  1. We recently returned from China-Wifey and myself. Not counting carry on we had four bags that weighed 48-50 pounds each. Thats like 22.?? KG each. Flying china southern from Zhanjiang to GuZ we had to pay an aditional 300 RMB. Flying china southern from GUZ to LAX connecting to Nashville we did not have to pay anything as it was booked via Delta and they allow 2 bages each at 50 pounds each bag. So, the 20kg limit is onley on domestic Chna flights.
  2. Two sworn affidavits ARE required--I'm guessing that's why the RFE. Oh really? I swear I did not see anything on the application saying specifically that two sworn affidavits were required, unless it was among that fine print way down at the bottom. I'm willing to bet that they have to be from individuals not related to either you or each other (i.e one from a man and the other his wife?) I doubt one from a man and his wife would count as two!?!? I sent one from a friend and one from my oldest daughter(38)-no problem. They were standard affidavits notarized and stating they knew us and had seen us interacting as a family blah blah blah!
  3. Two sworn affidavits ARE required--I'm guessing that's why the RFE.
  4. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD I believe it is $465 for the I-751 for mother Plus $80 for mother and another $80 each for the children for a total of $465+($80x3)=$705 I-751 instructions page 3: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-751instr.pdf Onley if the mother and children file at the same time. If their GC was delayed more than 90 days from hers--they have to pay the whole fee!! I been there and done that!
  5. Same thing happened to us--i called USCIS and they said use the new name (married name)--she will be ID'd from the A#
  6. Naw, after you've had a visa you can get a 12 month multiple entry visa that is good for 120 days each entry. That'll get ya through a year me thinks.
  7. Can you track the removal of conditions online now? YES you can Mikey!! Oh, and SHUTUP!
  8. I dont think you can track the removal of conditions, or at least you could not when we did ours a few years ago?? SHUTUP MIKEY!!! you can track the I-751. BUT--It takes them a few weeks or more to get it into the computer--usually about the time you get the notice for the bio appointments. Then you can track it but all it will ever say is "On blah bkah date we blah blah and we are blah blahing. After 10 months we just got the notice that our I-751 has been transferred to Vermont because TX service center has an epidemic of cranial rectitis! The notice they sent said ¡®removal of conditions approval-but off to Vermont with it anyway!~!
  9. Someone tell Wolvie what he needs to know. I'm pretty sure he ain't none to bright cuzz the poor sot is marrying into my wife's family--Now I ask ya, how smart can that be??
  10. Let 'em watch me--maybe they will learn some real cool stuff! Ahhh, watch and learn grasshoppa
  11. Really ? When I send funds to lao po via WU, she withdraws in USD. I've no idea WHICH WU office she uses in Wuhan, but always, she withdrew in USD and converted it afterwards. I think the two of us (you and me) and having different experiences with WU. Argggggggggggggg!! When you go to the WU office to send the $$ you have to specify USD!!! It will state that on the reciept. I've done it several times-no problemo
  12. Western union is simple and fast just be sure you go to WU and DO NOT send it via their internet site--cost way to much! Also, I've never had any problem cashing in a few K worth of travelors checks. A woman carrying that much cash is BU HOA!!!!!!
  13. Darnells DR freind hooked me up and now I'm off to put my stamp of aproval on zillions of Asian hineys--most of which are female. Thanks Darnell!!!!!!!
  14. Great Carl!! Now if wifey sees this I'll be getting Electroconvulsive shock therapy and in China they use 240-------youchyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I guess I'll jsut find a bottle of Jack D. and libate myself well
  15. Ya, but you said she is a shrink-I'm already shrunk. I just want some cold meds to make my feel bad feel better and I'd rather French kiss a cobra than take anymore of these Chinamaneses things---ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!! PS-Only 675,943,321.5 Chinese hineys left ot check out. So many of them and so few of me!
  16. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have picked up a horrific cold. Wifey has been making me take gobs of Chinese herbal crap to no avail. We have a parade of her Chinese friends and their spouses coming at all hours of the day and night doing God knows what type of incantations over and I get sicker and sicker. I now have a collection of antibiotics-non of which can help my running, sneezing nose or the cough! I need to find some normal cold medicine with a cough suppressant and an antihistamine in it. My nose is running like Niagara falls and I¡¯m scaring the locals sneezing. All the translators I¡¯ve used can not find a word for antihistamine or Claritin or or or NON-HERBAL meds. Damnit, I want some Alka-Seltzer plus or any other American meds--not ground up sea monkeys. Anyone know how to ask for or find this in China? PS--Chinese new year is AWSOME!!
  17. I may be 100% wrong but I was always under the impression that a) You only needed to report past felonies if you met through an IMBR and The information was then reported to your future wifey-then it was her decision to marry or not?!?!?
  18. Well stated. Most equate discipline to punishmnet. Even the root of the word--desciple-means to follow-learn from. A hug and a 'good job, thanks' or 'Damn, no wonder me and your mother love you' are ,in my mind, disicpline. Positives need always outway negatives by at least 12 to 1. Fear may make them be "good" when they think they will be caught doing wrong but love and positive reinforcemnt makes them want to do 'good'. Following rules because they are rules is the lowest form of moral development. Doing what is right because it is right-whether any sees you or not-is the highest.
  19. Ahhhhh, something I know a bit about. First of all I am a child/adolescent psychologist. More importantly, when my wife came to America she brought her 14 year old daughter-my stepdaughter. Yes, mom treats her like a goddess and gives her anything and everything and appears to ask for nothing in return. This went against everything I have learned about children-whether in grad school or raising my other five beasties. I insisted that my stepdaughter adhere to at least some rules. Wifey argued-we compromised. My stepdaughter, to this day, rarely does what mom asks her to do. On the other hand, she has never said no to a request from me an has always shown me great respect. She is now 18 and will graduate H.S this year. Straight A's and now speaks nearly flawless English--off to college soon. She works part time after school and has saved over 5K. Bottom line is that she is a great kid and has been a joy to have in my home. It baffles me how/where she learned to have the qualities we all try to instill in our children--but she learned them well and a long time before she came to America(although she still won¡®t clean her room). It is my guess that A) the father is the disciplinarian and because family is so important to the Chinese, the children show respect and do what they should so as not to disappoint the family. Quite possibly the Chinese believe what I have preached during some of the parenting classes I have taught ¡®Our function as parents is not necessarily to have ¡®good kids¡¯ but rather to raise caring and responsible future adults. Easy to confuse the two--you can scare a kid into behaving well but you can¡¯t keep ¡®em scared forever!!!! Just a guess!
  20. Ya, mine has been at the texas screw up center since april 22--I got the same email you did yesterday--sending it to Vermont!!
  21. She does not need vacinations to get a visa. she will need them for the AOS interview after she gets to the US. If she gets them in china-fine. If not-no problem, she can get them in the US.
  22. Shuting down porn is just plain wrong!! Why it's, it's, it's un-American it is. Yup, un-American I tells ya!!!!!
  23. I'm headin' to Zhanjiang on Feb 2cnd for a few weeks. Wifey has been there a couple of months. Sooo, if anyone wants to visit, make it brief as I'll be 'busy'!! --Well, at least for the first few hours.--OK already, the first hour.--Damnit then, the first few minutes but I'm not goin' any lower!!
  24. I have always wondered about the airlines in other countries understanding that the letter is anything more than another piece of paper. I'd think getting an I-551 stamp in the passport would be a safer way to travel. Naw!! Wifey is in china now and her GC expired in April. The 10 year is applied for and she has the I-797c as proof of a one year extension. I'm heading to China in a couple of weeks and we will ride home together. I'll betcha a buzillion bucks that she arrives home with me!! As for airlines in other countries-who gives a rat's ass about them? all they need is a passport to look at!! Most places no longer do the I-551 stamp in the passport.
  25. It's no problem at all. Actually the I-94 is only good for like 90 days anyway.
