  1. We're pulling for you two! I wish I could help you, but there is nothing I can do, but offer my solace.
  2. Just a quick question - Are you referring to a Commercial Drivers License or a California Drivers License?
  3. Seattle area: Ranch 99 markets Southend 18230 E. Valley Highway #100 Kent, WA 98032 (425) 251-9099 Northend 22511 Highway 99 Edmonds, WA 98026 425-670-1899 Federal Way has a sizable Korean population, and many Korean stores. In Seattle proper, there is the International District with many asian stores. All of their stores, with locations through out Southern California, the Bay Area, the two in Seattle, and franchises in Vegas and Atlanta.
  4. I looked it up when I was looking before leaping for this thread, and he has spewed out several books.
  5. Ok, so I'm guessing she just stole that from John Gray, and that it is not an old Chinese saying?
  6. Christopher's thread got me fired up, and I went searching for the final emails from Chnlove's customer service. The csr said that in China they have an old saying that in the world of love, men are from Mars while women are from Mercury. Did John Gray snag that phrase or is the csr just yanking my chain?
  7. Truly my best wishes for the interview!
  8. Another problem with the DoL in Washington is that they are run by contractors. I've been given completely different information from different offices. Call the information number down in Olympia, and hopefully you will get correct information. And I'm not sure, but maybe this page might have some info you guys can use - http://www.dol.wa.gov/cn/
  9. And as a note, I didn't mention the fine places in San Gabriel, as that is out of the designated area! Otherwise, you couldn't go wrong with Monterey Park, and Alhambra. If you are in Alhambra, just take the 110 South/West, and then take the Hill exit, and that just about dumps you into Chinatown. As a note for future reference, if you are NOT familiar with the freeway interchanges, particularly the 101, 10, and the 110, you are better off taking surface streets. Unless CalTrans has changed those 100 foot on ramp/off ramps to something a bit less dramatic. Even with my police Mustang, some of those interchanges were real white knucklers!
  10. I'm not sure it hasn't changed in the last fifteen years, but isn't Westminster the asian heart of Orange County?
  11. What's love but a second hand emotion? B)
  12. good Thank You And welcome to CFL. I'm the one........I think I'll have to look around to see if you introduced yourself to us. That's Jin, of Rob and Jin fame! And since we don't have a place to introduce ones self....
  13. I'll have to remember to make that more prominent next time I post something from there.
  14. I was looking for something else, and the Asian Studies heading caught my eye. Here is the link to this particular program: Linkage! Currently they appear to only have 7 segments. Three are about Japan, and the other four are about China. Enjoy! (I hope!)
  15. To bad you will have to wait for a week.
  16. That's pretty high up! How effective is it that high?
  17. That's just it. There are many that dispute the claims and premise of the movie, as evidenced by: Wikipedia states: see also: http://www.eskimo.com/~webguy/writings/joysucks.html Everyone should read this review. Here's a snippet... So are you saying that women had it easy in China?
  18. I remember watching that movie many many many years ago. I mostly watched it because Ming-Na Wen, and Tamlyn Tomita were in it. I was already aware of the way women were treated in the east so there wasn't so much of an eye opening experience there for me.
