  1. Well, they never had asked for the Divorce papers at any time during any of the previous steps, so I figured that I would have to present them this go round. If no one asks for them well, that woill be more money wasted , LOL What's the deal about a 2 hole punch for the Documents? This is the first time I heard that one. Which ones get it, which ones dont? And where do I punch them, besides right in the nose LMAO Thanks
  2. Ok, here is how I am setting up the AOS Packet and would like some input as well as information. Packet A: I-765 Packet B: I-485 Containing the following: A copy of her Birth Papers, Complete copy of her passport, Copy of I-94, Copy of SSN Card, Copy of State Issued ID, Copy of Marraige Lisence. (Will be adding to this packet the I-693 and copies of all of her medical documents that we had done before she left china. Packet C: Form G-325 Packet D: Form I-864 Containing the following: Past 3 years of Tax records, Employment Letter, Copy of My birth certificate, Copy of My Complete Passport with Issued Visas. Is there anything that I am leaving Out? For some reason I am thinking that I will need to supply a copy of any & All divorces but I am not too sure as to what packet to include it in. Ok all, Go for the free for all, Let me have it, LOL
  3. Ok, that form is complete. Now Am I to understand correctly that we will need to fill out yet another set of the forms G-325a forms? if so, do we fill it out using her married name now or just like we did the first time with the first set that I sent in along with the orriginal application? Thanks
  4. Ok, Now that she has been here for 3 weeks now, we have her State ID, her SSN (Valid for work only with DHS Auth.) , We are also Now Married, (as of 2 weeks ago) Now comes the fun part. Now that we are married, dose her status change, and if so, How? She came here on a K-1, so now what I am thinking is that if it does change, would it change to a K3 stauts, or what? I am TOTALY CONFUSED!! Looking at the I-765, there at the bottom, it is asking for a 3 part number (xxx) (xxx) (xxx) Looking at the section & #2, Im not too sure as to what to select to put in those boxes. Any Clarification? Thanks Oh yeah, Instead of making Numerous posts in reguards to the remaining process of our course of action, I hope that no one minds if I continue to just post all our questions that may come up in this one post. To us, this will help us to be able to keep track of our course of actions as well as a great records keeper. Thanks
  5. Ok, here is a weird one all; i have looked through EVERYTHING, & there is nothing on anything (Passport, Visa, I-94 ) None of them have anything that begins with "A" and then numbers. The Only thing she has on her Visa that has a number that begins with a letter is that Long ass on at the Very Bottom of her visa that contains a wide mixture of Letters & Numbers. So Now What do we do? Thanks
  6. We just got back to NC, via China Southern from Nanning to Lax & then Delta from LAX to ATL then onto CLT. Here is what we experianced & did: We both carried 2 SUPER LARGE CASES 18"x 10" X 36" 1 Large Suitcase Standard pull behind (Looks like an old original suitcase 2 Carry Ons. we had to pay an over limit charge in nanning along with a 1600 rmb charge for her dogs large kennle After getting to GUZ, we reverified the weights of each suitcase (by finding a vacant ticket desk & used the scale there. We ended up taking out of one bag & placing the contents into another, making sure that none of the large cases exceeded 32 kg. and each of the carry ons not exceed 10kg. For the extra large suitcase & the dog, we paid about 3,000 rmb. BE SURE AND KEEP YOUR RECIEPTS HANDY upon arriving in LAX. Any way, our bags followed us as well as the dog, and never had to pay anything more. As for LAX & Customs & Immigrations: If she doesn't have children comming with you, you should be able to go through any of the lines that are there. Just be sure and pick up & Have her fill out the I-94 (they have them in both english & chinese forms)form that will be on your right upon entering the immigrations area. NOTE:(Keep her passport, ID, & I-94 handy in one place as you may be asked to present them at security at the domestic level) Upon getting back to NC, after spending 2 days of recouperating from the flight, We assembeld everything for an Early Monday start. On Monday we arrived at the Social Security office at 7am (Our office services 5 counties so the earlier you get there, the faster in & Out) We were the first ones to be seen, and we presented her I-94, Passport, Visa, Birth Papers along with my passport & Drivers Lisence. The woman processed it & then told us that my So would recieve her SSN in about 14 days. On Tuesday, we got married at the JP at 10am. Then off to our New Apartment to attempt to try and get things into order. The following Monday, we recieved her SSN in the mail so we figured what the heck, lets see if we could get a copy of our Marraige Lisence. Low & be hold, we were able to get 3 copies of that and so off to the DMV's office to get her State Issued ID. By 2pm, we had all that we needed to begin filling out the AOS Forms. But, with all of the expences incurred for the trip, new Apt, Deposits for utilities etc & of course, the initial Grocery Shopping & Furniture shopping (GOD Guys, Get your self prepared, for if your SO is anything like mine, once they hit the stores here, you will soon beging to hear the checkbook crying, LOL) Any way, we are both out on the road now for my work, so that we can rebuild the finances before submitting the AOS. This is also a treat for her as she is getting to see most of the eastern sea board and she is able to also work along side of me which she is just thrilled with the amount of money that she is able to make with so little effort. During all of this time we have learned many of her first times likes & dislikes when it comes to food, LOL Like Tobasco sauce. (ended buying a case of the stuff as in her words, it makes everything taste better) likes Bo-Jangles, could care less about Italian, but Loves pizza, (Go-Figure) Loves banana splits, and can not figure out just why she can not drink the aroma of coffee, so Now when i make coffee in the morning, I make a pot double strong for her, and a reg for me. Oh and she loves Duncan Donuts Moca-Late` and carmle mokiota late`. I will try my best to get on here at least once a week between now & when we get ready to do the AOS Forms, as I am sure we will have many questions at that point. But until then, we will try & do what we can to help with others in their questions as to what we our selves experianced. Thanks to all of you that have assisted us in our adventure & if asked, yes, we would do it all over again.

  8. BEIJING (CNN) -- The U.S. embassy is warning American citizens traveling to China to exercise caution after learning of a possible terror threat concerning the country's hotels. "The embassy has learned that Chinese police advised hotels that Islamic extremist elements could be planning to attack four- and five-star hotels in China sometime over the course of the next week," said an advisory issued by the Office of American Citizen Services. "Chinese authorities have assured the embassy that they are taking appropriate security measures and investigating the possible threat thoroughly." The possible threat apparently did not target any specific area of China. No further details were immediately available.
  9. We have is health Cert. as we got it 2 days ago. But I was talking to another foriegner here who was here & who has taken his dog all over the world & he stated that out of another Airport here in china, they made him ship his dog via Freight. GOD! TELL ME THAT ISN'T SO? We are BOTH SO WORRIED> Oh well, its off to the Airport to run the Gauntlet, If all goes well, we should be back in NC in a couple of days. See you all then & Thanks
  10. We are getting ready to leave tomorrow and as it is, from Nanning to GUZ, they are determined & has my SO convinced that the ONLY way to ship him is through their Freight Dept. Ok, that's fine, but upon getting to Guangzhou, they Again are saying that we will not be able to take him through the First series of Customs (Just berfore the Check In Counters & where you check your Bags) The SO says that we will need to take hom to ANOTHER part of the Airport & have his be placed on the plane by a Freight Company. WELL BS! I just finished talking to a lady from Delta & she has assured me that What I need to do is go to the counter to check our House of Suitcases, and at the same time check the Dog as a Kennal ($75) and from their we will then pick him up in LAX at the Cutoms counter Down stairs. CAN ANY ONE assist me in understanding this dillema before I begin to pull out my hair and go Koma-Kazi! At this point, I'm about to just go fishing with a large can of bait & stap the top on an Extra Large size can of WOOOOOP - ASS. Please Help. Thanks.
  11. What Software is being used on those other PC's? It may just mean that you may need to chang the software to view ie: Creative Power DVD Pro or of the alike.
  12. Judging by your time line, NOPE it's not you so you still have to wait in line LOL And no, he hasn't a clue yet as she is just in the beginning stages of finding out his true intentions. Just the other day she found out that he is living with another woman & at times, its the other woman that has said some pretty mean things to her about her. I guess if I was our friend, I'd want to pull the plug too
  13. Alex, The best suggestion I can offer you is that if you have a bank card with the visa logo and on the back of it it has the Cirrus and star logos, then you shouldn't have any problems with ANY of the Bank of China machines. I do however suggest that you contact your bank & inform them of your plans & to ensure you that they will infactwork here. Sometimes you have to go by the bank to sing some form so that they will accept an ATM Transactions during your vist. They will want to ask you for your expected Daily limit that you will want on your card & then they will submit that into your account. This way, it helps to protect them as well as you. Once these things are in order, you shouldn't have any problems. As always, after using an ATM here (Preferably just outside the bank itself) go inside the bank & count your money there to make sure that the machine gave you the correct ammount. Have a safe trip, as we are flying out of GUZ on the 2nd, so maybe we will see each other. If not, Good luck to you & have a safe trip.
  14. From what we can gather, she states that he has come to know her true networth (Apparently far greater than his) and he has stated that once they are married that he will take half of it should they get married & she later chooses to divorce him. As you & I both should know, the chinese are very frugal with their money. It's like Gold & they are not about to part with it if they do not have to, especially if it was money before the marraige. So both the SO & I agree that she may be right in seeing him as what we call a gold digger back in the states. But as you all stated on that info, I will print it out for her & give it to her & let her make that final decision for herself, as there in no way either of us wishes to get caught up in that love / Hate deal. Just let them work it out or go their seprate ways.
  15. Hi all, The So & I have a friend here in Nanning that has come to us and has asked how would she go about stopping the I-129 that her Male counter part has submitted on her behalf? Due to the reasons beyond our control and to keep a neutral ground and not take any sides, the SO & I decided to ask here, and we would then pass the info onto her friend. We do Know that they have already been approved (NOA1 possibly 2 by this point) and have the case number that she has given us to help her determine the status of her case. But after explaining to her that once she stops this process, it will be very difficult for her or them to begin it again, should they reconcile their diffrences, therefore she should choose wisely & excersice exteam caution before she continues in that direction. Does anyone know how this process can be haulted on her behalf, or what she may need to do? Thanks
  16. Ok, that is almost a given, right? But how would our SOs apply or obtain such assistance in lets say, any of the following, if Any: She wants to start her own Business - Say Hair Dressing or a Clothing Store She wants to Buy a House - Should she feel our house is in adequet or what ever She wants to Buy a Car She wishes to go to College - say to get a lisence for hair dressing, message, or what ever. Any input of knowledge on that?
  17. Just Posted the Most ASC Warden's Warning about the situation & Have concurred with the US Embassy here in GUZ that THEY WILL, IN FACT, coinside with China's Ruling that should China Decide to close it's boarders due to the flu, It will mean Just that. NO ONE IN & NO ONE OUT, NO EXCEPTIONS. The guy who answered the phone and gave me that info stated that the Embassy is quietly suggesting that any Americans who are here now, & feel that they may get traped here, they should contact their airlines to see if they will be able to accomdate them due to the recent information released by the CDC. (For what it's worth)
  18. U.S. CONSULATE GENERAL GUANGZHOU <<...OLE_Obj...>> This Fact Sheet alerts Americans to the most recent occurrences of Influenza A H5N1 (avian influenza strain) in Asia. A number of countries are reporting cases of avian influenza, commonly referred to as "bird flu" in their domestic and wild bird populations. The H5N1 strain of influenza causes severe disease in domesticated fowl. In addition, there are confirmed cases of bird-to-human transmissions of avian influenza in the South East Asia region, many of which have resulted in death. Please visit the WHO website, http://www.who.int/csr/disease/avian_influenza/country/en/ for the most up to date information on the countries affected and the number of deaths. The vast majority of the known human cases have resulted from direct contact with poultry, and there is only limited evidence to suggest possible human-to-human transmission. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Department are concerned about the potential for human-to-human transmission of this highly dangerous flu strain, and are working closely with other partners in an effort to monitor the outbreak. Concerns about the possibility of an avian influenza pandemic have prompted international and national efforts to institute pandemic preparedness measures. In keeping with the CDC and the WHO guidance, the Department of State is working with its embassies and consulates worldwide to prepare in the event of a pandemic. American citizens traveling to or living in countries where avian influenza is prevalent should consider the potential risks and keep informed of the latest medical guidance and information in order to make appropriate plans. The Department, the CDC and the WHO have not issued any travel alerts or warnings for avian flu-infected areas. However, the CDC advises travelers to countries in Asia with documented H5N1 outbreaks to avoid poultry farms, contact with animals in live food markets, and any surfaces that appear to be contaminated with feces or fluids from poultry or other animals. In addition, the Department has asked its embassies and consulates to consider preparedness measures that take into consideration the fact that travel into or out of a country may not be possible, safe or medically advisable. Specific CDC travel information relating to avian influenza, including preventive measures is available at <http://www.cdc.gov/flu/avian/index.htm.WHO> guidance related to avian influenza is available at <http://www.who.int/csr/disease/avian_influenza/en/>. A specific vaccine for humans that is effective against avian influenza has not yet been developed. Based upon limited data, the CDC has suggested that the anti-viral medication Oseltamavir (brand name-Tamiflu) may be effective in preventing or treating avian influenza. Using this input, the Department of State has decided to pre-position the drug Tamiflu at its Embassies and Consulates worldwide, for eligible U.S. Government employees and their families serving abroad. Tamiflu may not be readily available overseas and the State Department encourages American citizens traveling or living abroad that are interested in obtaining this medication to consult with their physician. There is no provision for the U.S. government to provide American citizens traveling or living abroad with medications, including in the event of a pandemic. Americans who are planning travel to a country that has reported the virus or who are concerned about the Avian flu are advised to monitor the CDC and the WHO web sites for the latest information. Additional country information can be obtained from the Department of State's Consular Information Sheets at <http://travel.state.gov> and from the Department of State's toll-free number, 1-888-407-4747, or if calling from overseas, 202-501-4444. 19. It would definately help and it would defiantely be fairly secure as only the petitioner & the Beneficiary would be the only ones that would know their GUZ number (That is, if that is the way they would post that info, By Guz# only ) How about it GUZ? It would free up the need for additional Telephone lines needed to answer these types questions. It would be a far better of human resources by utilizing them to assist in the file processing time not to mention it would help your office to get a bit further in the total process times.
  20. Unless you can show proof of a need for a Business visa for a 1 year multi entry, I think that all you can get is the 30 day single. But then again, I may be wrong.
  21. Its been our experiance here in Nanning that if you have purchased a New, fully lisenced computer, weather it be from DELL, HP, or who ever there are at least 3 major things to consider: 1) Most Newer computers now have there power watages & amps listed on their power suppies and most will excetp the 50mhz 110 - 220V. But what they do not tell you is that most of those power supplies will only stand up to the abusive voltage that china has for about 6 months, maybe shorter before they just burn out. Depending upon which make & model, a replacement power supply can rages from $30 to as much as $150+ 2) If you order a computer from such palces as Del, HP etc, Do so from their 1-800 #'s. There you can specify the default language of the OS to them and that is how you will recieve it. Already configured & with the Software you specify. 3) If you buy a computer from the US with the Latest Wix XP with SP2 & all of the recent updates, and then try doing an upgrade with a pirated chinese ver, you can not only expect to have a series of issues with the machine, but you will also Void any warantee that cam with it. Even if you use the Computers Restore Disks, the Computer reservs a small ammount of space in it's HD that records everytime the Restore Disks are used. This space is un-formatable (unless a low level format is done) and is meant to be that way so that tech-support can have an actual record of just what might be the issues that is giving you problems. If they see that you had installed ANY unlicened or Pirated software on the machine, they consider the warenty null and void Just a few things to consider before you make that purchase
  22. The Best Advice I can offer to you on this is this: How important is the Visa Approval to you? If it is as important to you as it has been to most of us here, may I suggest that if the Great GUZ tells you to bring your Family dog & it better do tricks, by all means, Make it Happen. I know that this may sound a bit crude, but it's definately true. The sooner you get into that line, the far better chances you will have in getting out that much sooner. And should they ask for you to stand on your head, well, then that is what you do. Yes, I understnad that my way of looking at this process is a bit harsh, but to me, when you want something soo bad & is so Important, I'm willing to do what ever it takes, to see to it that we are finally together. I would hope that you would be too
  23. Well, We have been using VOIP & for the Money, and flexability, it has worked for us. I can call anywhere in the Continental USA for free, ($29.00 / mo) talk as long as we want 24 hrs/ day. When I call to china, it's about .32/min. Now what is wierd is, I brought the Voip box with me when I came here to assist the SO with packing, have called home seveal times, & I have yet to get a bill. Not one red Cent. Nothing, Nadda. Pretty cool if you ask me. So, I have ordered another box to give to her sister (since her sister has DSL_ and we are hoping the good fortun will continue. If so, then it would be a great deal & she will be able to stay intouch with her family
