  1. Griz, been awhile since I had to do this. However, POE for Yin was Chicago. She had her packet sealed with the GUZ interview documents and X-ray in her hand. They didn't want the X-ray at POE and it was relegated to a reserved space in our closet. All other documents are taken at POE and later sent to holding area just outside of St. Louis. When my wife and I settled in Oklahoma City and filed Change of Location notice and intent of doing AOS there (My case Oklahoma City, OK, Obviously, yours will be a different office) However, I digress. The packet of information that you surrendered at POE for your girls will then be forwarded to whatever office needs/requests them. Then you simply continue on with your AOS or whatever other applications you are doing. I was a bit surprised. The system seems to work very efficiently! Inside of our packet (I did K-3 Visa) was the original envelopes, that I mailed in way back when. BTW, the USCIS, does have computer tracking and follows electronic "footprints" of every step of the packet and/or your girls. They do this in the case that some information does get misplaced. Like I stated previously, a remarkably efficient system, despite all the organized confusion at GUZ. Dave I'm editing this and adding a piece of information that will help you get settled. The medical records that your girls have had from private physicians are a given. I would suggest translating and notarizing them in China, to cut costs and later given to their new physcian. The largest problem we had was education records. Yin didn't bring her college transcripts and caused no end of headaches for us, going back and doing what we should have done in the first place. Here is a link that will should tell you what to bring and how it should be presented in the US for evaluation: http://www.ierf.org/ . This is one company, however most other agencies will operate similarly. On this issue, cost is the big decision- maker
  2. Amanda, You might have him look at the divorce decree paperwork again, as long as he gets the entire packet from the court. BTW, I'm not referring to the final decree as you mentioned in your previous post. The information won't be there. You/He will have to ask the clerk to get the entirety of the workup legal folder. Both attorneys and the respective court need this information and will be within the respective folder. BTW, this also includes childrens names, etc, etc. All principal litigants in most cases in locales where I been will have a small portion for background information in the file. If you simply ask for the divorce decree...that is exactly what the clerk will give you. In regard to the section question, for information that I didn't/couldn't obtain I did exactly this. I made a notation of the G-325, To See Attached Sheet. Then I simply went to Micrsoft Word, inserted a chart with the respective number of block to identify information categories. I then filled in the blocks with information and/or gave them a very short explanation why I didn't have the information; Unknown Location, etc, etc. I did a K3 Visa and USCIS GUZ and later when applying for AOS at USCIS Oklahoma City, OK and had no issues from either one of them. I would point out that if you do this, I suggest that you put a signature block on the bottom, that is identical to the original form G-325, to show that it an official part of the original form. 3. D, Just to echo your thoughts' The Japanese, Chinese, Malaysian, Chinese, Indonesian, Korean and Pinay network is so strong in the Houston area......it would blow you away! Same as in LA and many, many, many other cities, including San Diego. Gentlemen! Do you really think that you are the only game/marriage in town? If you believe this; you are sadly delusional! I speak other Oriental languages, enough to understand what they mean. Believe me gentlemen when I say that you better have your act together in love and your marriages and with what you have today! You are high priced goods today! Crap on what you have today?; You definitely will pay tomorrow That is what I stated in two other posts. After 4 years of inter-cultural marriage, I'm still learning what makes my wife "tick"! I'm no idiot! However, learning a Chinese woman is leaning about what makes her heart strong, learning about yourself at the same time. Now you know where some of my sarcastic humor comes from. Frank, this is no diatribe about you or implicating the both of you. I applaud your efforts to stand behind your decisions and your wife. Few men have this type of resolve today. I pray that both of you emerge from this situation intact, somewhat-scarred, but the wiser for the both of you. Life can only be better. One more small piece of advice is that both of you, is to sit down with each other and quietly discuss what both have to lose and gain. Truly Frank, have you done every effort to obtain a career for your wife in Las Vegas? I personally know, that I have not done as much as I can can to help my own wife. There is no one to blame but myself! I want my wife out of the house, gain her own self-worth, improve herself intellectually, etc, etc. May I be blunt? Your wife ain't going to be happy or change the world this being a massage therapist or whatever! That is why both of you need to talk. Find out what turns her on, educationally speaking. I assure you of this and is the same with my wife, she will state that she knows no English language, everyone hates the Chinese, they didn't do it this way in China, etc, etc, etc. There isn't a single excuse that I haven't heard. When I resolve all of her excuses and anxieties? She will come up with a new one! As a illustration point. My own wife turned down training as a pharmacist assistant due too much required research is needed everyday and on-going to stay current. She decided that a Dental Assistant would be better. However, she needed X-Ray specs/quals are needed to get a good career. I sent her to school. Unfortunately, I get to pay too! LOL! Find out what really turns your wife on! It may be something that you think that is stupid and inane, like painting flowers on a plate or whatever. However, it makes her happy! Not you will happy! She is happy doing what she loves! That is what you need to discover. What she loves. I have seen many soldiers is the same predicament as that that you are in now. Talk and LISTEN to her! The ramblings may be obtuse, however this what you chose to marry. Get used to it and LISTEN to her. Your wife and yourself have a very, very long way to go my acquaintance. My PM is always open as is probably many others. However, you have many miles to go with your own wife and much to learn from both of you. I sincerely hope that don't abandon CFL because of my words. We truly want to help. However, there are times when we can advise, but the both of you need to help yourselves. Advice is readily available on this forum. This being aside, I need advice. What does 5,000 years of Chinese culture vs 270 years of US culture have to do with with me having to make dinner and wash the dishes? I think I'm being suckered. As you might have noticed some of your problems will never go away, Frank!
  4. Frank, I debated whether or not to touch this issue. I'm not known for a long sense of patience and immediately will call a spade, a spade. Kindness ain;t my forte' However, in your situation I'm intimately familiar with it and it also happened in Houston per chance. However, this had to do with a Korean woman/women. This was approximately 12 years back or so. I was a Platoon Sergeant in Fort Hood TX, 75 miles north of Austin. One of my soldiers married a Korean woman, brought her back to the US. She didn't speak English very well. I spoke Korean semi-fluently and attempted to help her find gainful employment. Korean women are no different than Chinese women. They gather in small groups and aid/comfort each other. Needless to say, Yong fell into the same trap as your wife did. Promises of job tips, millions of dollars to be made, easy hours, no language needed, no proof of education needed, etc, etc. She went to Houston. Same Houston PD, made the same identical sting you spoke of. All were swept into the net, for prostitution, solicitation of prostitution, resisting arrest, possession of drugs, etc, etc. IMHO, Houston PD had many of them dead to rights! Some were innocent, many were not! Texas doesn't have a new set of Draconian laws differing from the rest of the majority of the US. As a side note, I enjoyed Texas laws, since my ex-wife could protect herself better in Texas than anywhere else in the US. However, I digress. As a side thought. are you absolutely sure that you are not turning a blind eye to what may be on-going? I don't want to impinge on your lady's honor. Just intellectual fodder for you to ponder. Albeit, there is little doubt that prostitution was going on. Many others pointed and suspected this and you find them at your leisure. They simply are being polite. However, in this type of operation; all are guilty until proven innocent! Was it all of them? I don't know. Was your wife involved? Only you!: can answer this question! Only a husband or a lover knows his wife best. And at times this can be tenuous at best! My wife and I are still learning each others secrets, after 4 years of marriage. No! Not past lovers! The items that truly mundane household items make a Chinese woman and our marriage tick! Dave and Yong had a soldier's monthly funds incoming and even less in savings. Being in their financial state, they opted for a Public Defender. Upon his (PD's) advice and David's acquiesce, she pled no contest to the charges and was given a short term of unsupervised probation, time served and was released immediately. 2 years later, this crime of moral turpitude had a huge impact. It came up immediately. She and her husband divorced later, but she still lives under the net. Please remember this was pre-9/11 and approx 10 years ago. These days, post-9/11, advances in computer networking, etc make this a short-lived daydream to escape forever. Someday, someone will come knocking. It is not a matter of if! It is a matter of when! My suggestions: 1) Get every piece of legal paperwork there is. Doesn't matter if it was jail-house inventory. Keep all of it it in a separate folder. 2) You probably have already a competent attorney. Good! No plea deals. If she pleas no contest, both of your proverbial boat's are sunk. Fight like Hell, if you wish to remain with her! 3) Under no circumstances, should she be associated with her former associates. Both of you will be under a microscope, why would one want to complicate things if further checks are conducted? 4) Start getting your letter of explanation together, today! You know they will ask for it! Why wait and have a hastily typed explanation for them at the last minute? 5) You and your wife need to get a game-plan together and I mean right now. The Texas area as far as I remember is a fast track site. Your appointment will be with you very, very soon. I did a post a while back on this. Check my postings. My wife Yin did her biometrics, she was later given an appointment. On her appointment, they (USCIS) reviewed her paperwork and she was interviewed the same day. You better have items 1 - 4 answered in your hand. I assure you that USCIS in your area is far more efficient in the US than GUZ. They have already been computer networking. My final piece of advice and the most sensitive. I went back and read your past postings. Are you sure you wish to pursue this issue? You can only answer this yourself. If her child and her are worth it...then go for it. Back her up all they way. However, there is always the other hand. If the losses you sustain are beyond what they worth, then I suggest you cut and run! In either case, you will be a winner. However, winning in either case does not mean that your heart, mind and soul are not hurt at the same time. Time heals all wounds. However, the solution does not come from you; The eventual solution comes from the both of you, agreed upon by both of you and followed by the both of you. I hope that I have not tread upon your heart and mind too terribly. I understand the stress that much be in your lives right now. I have attempted to curb my usual sarcasm. My PM is always open and I will not condemn any thoughts you have or assistance that I can give will be non-prejudicial. Dave
  5. Carl, Thanks from Yin and myself. I told her of the end of the the story. Needless to say, it had the expected result; Small tears and depression throughout the day. Carl, please retire this thread memorable thread/thread. New members will never look at it I'm afraid! Older members maybe will go back. Of this Im in doubt of also. May I have a private E-mail address for the family? This is from the family or any CFL members. I don't have a short memory. I have never forgotten or left a man behind. I don't plan on staring a new habits. Again Yirong, Jeff and family. My deepest and most sincerest condolences from one soldier to your family and from another soldier. The links that I did are the very least I could have done more. Yin and I both feel that you did the best thing for him. That was to simply hug him and his eyes closed forever. I'm so happy that the end was peaceful. Thank you for this memory. We will not forget. Dave and Jiang Yin
  6. Ken, Yirong and family, My prayers to all of you for the loss of Gerald. I am happy that he could still see our posts to the end. He will be missed. Dave
  7. Sorrrry! Doug Next time I'll throw photos in for you! Did you forget the BB and the thread of Stupid things? My wife decided to barbecue fish on the burners of the stove. She was extremely proud of her efforts. After all it was her first time having a barbecue grill. However, the circular scorch marks on the sides of the fish, caused more than a slight amount of distaste. Most esp, since I got to wash the dishes and the stove too! Thankfully, she is past this now!
  8. Very lucky , once I get past the silliness! Does make life interesting though. NEVER a dull moment! However, there was that one time she tried barbecuing fish on the burners of the stove! That needed a lot of love! Dave
  9. Well, folks time for me to get off my duff and do a short thesis on my wife Yin (aka the ¡°Sichuan Prejudiced Chef¡±) For newer members who wonder where this title comes from, here are the links. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...c=20888&hl= http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...c=12339&hl= http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...c=21202&hl= http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...c=12455&hl= http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...c=21856&hl= The first link that is posted was in regard to her hunting flies in Oklahoma City, OK. When your wife/fianc¨¦e first arrives in the US, I don¡¯t know of a single man/woman that isn¡¯t justifiably proud of their new Partner for Life. They greatest desire is for their new partner to be accepted by society in general, her new married family¡¯s acceptance. The man or woman is justifiably proud, in love (hopefully so) and wants their new partner not to look like some strange apparition from a foreign country. I think that the reader can catch my drift, when I discussed my ¡°Chef¡± hunting flies outside of our home. The reader probably says it can¡¯t get much worse David! WRONG! 2 years or so later today, my wife Yin has developed into a beautifully Western acclimated Chinese woman, that is, beautiful, well-dressed, soft-spoken, kind, empathetic, family-caring woman. The epitome, of a beautiful intercultural marriage Right? Wrong! Her cultural leanings have now extended into the study of the indigenous wildlife of California in the San Diego. Specifically, in the field of Ornithology (Bird Study). I am not cognizant of too many men that would go to the great length and patience that I have. I mean I didn¡¯t complain, when she equipped herself with two large books (one from James Audobon, Orinithological Biography, one of California birds), retrieve the binoculars I own and head to the beach, driven by you-know-who (guess who was the mule for the foods and all accessories! Rhetorical question!), and began making observations of¡seagulls? Personally IMHO, a seagull, is a brazen bandit, that would sell it¡¯s own mother to have just ONE more meal. This extended over three weekends until she finally lost interest. I want to save face. However, when I approached the beach for these outings, every DAMN Californian¡¯s eye I felt was on us! I saw more that one look of WTF? as we walked past them. I could swear that I heard some snickers. However, I could not locate the authors of the snickers! Therefore, kept a stiff chin a resolute attitude and kept walking. However, I digress. After the ¡°seagull-phase¡± (Thanks GOD!) passed, she looked in her reference materials at other birds. She was excited to find many hummingbirds are native here in California. Therefore, she resolutely determined to track them down! I was commissioned for funding of her next expedition. 1) The funds for the feeders. 2) Additional reference books. 3) List of hyperlinks via Internet to track down these elusive creatures. 4) Assorted camera equipment in the case that she found one of the birds! 5) Etc etc, etc. Yin was finally satisfied that all was in order and began proceeding to hunt them down. The moment arrived! I was hungry and we had gone to a local Denny¡¯s restaurant. There happens to be a Hibiscus shrub that was in full bloom. We are entering and a hummingbird arrives and is hovering, eating the nectar from several flowers. Yin sees it and naturally being the Chinese naturalist she is, promptly declares that California has very large flies and that they are attacking the flowers. I felt sorry for her and told her that was a hummingbird and not a fly (myself, inwardly thanking God above she doesn¡¯t have a fly swatter in her hand). She looks at me in disbelief and after seeing that I¡¯m perfectly serious and then is delighted and wonders out loud if pet shops will sell the birds in the US. I thinking one thing and one thing only; ¡°Jesus Honey, does insanity or stupidity run so wantonly rampant in your family?¡± Ok, I won¡¯t be the atypical person that many on the CFL board see. Honey let¡¯s eat, OK? Yep! Gentlemen pick your battles carefully! Anyway, the birds began arriving at our hummingbird feeder, much to the Chinese naturalist/scientist¡¯s delight. However, they were more than a bit skittish, when Yin would run out on the porch with her camera for the given photo opportunity. I could understand the bird¡¯s perspective. How would you like it, it you sat down to dinner and suddenly someone begin snapping pictures of you eating? I finally explained that she needed to stay behind the shades and observe. She did wonder if they had enough to eat. What does this have to do with flies in Oklahoma, face-saving and a beautiful Chinese wife? I arrived home one day to see her outside the condo, watching over the bird feeder. Two people walked down the side walk and were promptly shooed away from the feeder area by Yin! Those hummingbirds were going to eat unmolested and have their own personal guard. I thought to myself that perhaps a bit of overtime would be required of me today! Or perhaps, several beers at a local Do-Drop-Inn! I don¡¯t want to be around when the locals call the San Diego¡¯s finest to intervene in their behalf! So much for the first issue, the second issue has more to do with cooking. As many are aware my wife is from the Sichuan Province, in the city of Chengdu. Fantastic cooking, hot pot, mapo dofu, twice-cooked-pork, the list is endless. They have their own particular style of flavor, which you only get when you are in their province. However as of late, I have noticed a disturbing trend with many Chinese and Yin esp. No matter what is done in the US, the Chinese and Yin can make it better. Especially in the culinary arena of expertise! Many times, Yin has referred to American cooking as cave-man food. This list encompasses, pizza, pork rinds, steaks, BBQ ribs, McDonalds restaurants and the ilk, the list is endless! Therefore, my Chinese ¡°Prejudiced Chef¡± has decided to lend a helping hand to the American civilization and save it! I will therefore cite my proof and you make the call. 1) I do love my steaks. I have my steaks custom cut and done to my perfection of medium well done with a slight oozing of blood. I had purchased 4 steaks in this manner. Beautiful T-bones steaks, 1.5 inches thick, nicely marbled small area of fat on the outside for flavoring. Cost me about $45.00 dollars total Unfortunately, Yin located them while I was at work. I returned home, anticipating a nice steak, supplemented with a salad, a good Bavarian brew, baked potato with all the trimmings. I entered the home and I saw Yin quietly sitting in her reading chair, with that small sly smile that Chinese women get when they have done something very clever. Gentlemen, this is when you need to watch out! You are about to be blown away with both barrels, at the same time, of a shotgun. I gave her my usual greeting to her, kiss on the cheek then went to shower and change clothes. She didn¡¯t say much, but still had that small smile when I left the room. I began changing clothes and there she was leaning against the doorjamb, with that same sly smile. ¡°Guess what I did today honey?¡± I replied I didn¡¯t know and I would let her finish. ¡°I saved us a lot of money. Those steaks had too much bone and fat on them!¡± You should save more, so I made Chinese-way beef with peppers!¡± Gentlemen it was at this time, that my mind went into shock! OHHHHH CRAP! I went to the refrigerator! YEP! Just as I suspected! Two of the steaks had been thin sliced (approximately 1/8 inches thick), marinated in brown bean sauce and was eventually, destined to be cooked with Anaheim peppers later for dinner! Bones and fat were gone also! I stood there in shock. I didn¡¯t trust myself to say anything. However the next day the two surviving steaks of the ¡°Chinese Massacre at El Cajon¡± were taken to safe refuge at my work place in our freezer we have there. The hardest part of this ordeal was when my wife asked how was the dinner she prepared was. She still was very proud of her ability to adapt and overcome the caveman mentality of the American public. I should mention that specialized foods that I have I still keep safely secured at work, until I can obtain two crazed pit-bull terriers to fasten at the refrigerator door. 2) I don¡¯t eat pizza often. However, when I do, I enjoy nothing better than getting ¡°the works.¡± Yin doesn¡¯t like pizza and in fact refers to it tasting like Chinese medicine in her taste. To the point. I have a telephone number of a particular place that I go to. They know me very well and I tip extremely well. My thinking is you will get what you pay for. The deliverymen and the cooks there know my taste intimately; recognize my voice (and unfortunately Yin¡¯s also) immediately. They take extra pains and get what I love the most. I was busy awhile back and asked Yin to call for a pizza. It was a particularly hectic day and I needed to stay focused on my job. Yin was only too happy to help her husband out! The order was placed and I returned to work, with happy thoughts of pepperonis, extra sauce, jalapenos peppers, extra cheese, chopped garlic pieces on my pizza when I came home! Ahhhhhh! The idiocy of a deluded man when married to a Chinese chef! I arrived home and saw that the delivery gentlemen had been there and already left. I saw the box on the kitchen counter and inwardly smiled to my self in anticipation. Then the odor hit me! Strange! It smells like Sichuan peppercorns! Hmmmmmm. Never mind! Yin must have made some sort of Chinese food earlier! Again, gentlemen; I saw that small sly smile that Yin posses. Since this time, I have learned since then to prepare for tsunamis, earthquakes, major riots, California wildfires and/or my wife has done something particularly clever. AGAIN! I did my usual routine, kissing her, got a cold beer from the refrigerator and prepared to take a shower. Yin arrives at the bathroom door, with that same insipid smile, that I have come to hate. Not the smile! Just the timing when the smile arrives. ¡°Honey! I made the pizza better!¡± Oh NO! Screw it what she has already done is done! You can¡¯t call a bullet back and I probably won¡¯t be able to fix what she has done either. I finished my shower and went to the table, which she had prepared for our dinner. Plates, silverware, a nice glass of wine for her, a nice heffenwitzen beer for me; and the pizza! The PIZZA! I looked at the pizza. It looked at bit unusual since enoki mushrooms covered the pizza. There was also enough red pepper that a hard-core Mexican would have broken down into tears trying to eat it, or a Chinese hot pot restaurant would have hailed my wife as the ¡°toast of society.¡± That is when the odor of Sichuan spices hit me again. This time, in full force. I love black pepper. I mean the kind that you use a pepper mill to render peppercorns usable with foods! Yep you guessed it! She had removed the peppercorns and replaced in the pepper mill and replaced the peppercorns with Sichuan pepper (hu¨¡ji¨¡o »¨½·; literally "flower pepper" coming from a near-relative of the ash tree genus Fraxinus.) No self-respecting Sichuan province native would be caught 5 feet away from this spice, in their cooking. I manage to choke three pieces down and I finally gave up. Meanwhile, she declined the pizza and settled for some chicken soup and rice that she had made the previous day. I took the pizza outside, and thoughtfully placed it near the dumpster for our complex. I thought that perhaps the dogs could get some benefit. The following morning, I took some trash to the dumpster. He pizza was still there, untouched needless to say! I cleaned it up and placed the box and pizza in the dumpster. However, I DO NOT believe the dogs have forgiven me for this personal attack on them. They keep eyeballing me and consistently crap or piss in front or near my condo door. I suspect that it is a full-fledged attack by them, seeking some type of retribution. Thank God for LOVE! It does put bandages on wounded prides and feelings with all of us. Dave
  10. K-1 can be filed now, since they have already met. To apply for a visa based on marriage, he would have to first travel there again and get married. Then he could apply for CR-1 (by filing the I-130), and, when he gets the I-797C NOA1 receipt, he could file for K-3. Rather than worrying about a denial, you are better off getting your evidence together Agreed. Go to PM mode. Dave

Second quarter no C's, all A's and B's, has to keep grades up to do all those sports he likes to do so much!! I did mention to him that it would cause his new family members to lose face if he did not "Ace" this test!! Mark, NO WAY! You wouldn't do this to your son, with a new Chinese family on the way to the West....... or would you!?! Just advise your wrestling son that his "Sycamore, Illinois" wrestling techniques won¡¯t stand a chance against a Chinese woman and her own 5,000-year-old ¡°death grip¡± of Chinese women wanting their children to be educated! Most especially, since the woman¡..can cut him off from her kitchen stove too! Ahhhh, well! Back to the books! Seriously, congratulations on his grades!

  13. Paul, This a bit lengthy so I wanted to help other board members at the same time I attempted to ask you base question. Here are several articles. I am cognizant that they are centered on the Shanghai area; however, most of the major cities (e.g. Chengdu, my wife¡¯s home town) pattern themselves in one way or another around Shanghai. I know that my wife¡¯s hometown laws aren¡¯t as strict, but they can be a real pain in the arse, though. Here are a few links. There are more, but these should get you started: http://www.petrelocation.com/petrules-23.html http://www1.china.org.cn/english/China/65206.htm http://www.web-rover.com/doglaw/china.php I¡¯m a former Doberman Pinscher owner, that had a schutzhund trained pet (schH2 ranking). Yin and I loved him very much and Typhon was extremely well mannered. This aside, when Yin and I moved to San Diego and we both went into sticker shock. My animal in many cities would have been classified as ¡°high risk,¡± pet fees, deposits were silly to ridiculous, even if a condo owner gave permission, then you have Vet bills, food bills, leash laws, moving around a major city to a dog park¡.and if this still isn¡¯t enough legal responsibility is some asshat teased and provoked the dog into attacking out of frustration. However, I understand the love owners have for their pets. I travel frequently and have been to China 7 times now, for business and pleasure. I have considered taking my animal with me. After researching this issue and IMHO only, I believe that you may be biting off a lot more than what you expect. And I will cite several issues you might want to consider. 1) Veterinarians are at a best case at a premium price, to some being poorly qualified and not qualified to treat anything above hamsters, gerbils and fish ich. (ick for those that don¡¯t know what I¡¯m talking about ) 2) Dog food issues. No jokes about tainted food, just that the food is lower quality in some aspects to Western manufacturers. This is all relative to what you want to feed your pets. I know that I couldn't get the food I would have wanted in Far East, without paying a premium price. From Dave's ESL cafe (forum for ESL Teachers), I know one pet-owner had their food flown in! 3) Medicine issues 4) What size is the animal/cat? Will a landlord take you in, with his good graces and soak you for extra money? 5) Space constraints, in walking the animal in a major city. 6) LEGAL responsibilities! 7) Quarantine issues and times. Most countries have you pay for the food while waiting in this period. They are NOT a charity! The people that do offer this service are going to nail you onto the proverbial Cross, with fees. They aren¡¯t in business to make you happy. BTW, you have the reverse problem when you leave China and return to the West, in whatever country you choose. Finally, theft. Both from the money aspect, and as a delicacy. Thankfully this is rare, but it still has happened in China. In either case, few Chinese people want to have the risk of being caught with a stolen animal, that they illegally obtained from a laowei. The Chinese police take an extremely dim view of foreigners being hit on and in my wife¡¯s hometown, expend a lot of effort cleaning this aspect up! Wife¡¯s family has two upper echelon police friends, who have related; ¡°Any problems, you come see me!¡± In whatever case, the animal will be disposed of immediately, so there is no evidence of possession. Perhaps, purchasing a cat or dog in China might be a better option. Hope the information helps you reach a well-reasoned decision. From one former owner to you, I hope it turns out well. Dave
  14. If you really think she's playing a game with you, then I think you've pretty much answered your own question no? I'll be honest with my opinion. As I read your post I was thinking that she sounded pretty immature. Then when I saw her age it made sense. I'm sure there are plenty of very mature 24 year olds in China. She doesn't sound like one of them. Sorry. Drew, Don't really know what to say to comfort you. I do agree with several posters. However you have to decide for yourself. It sounds like she is playing the eternal Thailand game of matching suitors off against each other. Whoever has all the gold, makes the rules. However, this is my opinion only. IMHO, you have enough "red flags" What is the adage, throwing good money after bad? You have the start on an excellent well-paying career with the prospects of seeing it increase more in the future. You are 35, for God's sake! You can't find another person, that probably wouldn't stand in line to meet you? LOL However, one poster pointed out and I hope I paraphrase them accurately; "Money ain't everything! " Money is merely a "vehicle" to get from point A to B. No one has mentioned it yet, however, I will venture onto the long part of the branch. You might want to consult with an attorney, to size up your possible future options. No! I'm not saying that you are this stage yet! However, it might be prudent, to know exactly how much you have to lose! Most especially with your home(s). If she is a money grubbing babe, I can definitely assure you that she knows where the gold mine is! I truly pray that it works out for the both of you, no matter what the outcome is. Dave
  15. BTW, I was stringing along! My apologies to everyone. Never been better in my life! I'll follow Jim's advice and drop this matter entirely. Take care all. Dave
  16. Yes we should promote this type of behavior. Why don't we let our children subscribe to Hustler or some cable TV sex channel that shows beastiality? Let us show our future that the unglorius Sodomites are wonderful people and same sex marriage is a blessing. That would be Jolly good fun wouldn't? Pornography is for the social malcontented introverts that love to promote their thumb and 4 fingers and beleive in fantasy lovers. You say you do not watch Porn in China? What do you do you wait until you get home and watch it so your forearms look like Popeye's? Thank you Jerry Falwell. Dear Illinois Dave, I read a a number or your posts the last few days and I have found many of them very intelligent and enlightning. You are a very sharp man. My question to you is why do you wish to start uproar with your fellow CFL members with you remarks of negativity? You can not win nor can they in this pissing contest. The best thing to do is for all of us is not to play the game. So why didn't you post this the first time instead of tossing out a post insinuating that my reticence to some members seeming joy at Chinese gov't censorship of the internet was a promotion of children being given Hustler and beastiality on cable tv? Not to mention the not-so-veiled label "social malconted introvert." I'm being negative? As for your "clever" reference to Popeye and the activity you allude to regarding his forearms? 98 percent of men participate in this activity and the other 2 percent lie about it. There was no pissing match until you chimed in. I merely pointed out what I saw was the irony in US citizens, especially ones on THIS forum, having no problem with the Chinese government denying to it's citizens the same rights that many citizens here believe shouldn't even be in question. Now you or I may not happen to like what the content is that's being censored/blocked/denied, but should we really be in a position to decide what's acceptable for the citizens of China or any other country when we don't stand for that here? I don't wish to start any uproar with my fellow CFL members Tony. But I do hope to encourage them to look at things from a different perspective occasionally, and I hope they afford me the same opportunity. It's called a free and open discussion. And I don't consider it a game. Best wishes. Dave Dave Ever hear of the PC term as troll? Dave PS We have to change this trend Dave! One of us is going to get confused! Probably me! Tony n Tiger, That is quite a long title! May I call you Dick? Never mind, Dick! This seems me to be an appropriate nom de guerre to a sophisticated intellectual as yourself. Let me be the first to say that I reread the posts in this thread! My word; I¡¯m humbled! Such prose in posing your lucid and concise statement syllogisms and the conclusions that you were able to extract, from such clear and lucid reasoning mental processes, from such an abstract and disorganized thread, with so many dynamic personalities interplaying with other people, with only 20, I repeat twenty of your other posts Damn! I thought I was clever! I could never defeat you, Dick! BTW, Dick. Do the words of TROLL able to penetrate that great haze on intellect? I mean really DICK; I¡¯m impressed with a particular thought-process of yours. I hope you don¡¯t mind if quote you, do you Dick? Dick did you hold the nails at the Cross or just act as a ¡°sidewalk supervisor¡± and insure proper placement of the nails? Certain words strike me as being appropriate right now Dick! They are taken from a quote that I read in from Darwin Awards. They are quoted from an anonymous source. ¡°The Tree of Life, prunes itself!¡± Dick, IMHO, you may be standing at the outer reaches of the "Tree of Life!¡± Be careful LPJ! My PM is open to all and there is a red carpet out for all¡¡ Dave No you may not call me anything but Tony! I do not lack self worth. I do not appreciate being called that name. I am going to lowerer myself to your low self esteem level. It is very obvious you have a very poor self image of yourself. Your avatar states this. You are the ledgend in your own mind. That is all. Over and out 10-4 good buddy see you on the flip flop. What are you going to do when you meet your SO? 5/ 03/ 07 Met on line 5/18/07 Started web cam chats 9/26/07 Start talking about how East meets West 12/12/07 Start making plans to meet in China to discuss more then Geography. She may want some action. ????????? Ok Dick! How about Rubber Duck! Better? BooooooHoooooo! http://www.pushupstairs.com/images/emoticon/extra1/crying.gifYou have hurt my feelings with that snappy comeback! BTW, Not a good 10-4, good buddy! Especially I know your 20 first, Rubber Duck! Sheeesh! CB jargon in response to a computer thread! See Jim; I was nice to him! I even went back and reedited.
  17. Mark, Does insanity run in you family? I would personally and seriously discuss this issue with your immediate related family and your sons! B) Hmmmm......no heaters in China? Perhaps, I can help your sons, Feng and yourself to an all expense paid trip to Kenya as an Chinese tutor and yourself as a ESL instructor? This should eliminate that nasty problem of heater issues immediately and/or permanently! Dave PS: I would turn down job opportunities in Sudan, Somalia, Chad, Libya, Nigeria and definitely Uganda. Believe or not, all of them are seeking now actively seeking teachers! Chinese interpreters are actively being sought out for Darfur, Sudan. I should mention that new opportunities have opened in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos esp. and Vietnam is coming quickly.
  18. Thanks for the list Dave, never know when I need a change to warm weather!!! B) Mark, Yeah! A real change of weather. Prior to posting I wanted to insure that all links were operational and major corps were still searchable. Did a sampling and I happened to run this through MetaCrawler; PAE-JAPAN OPERATIONS. I'm thinking what the Hell I wanted to go to Japan. However, I didn't see much. Therefore, I checked their world-wide opportunities. Perhaps, you feel that I'm drifting from your post. I'm NOT! You wanted a change of weather. OK! They have about 50 openings in Sudan! SUDAN! WTF! If I wanted to hide from my ex-wife I would rather join the French Foreign Legion! Sudan! Yah! I'll wager the applicants are literally lined up around the block for this opportunity! Dave, maybe not that warm!!!!! My feng told me today that Shenzhen is very "colda"!! It was a high of 50F and a low of 44F!! Now I do remember that all those homes south of the "Yangtzee River" do not have heaters!! Mark
  19. Jim, What both barrels? ......and I thought I was being polite too! Remember LPJ? However, "No harm! No foul!" Still trying to get to LA on Groundhog Day! However, doesn't look to promising. I may end up in Newberg, OR for that date. Specialized training for my Corp, that only Myself can accomplish and save the Corporation from a fate worse than death or some inane dribble like that! Dave
  20. Jason, I fully agree with you in some aspects. When I referred to the slippery slope of pornography, this argument is IMHO a lot of unadulterated crap! Try this argument past your wife and see exactly HOW far you get! As to censorship of other places, I fully agree with you. They shouldn't be restricted. However, China's prosperity, in he future will change this gradually. Remember societal changes are gradual! Not Immediate. To do it another way will cause a disaster for all. China is becoming a major player on the world. The world, its people and prosperity will change. However, it will take time! Remember Korea from 1976 until approx 1981? It was considered backwards and did almost the same type of censorship in a democratic society as China does in a Communist environment! Look at S. Korea today! Censorship; some, but on the whole, very little compared to 1981. China needs to have time to make this same evolutionary change. Compare the China of Mao to Hu today. It is a gradual process that is occurring today and will continue into the future. You can't wave a "magic stick" and they are transformed overnight! Would be nice. However, it doesn't happen in the real world. However, to pornography; care to take my wager and try this line of argument past your wife? NOT a chance! You are level headed! Remember my new game of "husband-tossing!"" LOL! I will wait for even one persons response to this particular dare! I want to see what Joanne or SmilingAsias response is to this thread! I Know! I Know! They will be extremely sympathetic to the cause of pornography! Same as my wife was! LOL lol asking wouldn't get me "tossed", but posting her response would. Nice come back. Good to have company with me the wuss! I wonder how many will come after us, or are they simply cockroaches hiding in the walls! You know.....Their liberal, uncensored wife turn the lights on them and their pornography/Freedom of Speech arguments and they go scuttling! ROFLMAO! BTW Mark, you were wrong! A 44 caliber with 6 rounds loaded!
