anyone ever done this and if they have, can it be done through the Bank of China located here in the U.S.? On the form I found, it asks for "Betting Account" number. I am not well versed in this at all . Can anyone point me in a direction or give some advice? I am probably naive to think this can be done painlessly Thanks! Curt
  6. What is the usual wait time between the biometrics and the AOS interview? The biometrics were done on 3-16-06.
  7. March 16th. So far...so good... Fay is happy.
  8. Does the biometrics appointment happen before approval or can it happen after approval? I am a bit unclear on this. Also...we recieved our I-797 notice of action on the I-485 on December 6th. and to date, haven't heard anything yet. For those of you who have already passed this point, do we still have a bit of a wait yet before we hear anything?
  9. Ok....Am I to understand that 90 days after her entry into the U.S., my wife cannot get a SSN based on just her K-1? That she will need the EAD now? She came here Aug. 19th. and the end date on the I-94 is Nov. 15th. I went to a SS office and that is what the "lady" told me at the local SS office. She said the K-1 was expired and that my wife was here illegally. Can you beleive that? I almost luahged in her face. When I said thank you (for nothing...I felt like saying that )and we got up to leave, she actually grinned at us like she was satisfied we didnt get what we came for. Will I have to wait for the 1-485 to be processed to get the SSN?
  10. Does the I-485 have to be sent in before the K-1 visa expires since we are already married? I have the form finished but I still have to get the stamp of approval from a civil surgeon concerning her vaccinations. But...we have run into a delay. It is possible that Yanfei is pregnant so she cannot get her MMR and Chickenpox vaccination until we are sure she is not. After we learned of the danger of these vaccinations to an unborn, I took her to have her tested to see whether or not she had already recieved these immunizations in China. Yanfei cannot rmember if she did or not. Soo...the results of her tests wont be in until the end of this week...and on the 19th, her visa expires. Any worrys ? Penalties $$ ? btw...I did find a CS who would do just the vaccination supplement for us without a physical. Cost: $25 Very Cool
  11. Thanks Guys for the info. We are not in much of a mess as I thought.
  12. Yanfei has told me she has had vaccinations of some sort but that she has no records at all in her possesion...great... What vaccinations are required? I have about 11 days to file the I-485 and this comes up. Sheesh...I am sure it will cost an arm and a leg. No sense going to the civil surgeon until this is done, am I right?
  13. Hello everyone. I am filling out Yanfei's AOS paperwork finally and I have a few questions. Sorry if some of there are stupid questions. 1.) The I-94 # is the departure number on the front top left of the I-94 form attached to her visa? 2.) Where would I find her non-immigrant visa number on her visa? Is it that long series of letters and numbers at the bottom of her visa? 3.) In the instructions of the AOS, it states that if the K-1 applicant has already had the medical examinations to obtain the visa to the states, only the vaccination supplement paper work need be submitted. I asked Yanfei where this paperwork was at and she replied that she gave it all to the immigration officer upon her entry. What should I do in regards to this? I am stumped.
  14. Hi,this is Yanfei Clawson ,wife of marsofborg. We are befuddled as how to fill out the papers of adjustments of status. Please give some advices. Thanks!
