  1. Congratulations to Mark and ShuPing. I wish I could have been in China for the interview, but ours went well this week too. If you storm the consulate, remember it was just a lie started by the Communist loving members of the CIA. They had a few adult beverages and could not get all the niffty decoder rings to work. So they just wanted to use the super secret ultra machine to send congratulations to you. Dave
  2. Just so you can update the list. We are K-1. We hope to get married sometime in April. Dave
  3. Gene puddle..is that one of them funny looking dogs shaved in the middle and most of the tail. I thought they was from France. I know where you can buy 1 million French rifles, never fired and only dropped once. We in Mississippi do not go for older women. 15 only if she is a widow with 2 kids. Woody had it right. Find an American woman to sponsor the adoption, and then go behind her back and fall for the adoptee. Then marry her and everything will be ok. Wish I had thought of that last year. Dave
  4. Got home from work and had the mesage I hoped for on the machine. She has gotten her passport with the visa stamp. So now she can come to the US. She was at the travel agent buying her ticket. I had talked her into applying online to the frequent flier program at United. The carrier she is taking. She will be arriving on March 30. She has things to do regarding her house, and on March 31 it will be one year since we were engaged. I am sure we will have a nice celebration. I am so happy and excited that this part of our lives will soon be over, and we can look to the future as husband and wife. I LOVE THAT WOMAN!!! Dave
  5. Congratulations!!! I am happy to see CFLers starting out March well. Dave
  6. Congratulations on getting the interview date. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck to your SO. Dave
  7. That is not true in Mississippi, we prefer to marry people who are natural members of the family. If she ain't good enough for her own family, then she ain't good enough for ours. Dave PS..Interesting ideal though. Sorta of like Woody Allen and Mia's adopted daughter.
  8. Yes, my training has begun. I have learned the 2 most important words: Yes, Dear. I am progressing well. Dave
  9. Don't remind me Trigg..I will have to take my dog to the groomers right before she arrives. She has already laid down the law! If the dog gets on the bed I can sleep with him and she will sleep in the other bedroom. Guess, he will just have to get over it and stay in his chair. Dave
  10. Hello John, When I sent our 129F in, we had about 6 or 7 e-mails, and I think 5 chat records. They were spaced out over the 3 months that we had been talking with each other. We also sent in about 5 photos of us together during my first trip. I do not know how MSN messenger works, but I do know that I use Yahoo messenger for our chat records and we can archive all of them so we can print them up later. For the interview, my fiancee printed up a few for each month. We also printed about 4 to 7 e-mails for each month. I printed the ones she sent me and she printed the ones I sent to her, because that way it shows who sent it and who recieved it. I also put all our e-mails and chats to CD, as a back-up in case something happened to one of our computers. I guess, I am trying to say you do not need to print everything out, just a sample. Good Luck. I know it seems a long way away, but it was right at 11 months from the time we sent the I-129F in, until she had her interview. Dave
  11. Hi everyone, I just got home from work and had the most wonderful message on my answering machine. My fiancee called and said she had the white slip and needed to return the next day to get her passport with the visa stamp. So I know we have to get over that last hurdle before anything is final. I called her cell phone and she said she was at the internet cafe sending me an e-mail. Right after that a good friend called and wanted to know if I had heard anything. So I could not contain my happiness. In the e-mail she said she had the black pearl, but she seemed to be in a good mood. She was smiling and was polite. Here is what my fiancee e-mailed me about the interview: I met the VO is the black pearl.001 ladies said she never show smile ,but today she is so nice, she did smile to me,she asked me: vo:Hello,How Are you? me: Fine, good afternoon,How are you? vo:(smile),thank you.Who did apply for you? (she loook t the form, answered herself)he is David XXXX XXX.right? me: yes, vo:do you have child? me:yes,i have one. vo:how old is she? me:she is 13 years old. vo:ok.(she check on form to comfirm XXX's age) me:she will follow me to US.and she will finish her premary school in china. vo:how did you met? me:we met thru interent, the website named asianpromise vo:ok..how many time he visit you? me:two times.first time is ****8,the second time is ****(she check on computer,to see your attend the meeting in GZ I think) vo:good, when is his last time visit? me:(i repeat) SEP.13--SEP.27 vo: which year me:last year. vo:ok.good.(then she sing on the form and ignore me.) vo:have you any photos? me:yes, here they are. vo:(she look at the album.i put you and me and my parents and XXX in the first picture.she point my parents, asked): who is it? me:my parents, vo:(point at XXX),is she your daughter? me:yes. vo:ok.go back tomorrow afternoon to pick up your visa. me:thank you.my fiance has a letter to you ,would do you like to have a look? vo:it's ok. vo:she look at your letter a while, then put to all paperworker me:thank you.have a nice day. vo:thank you. She also has found a one-way ticket from Hong Kong to New Orleans for around $600. She is using a travel agent near the counslate. Dave
  12. Congratulations.. I know that there is no rhyme or reason to why they give out blue slips. I am happy you overcame this obstacle. Dave
  13. Don't worry about the no date scheduled yet. I called on a Tuesday I think and got that reply. After seeing everyone get dates the next day, I called again and had an interview date. So it just seems what day you call. I think if others afround the same time as you are getting dates, you might try and call again in a couple of days. Dave
  14. The videotape being an issue started with Carl (warpedbored) and Bing. Last April she went for her interview and was given a blue slip, that stated they must do a 5 minute video of him speaking Chinese. He hopped on a plane to be with her and found out at the Citizen's Hour in GZ, that the tape just needs to be of the 2 of them communicating. They could use a dictionary, electronic tranlator, or any means that was proof they could communicate and understand each other. Since that time, I only think 2 or 3 others have been asked to provide the videotape. I do know that many others, myself included, have done a tape during a visit to China. I feel this is just another piece of evidence they might want, so it is better to prepare it, than to try and go to China and do it after she has received a blue slip. The thng is that the VO needs to believe that you can communicate and understand each other. This may require the videotape. Hope this helps. Dave
  15. I have a question??? Is the date of birth on the I-129 wrong, or the one you gave the operator at NVC? If there is a difference, it could just be a typographical error. But it could also be a problem with her name-check clearing between the P-3 and P-4 stages. I do not want to sound pessimistic, but I would want my form to be correct with her birth certificate, to avoid any problems or delays. Dave
  16. Like Trigg said, it can take a few weeks. What happens is the NVC sends a couple of boxes with the files in them to GZ, and then they sit waiting to clear customs. This can be one week or 6 weeks, depending on when they want to go pick them up. After that it takes a couple of weeks for the P-3 to be sent out. Then the wait for the P-4 begins. Good luck and I think you should have the P-3 by the middle of March. Dave
  17. Congratulations Ken and Shaoyun!! I hope in one week we can post the same message. Dave
  18. Best of Luck to you Mark. I do not know about the train to GZ, but both times I have arrived in China it was around 6:00 or 7:00 pm. We had no trouble finding a bus to the border and getting into China. I do not know if they have busses that go to GZ from the airport, but it might help to see. I wish I could be more help. Good luck on the interview. I know we are less than a week away from it too. Dave
  19. Congratulations!!!!! best of luck in the future. Dave
  20. With Mardi Gras so early this year. I have heard that the crowd was older but spent more. I do know that when we do Mardi Gras, we may start with some of the parades away from the French Quarter. Plus I usually have to work that day. But I am off for Bacchus. Dave
  21. Alex, I think when you and your lawyers get to appeal, the third party correspondence should be revealed. I am sure that a note was placed in the file saying the VO called and talked to so and so and he said, or that someone send a letter stating this or that. And a copy should be in the file. If they called someone who your SO worked with or her ex, there would be some type of notation or form used to say when the call was made and who was called and a note on what was said. If they say there is nothing like either of these scenarios I do not see how they can say a third-party influenced them. Proof is still required and there is an appeal process. Best of luck toyou. Dave
  22. I was in China in Sept, and went to the Citizen's hour at GZ, and one of the things the officials stressed was that there will be visas that will be denied because of the financial status. They said this is a black and white issue, if you do not meet the minimum requirement or have a co-sponsor that does they will deny the visa. I would think they would want to see a stable work history. As much as you want to be in China, it may be better to look ahead. I also think any way that you may try to circumvent the process, i.e. having your church sponsor her, would raise a red flag at GZ. They stated there is a lot of fraud in China and that is one of the reasons the process takes so long, and the interview is so tough. I think the best thing to do is just let the process run it's course. I know it is a long process, but like others there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am just glad I did not go through the black-hole days. Dave
