Rooms for Rent Near US Consulate (Yang's)

TianYu Garden

Recommended Posts

Here is the pleasure and comfort we experienced by staying in the Tian Yu Garden apartments in Guangzhou during the days leading up to and after the interview, a two week stay.

Our interview was set for July 26th

My girlfriend had already talked to Mr. Yang a couple of times prior to her arrival and so after a 30 hour train ride (I lost the "battle" to spend the money on a plane flight) my girlfriend , her 11 year old son, and her niece arrived at the Guangzhou train station, on July 17th, where Mr. Yang met them and took them to his apartments. I arrived at CAN airport on the 18th. Our thinking was to have plenty of time to get the medicals done and to finalize our preparations for the interview without being rushed, plus I had made plans to attend ACH on the 20th only to have the Consulate cancel ACH for that day.

On the 19th Mrs. Yang's sister escorted us to the medical exam and fast tracked my girlfriend and her son through the whole process. I can't thank this nice lady enough for saving us the time and stress she did with her help...and she refused any money for her help.

I first met Mr. Yang and his lovely wife later that night of the 19th. Mrs. Yang speaks english and as she and Mr. Yang went over our documents she asked us questions and gave us some great advice on different points. They are very well educated on the interview process and they are great stress and anxiety relievers with their help and advice.

Over the next few days leading up to the interview they both came to our apartment 3 times to discuss our case. And they both refused our offer to pay them for their invaluable help. What totally selfless help they gave us, and what a confidence builder they were for my girlfriend.

Okay, my girlfriend and son go to the interview and get the blue slip. Now the Yang's are there for us to try and figure what went wrong and make plans to prepare for whatever we could to overcome the blue slip since the blue slip didn't ask for specific evidence and told us to wait three months and e-mail them if we haven't heard from them. After the interview the Yang's asked us to their own home three times over the next few days to review our case.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment that had very comfortable beds, a living room, kitchen, and bathroom and the apartment more than met our needs. And it was more than a reasonable price, considering the tremendous help and support they gave us. Throw in the fact that you ride the elevator downstairs and are about a one minute walk to the Consulate and it is a no brainer to stay in Tian Yu Garden.

I can't tell you how much Mr. and Mrs. Yang, and Mrs. Yang's sister helped us out through this process. Such selfless and nice people are rare to meet.

I highly recommend staying with the Yangs while going through the visa interview.

Thank you very much Mr. and Mrs. Yang, I feel that my girlfriend and I have made some new friends when we met you both, and good luck with the soon to be here baby.

I have mentioned how wonderful our stay was in several posts, PM's, and emails, but we want to make this public "THANK YOU", so that everyone can read about the wonderful place you have for us to stay, and all the great help you give so we can receive our visas.

We stayed for 8 nights, we were very comfortable! It was like staying in our own condo. You and your beautiful wife were there to guide us and help us whenever we needed it!

Mr. and Mrs. Yang Jiahua,

I and my fiancee will be coming to visit you from October 14 through October 21 of this year. She called and made a reservation last week. This hotel was recommended to me by Pshbrk. I can see that everyone has been happy with your hotel.

My fiancee is very worried about her interview, but I am sure that everything will be OK.

We look forward to meeting with you and maybe some other couples who are waiting for their interviews.

Thank you for your support at this nervous time.

Xie Xie Again Mr. Yang!!!

I just wanted to thank you again for all of your hospitality before and after our interview. I know my sweet Fang had contacted you very early on in this process, and you took the time to answer all of her questions. When Fang and her mama arrived, I am told your wife met them at the bus station and escorted them back to your hotel. I also know that your sister-in-law took them to the medical. You were kind enough to look over all of our forms, as well as put Fang's mind at ease for all of this. You gave us so much of your time! I KNOW that was comforting to Fang, and for that I am truly grateful. You also came to meet us in line at the embassy the morning of the interview to wish us luck. Not often do I see this level of service and support, and your care and concern for others has left a wonderful lasting impression on me! Thank you again Mr. Yang and please thank your wife and sister-in-law again for me. (and your beautiful child!!!) : )

As you may remember from other post I have made we were both very uneasy about our interview. Mr. yang helped us a great deal and made us feel at ease. He evem went through all of our paper work for us and told us what was the most important papers we had and what ones we should try to show the officer first. He also told us of some other paper work that would be help full for my wife's interview.

Do you happen to remember which of those papers were the most important, and which ones you showed at the interview first?

I've read three of yours posts with references about receiving the blue slip, but I cannot seem to find the conclusion to this story. It's like watching a suspenseful TV series that gets canceled before the show is finished. Is there a post somewhere that details the reason for the blue slip, and how you overcame it?

Bill, that post was written shortly after I got home from China after the interview 3 weeks earlier.

I was told, by a visa officer, at ACH that our "...case looks strong. Sometimes we just need a little more time to look things over. Your fiancee was very well prepared for the interview, had all the evidence, and she answered all of the 26 questions very easily. I feel that in a month, month and a half she should be getting a letter from us, asking her to bring her passports back and we'll give her our decision."

That was just shy of 8 months ago, since her interview.

Overcome???? I could only wish. We are honest people who have done nothing wrong. We had everything in order, had more evidence of a bona fide relationship than most people, and even had all of the overcome evidence they could have asked for...right there at the interview window.

No stone was left unturned in our preparation. Nothing was left to chance.

We can only speculate she was "profiled" from the city she comes from, as they will not let me know what is wrong, nor will they tell 2 Congressmen's liasons what is going on. I call DOS everyday to hear the same garbage and I send 2 e-mails per month to GUZ, again, to read the same garbage. Sorry, I can't relate what city she comes from on the internet.

They hope we will lose spirit and lose each other.

Don't let our story scare you. Read the FAQ's here on CFL, and prepare your best. Rehearse the interview with your lady and instill confidence and a focus of the "goal" in your lady. She will do fine and you will be able to live out your dream.

Thanks for your concern. I wish I could give you better news. This has been quite the eye opener to me about my service to my country and how they appreciate it.

8 months! Holy crap. I'm very sorry to hear that. I can only imagine the agony that causes. Do you stay with her in China? If not, how do you cope with the distance? I imagine a lot of trips to China would be in store for me if this happens to us.

Bill I met my lil' rabbit and stayed with her for 3 weeks on that first trip. TCounting that first trip, I went over 4 times in 9 months, getting ot know each other and studying and rehearshing for the interview. In that nine months I was with her in China more that 3 months.

The goodbyes were hard during those 4 trips, but on the first 3 we always had hope and the interview to look forward to. That goodbye after the interview was a KILLER to both of us. It was much worse than when I left america twice to go to Vietnam.

We were told it was going to be a quick, month, month and a half for them to make their decision...so we waited. Then as time went on we feared I'd visit, get on the plane to leave, get home and she'd get her letter to return to GUZ.

Tell you the truth, she doesn't want me to come over for another 3 week stay. She wants me to come over and either bring her to america, or to stay in China and get married...and stay in China.

Looking back, if we'd have known it was going to be this long, I'd have gone over...and I'd recommend that to someone who got an administrative processing type blue slip, but, my dumb ass trusted the VO at ACH...boy do I feel stupid now. But ya know. you hit the 5 month mark and they touch your case, so you wait...then you hit the 6 month mark and they change you from administrative processing to administrative "review" so your hopes get up and think "it won't be long now"....it's now almost 2 months since that change to "review".

We talk twice a day (stopped the freakin' e-mails) for anywhere from 3 to 5 hours EVERYDAY. Our relationship has greatly grown in strength and understanding each other. We've been under more stress than most folks will ever have in their relationship, and surviving it very well.

I've used the time here to liquidate everything I could...turned in 2 2006 leased vehicles, sold my 2006 Harley, one of two house, the second is on the market, and moved into an apartment to wait this thing out. Sold everything but an old pickem-up truck, a couple of old cars, and my home renovation tools.

I'm finishing up a job tomorrow and within 2 weeks I'm gonna start a TEFL online class, and just take small jobs so I can study.

Hope it doesn't seem like I've given up ....merely preparing. I see the trend, and have been seeing what others were getting.

Yes, I'll PM you her city

Interview: It was conducted by one of the most disgusting and disgraceful american women to ever walk this planet. Threated my fiancee and her 11 year old son like they were trash. But my lady kept her focus and didn't get rattled. That's a ploy the VO's will use so they can easily deny these women. We're certain she avoided a white slip cause she was too prepared and knew too much...so...they gave her this shit.

Questions: In a rapid fire style manner, with much anger and stressful comments. My fiancee knew all the answers in english (as well as the questions in english)...from answering 75 practice questions (in english) twice a day for over 3 months.

My fiancee and her son walked to the window...smiled, and together said said "Hello"..."Good morning". THe VO looked at them in disgust, scowled, and sneered at them...never responded with a "Good morning"

1. Passports? Wouldn't even open my passport and handed it, and my certified/hand written evolution of relationship letter and new intent to marry statement RIGHT back.

2. Can you speak english?

3. Who helped you to apply for the K-1 visa?

4. How did you meet?

5. Date of first e-mail?

6. Dates of fiance's first trip to China?

7. How many times has he been to China?

8. How many days was his first stay in China?

9. Dates of 2nd trip? (VO very interested in dates and lengths of my trips).

10. Length of stay on 2nd trip?

11. Dates of 3rd trip?

12. Lenght of stay on 3rd trip?

13. Dates of 4th trip?

14. Lenght of stay on 4th trip?

15. Is he in China with you now? (The VO had my passport in her hand and never looked at it.)

16. How old is your fiance?

17. Do you understand he he is divorced 2 times?

18. Dates of BOTH of his 2 divorces?

19. Why did he get divorced?

20 Where does he work, what does he do?

21. What is his address? My lady tried to give the VO my street address, city, state, and zip code and the VO screamed...ADDRESS, ADDRESS!! So my lady quickly gave her the city and state.

22. Date of engagement?

23. When did you get divorced?

24. What is your age?

25. Where does your ex-husband live?

26. Do you plan to study or work in america?

27. Son's age?

28. Do you have custody?

29. Photos? VO very studied the photos and wanted to know the sequence of each trip.

30. Do you have his financials? Threw ALL of my supporting documents from self employed through the window and they came un-clipped and scatterd all over the interview room floor. Son played fetch and handed them back to his mother.

31. E-mails?

VO pulled out a blue slip and started filling it out. My lady asked her what she needed and was told "I don't need anything, if you don't hear from us in 3 months, e-mail us". MY LADY HAD EVERYTHING THEY COULD HAVE ASKED FOR ON A BLUE SLIP...IN A FOLDER.

The interview was RAPID FIRE...one question after another. My lady stood there and answered the VO as quickly as she asked a question...and kept he composure now matter how the VO acted or sarcastically asked her questions.

The VO was typing the whole time and barely looked up, only to see photos and e-mails.

VO filled out blue slip and handed that and the passports back.

Fiancee and son smiled, said "Thank you" and "Goodbye" VO looked up and laughed at them.

I seldom post on CFL anymore. But this is just the thread I was looking for.

I would like to book a room with Mr. and Mrs. Yang in June.

I will forward the contact information to Li. I do not speak Chinese and she handles all the China travel arrangements for me.

I will continue to look at this thread occationally for updates or messages from Mr. and Mrs. Yang.

Thanks,

Richard

We were there for over 10 days preparing for th einterview, then ACH after we were slammed in the face with an admin blue slip. The Yangs are very helpful and Mrs. Yangs sister can take your lady to her medical and expedite that process.

There are hours of testimonials and reading about this Richard. You won't go wrong with the Yangs, especially if you seek help and support.

Good luck to your lady at her interview.
