  1. This is one biggest disadvantage of doing K1 . You got to do this stuff like you did in GZ one more time . Yeah, you can say it's a rubber stamp , but, dealing with the government .... you never know.... another tense moment in your life.... I'm a firm believer that this is the order from best to worst : 1. IR 1 ; you don't have to deal with this crapt anymore for "essentially" the rest of your life unless you want to have that American passport. Also, I have not heard any one who gets denied yet ? 2. CR 1 and ,on the bottom is 3. K 1 ( cost more money , more chance of denial , but, of course, a convenient way of doing it , all you need to prove is 2 visits and hey, you don't even need to get a divorce if it doesn't work out after 90 days lving together in the US , that's why it is still the most popular choice ! ).
  2. That's correct . All those evidence are supposed to be turned in when filing I -130 . I 'd think that the Consular Officer has these and other documents in the file before interview. However, in reading the appointment letter from NVC for electronic processing , it says to review correspondence list from the consulate or embasssy . So, in going thru GZ's " appointment instructions for immigrant visa applicants" one of the items required for the visa interview is " proof of relationship between applicant and petitioner . In proving a blood relationship , photos of the petitioner and applicant taken together, from..... This makes me confused . Arent't these supposed to have been submitted already when filing I -130 ??? anyway, I ask my wife to bring the same photos to the interview just in case they are asked. You can see in how many different places information are shown and you have to review them all in order not to miss out anything or else you may get a blue slip . I thought I am so good at paper work but only to find out that I missed out scanning two passport photos of my wife. This added 3 weeks delay in the NVC stage. I wish they put everything in ONE place concise and clear so any layman can do it !!!
  3. All the best to you uncle Tsap . You'll be approved ! Time is the true testament of your relationship . You 're now a baba and a lao gong both .
  4. Incrdible This thread is 6 yrs old and still alive I defintely would love to hear an updtae from the orginator Is he still active or on the list at least ? China 6 yrs ago is different already from today The young generation is better than the old farts in china They are mor polite and culture
  5. Hi Ryan; I don't think you need to resend over what you already have sent on I-130 . Those supporting documents along with your I-130 are crucial part of your application, how can they adjudicate your case to issue or not a visa without complete file in the officer 's hand ? Believe me , everything you submit to immigration , EVERYTHING , they have in their file . Every aliens , or citizens who have sought immigration benefits have their file in Virginia somewhere . This file will always be reviewed everytime an immigration benefit is sought for . I would not worry if I were you . When you submit your I864 , there you need to supply tax & financial documents. if you were married then ( 2010 ), you better have joint return, otherwise be prepared to explain WHY Not ???
  6. Thanks uncle Tsap. Maybe if faith allows, we 'll meet up there.???
  7. Friends ; Just got an email from NVC stating that our case is completed . Called the NVC , the operator said the file will be physically transfered to GZ . What ? She kept insisting that GZ is the Embassy that wants the file sends out physically . I don't want to argue with her ;she sounded very stubborn . Our file starts with GZO , not GUZ , why would it be send by mail ???
  8. no uncle Tsap , unlikely , still have not heard anything yet from MR. NVC ; yeah... just two photos RFE , and yeah... 20 business days man,,,, yeah, yea, yea.... nothing you can do about it .... another week to go and see .... maybe we are destined to meet in GZ .
  9. You'll make it uncle Tsap. Time is an undeniable testament of bonafide relationship. They are both for IR1 /IR 2 this time , not K's . Premier Deng Xiao Ping said " Let the past be the past, we should focus on the future ".
  10. What is the best hospital in Guang zhou I plan to bring my wife for endoscopic procedure to check on her ulcers Don't think _United family can handle this Thanks
  11. did you take photos ? would love to see the Jiuzhaigou mountains and grasslands . I'm surprise you love those spicy Sichuan " la jiao " . When I first visited Chengdu 4 -5 yrs ago, it's so hard to find any restaurant who doesn't have this spice in their foods . Now, Chengdu has become much more metropolis , there are many Cantonese and other cuisines , so , not a problem.
  12. All the best & happiness to you uncle Tsap. Long live the red neck culture ! Please continue to contribute to this forum . We miss your humor and creativity.
  13. For my wife, Mandarin all the way since I don't understand Sichuan dialect nor I care about it . So, she'll interview in Mandarin. For forum members who speak Mandarin with their spouses and their English is limited , why not use Mandarin all the way for interview ? There is absolutely no need trying to impress the officer with your English's skill. I think GZ speaks Mandarin and Cantonese. Any other dialects , you are free to bring your own translator. I read somewhere that someone speaks Tibetan only so the person brought translator. Even for United States Naturalization interview , one can bring a translator . Strange , huh ! but, that's the way it is.
  14. It is such an important thing. If I were her , I 'd fly to GZ and take care of it myself. Remember in immigration , she needs them, they don't need her . All issues are our faults , so ,@ every single opportunity we must check and cross check everything for completion. They can change schedule or anything at their discretion, we can NOT. They can hold this up for one year or longer and there is nothing you can do about it . How many times people get pink and then turn around and get blue ??? not uncommon.... I hope you understand this well and explain it to her .
  15. Good for you uncle Tsap. It seems that they processed your stuff quickly at NVC . All the best with your interview. Perhaps , we may see you in July ?
  16. Wow uncle ... U r so lucky they finished it in 10 days Good luck to u We may meet in Gz early July Mine is stuck waiting for that 20 bus days to look at two photos Heard that NVC schedules the interview for GZO files not Guang zhou ???
  17. What are the benefits of joining CCP ??? Is it required ? What cases are they required ? Can foreigners join to ? What benefits ?
  18. my wife said many University students join CCP and it 's voluntary ,ie. it's not required in order to enroll .
  19. contact Guangzhou consulate immediately by email and let them know her situation and ask for special accomodation such as seeing her ASAP to interview ,etc.... give them her case #. and local phone #.
  20. Be sure to tell exactly how she wants to be interviewed in on the 1st day during document collection stage. Mandarin, English, Chinglish or Sichuan-hua .
  21. you got that right ! I told my wife that rain or sun , earthquake or not ,ill or healthy , MUST come on the scheduled day!!!No exception ! those of us who have dealt with Immigration know this condition very well.
  22. good to go . just bring in all the photos and documents , just in case. answer every question to the point ; don't linger around and don't volunteer anything that is not asked for . relax and don't be tense. one more thing ; how do you communicate ? in Chinese , in English, in Chinlish , in Sichuan dialect ?
  23. There is no way to tell what the VO will ask . I assume you have front loaded everything that is critical to support that your relationship is a bonafide one . The basic thing that they are interested is whether or not the relationship is entered solely for the purpose of immigration to the United States . If so, then, visa is denied .For K1 , the denial rate is high and from this forum's discussion , often. USCIS will let it expire . To answer your question , if your relationship is a bonafide one and your case is convincing enough to the eyes of USCIS and VO , then , visa wil be granted if you meet other requirments such as income, health check , CCP , and criminal check. Again, the law doesn't prevent you from bringing her even if you had been married 10 X before and have 30 off springs so long as the relationship is not entered solely for immigration purpose only. The burden of proof in on you to show this bonafide relationship !!! All of these complicated craps happen because too many people want to immigrate to the United States ( over 1 millon a year ) and many of them commit frauds . China for one is the 2nd largest country in the world that sends many immigrants to the US , next to Mexico . China is also a high fraud country. Combining these two factors together, we shall expect they will scrutinize everyone that is applying for visa from China much more than someone who is coming from Australia or EU , for example.
  24. I saw from some posting at VJ that June 's interview is already fully booked at GZ. Also, learned that NVC is the one who is scheduling GZO files ( China electronic processing ), not GZ . something new to know.
