Welcome pingme. I have found this site to very informative and a god-send to keep me sane during the long process. My SO and me are waiting for our interview and we have been in the system just around 11 months, so I know what you mean where every hour feels like a day. I do know that we did not use a lawyer, because I found the answers to all my questions on this site. I am constantly amazed at how much information is on this site. There is always someone to help or to direct you, so like others have said. STRAP IN and HOLD ON!!!!! Dave

I shipped a 2 pound box of documents by DHL about 3 weeks ago. My SO got it after 4 days. Cost was $56.00. I paid for Global Priority at the post office, they said 4 to 6 business days, and after 2 weeks still have not been delivered. I would rather spend the extra money to be sure the package gets there, than have the mail handed over to China postal system. They seem to sit on the package for a week or more. Dave

I sent a card, because she told me I had spent too much for flowers on her birthday in November and then again on Christmas. But I sent it Global Priority and it was supposed to be delivered in 6 business days. I knew it was too good to be true. Being so close to our interview, we are just looking forward to that. Dave

My beautiful and thoughtful fiancee counted up how many e-mails and chats we had send each other. I think it is over 1100 e-mails and about 300 chat records on Yahoo Messenger. She printed up a sample of each month's e-mails I sent to her, and I printed up about 10 or 12 e-mails from her each month. The reason for this is her e-mails to me show the header lines and mine to her show the header lines from both of us. I found if I print my e-mails to her it does not show it is from me. I also put all our e-mails and chat records on CDs. I know GZ cannot read them, but if they need more information, then my fiancee has all of them. With all the photos and documents that are really needed, and the sample of the e-mails and chats, my fiancee will have a package of over 5 pounds with her. So I wonder how much more evidence they will need. Dave

I think Lee ran out of Cheetos on the way to the airport, so he had nothing at his place. Just shows you that us young pups can learn things from you old dogs. Dave

Congratulations on your SO arriving in the US. Trigg and Don you missed the point. Lee had to go get groceries to keep his strength up. And to load up because they will not be seen in public for a few days. I know that is what I have planned when my SO arrives. Dave

I am a rooster and I have not talked with my SO about this. She talked with a fortune teller last year and he/she said she would find her true love. That has come to pass...hehehe... But with the new year I just want to get married, and I know that no month or year will deter us from our love. There have been so many obstacles that the year of____ should not matter. Dave

I have to agree there were no good commercials this year. Last year there wer half a dozen that stood out, but this year the commercials were not that good. I did enjoy watching the Pats win. Dave

I just got a letter today from "A Safe Place" thanking me for my contribution. In the letter it says that my donation will go to the Chinese immigrant in need. So I am happy that the money will be getting to the lady and her child. Makes me feel good that the people on CFL have made a difference. I would be willing to contribute some more, especially with me getting some refund money soon. Dave

When I visited my SO in Sept we did a 8 minute tape of us just talking. I did the tape as a preventive measure, in case they ask for it. I think GZ just asks for the tape at times because they want proof that the couple can communicate. I think it is like having your copies of your passport notarized, they want to see if you can provide the information. I know if they were in the US and asked for a communication tape and notarized copy of a document(passport), that is not supposed to be copied, all kinds of groups would be shouting about rights violations. You guys are scaring me. My SO has already sent a package (on the slow boat) with bed things she bought in China. Said they are much cheaper, so we will have new things when she arrives. I don't know how she will react to the carpet thing. I do have some coworkers that could help with Pergo, if I need to. But the vinyl floor may have to stay in the kitchen and bathroom, I hope. I have already learned to say, "Yes Dear". Am I getting trained well. Dave

I called DOS yesterday and was told we had not been scheduled yet. After reading all the dates coming out in the last 24 hours, I just had to call today. The lady said the p-4 papers were sent out today and my SO is scheduled for March 3 at 0800. Can you see the light at the end of the tunnel. I had to call and wake her up!!!!!! Dave PS. She sent the P-3 back on Sept 10.

Congratulations Jason and Jun. I was telling my Fiancee, she should show photos of my dog instead of photos of us together. I have heard the expression love me, love my dog. Dave P.S. I spent 3 1/2 years in Korea, before I got out of the Air Force. That was in 1992, I know it has changed in the last decade. A lifetime ago.

I am doing the i-134 to send to my SO and I have a question. On my tax return and w-2 I use the amount in box 1 of the w-2. But my actual salary is a few thousand more, because my health insurance and 401(k) are taken out and not taxable. My w-2 does show my Social Security wages(box 3) as being larger. I am trying to decide which amount to put on the i-134. The one showing on my tax return as wages, tips, etc. Or my gross salary before anything is taken out. Please advise me those who have finished the i-134. Thanks, Dave

I agree with everyone. I would be willing to make a contribution to help this woman and her young daughter. Let us know where we need to send to help. Dave

You do not have to have all the pages filled to renew your passport. It is good for 10 years from the date of issuance. If all the pages are not used it does not matter. If you need more pages because all the others have been filled, you can get extra pages for that. I do not know if there is a charge. Dave
