  1. Yeah, it 's kind of my town since lao po is Sichuan native. I don't like the food though ,,,, it has spicy sauce in ALL of them . Caused me diarrhea . Otherwise, Sichuan is a very nice place ; lot of temples and other scenic & cultural spots.
  2. Just for reference, did you have any other RFEs or just the one? Just one . No other . Hopefully , that 's it !
  3. Hi Kyle ; On the 2nd & 3rd visa applications, did she check off that she 's married to a US citizen ??? if I remember that question is on the application. I'm always under the impression once you 've married a US citizen you have NO chance of getting a B2 visa because it 'll be impossible to prove the NON immigrant intent , which is the prerequisite of getting a non immigrant visa.
  4. Hey uncle Tsap ; Did you get your case completed yet ??? It seems that they are not working as fast anymore nowdays.... 20 business days , sir .... ie, 1 month at least. Chances are you and I may get about the same interview dates ; sometimes in June because I forgot to include photos on the 1st go around. now, i 'm on my 2nd go around...
  5. Thanks. All done and emailed out . Now, waiting again for up to 20 BUSINESS DAYS. I want everyone to know this : each time , one sends RFE response ( check list letter ) , one can expect up to 1 month for it to get processed . NEVER forget to include the BAR code each time a reponse is sent out to NVC . after 20 business days, one can ask then to initiate a process by calling them , but not before 20 days. so, if RFE keeps coming, it may take months for the application to stay at NVC.
  6. yeah , your age , please ??? if you 're young and your hubby is old , who is to say that you won't get to the USA and abandon him and marry a younger and more prosperous guy . I'm just playing a devil advocate here. that's what CO is going to think about . Give it a try anyway, there is no harm other than losing some money . Take it as a donation to the good old USA . Afterall, we buy a lot of goods from China.
  7. CONGRAT !!! at long last. you got denied in 2009 . perhaps , prior immigration history made them compelled to have a nice long 40 min chat.
  8. slim chance. there's an attorney in China that members of this forum highly recommend to consult with . out of curiousity, why your husband not inquiring here?
  9. Thanks. I doubt my wife knows what Kodak is ??? I finally got the " Check list letter response ". It says to print the wife 's name and case # on the back of the photos . I wonder how the hell we are doing this when we are supposed to scan the photos ??? Isn't it better to print them on below the photos ??? Looks like the instructions still are from the paper processing not electronic processing . Another thing is they said in the letter to allow " 20 business days " for NVC to review the case . So, another month before they forwarded this to GZ . That's if the photos are correct. Otherwise, let's wait another 20 more business days,etc...
  10. wow interesting Seems that they have predecided the case before the interviewed but can change their mind
  11. No , they don't . My wife tried it in her neighborhood and no one knows or cares about the US Consulate or Americans photos Red neck Chinese don't care about coming to the USA ! This is not Shanghai, Beijing or GZ , Fujian, or Nanning. But, the documents & photo folks nearby US consulate know exactly what to do because that's how they make their living. So, I finally got everything taken care of today and emailed it to NVCelectronic. Again, must attach that BAR CODED cover letter . The letter that they generated yesterday has not arrived yet as of today but the operator told me to go ahead and send the office the photos along with the BAR code .That letter will arrive in a few days. Nice huh !!! It seems that we have to be very proactive in doing all of these, otherwise a few months can pass by without nothing being done.If I had not called them that day, I'm sure ours won't be processed for another few weeks.
  12. called the NVC yesterday. happened to find a nice operator who put in a process request for my wife's applications since it'd been 20 business days. Today I called them again and they said they are sending me an email asking me to send 2 US passport photos of my wife scanned color as an attachment along with the Bar Coded print. Otherwise all papers are complete. I told my wife to go to the photo shop near the US consul since most Chinese photo shop don't know the spec for US passport photo . I don't want another delay.
  13. well uncle Tsap ; I called NVC today because our applications have been there for more than 20 business days ( almost 1 month). Yes, they got it but not processed yet . Luckily , got a helpful operator who said she is putting a request for processing now . Still need to wait another 10 days. They are very slow suddenly ....
  14. congrat ! who approved the waiver ? was it USCIS in GZ or Consulate ? Heard that only USCIS can approve a waiver. anyway, all the best to you .
  15. because there was a criminal " domestic battery " charge in the past , I definitely would retain a competent immigration attorney such as Marc Ellis and alike before filing any petition . This record will certainly show up in the background check. All the best for both of you . Most important of all, the two of you are living a happy life.
  16. That s a good suggestion since Aussie needs not visa to visit the US Why not file after u have become established
  17. The problem with HSBC is you can not use the same account in China and the US. They are two different banks owned by the same company. So there is no advantage to HSBC over CCB/BOA. BOA owns some percentage of CCB which is why the ATM withdrawals are free. BOA and CCB are also throughout the US and China respectively while HSBC is only in some US states and I have only seen HSBC in big Chinese cities True . Only Big Chinese cities. You can do everything on line . No fee. BOA , you must notify them when you are travelling in China so they won't freeze your account. If Paypal works and doesn't cost much , that's great way. otherwise, wire transfer it ( $40 fee each time ) . Not to do it everymonth, instead save the money and send it every 4 -5 months .
  18. Yeap, needed the Barcoded cover sheet but the 20 business days is from their worksheet. Should be a lot quicker than that! This is a bit confusing . On the NVC web site about filing I864 and DS 230 , they indicated there is no need to send the bar code if one is doing these electronically . Also, check on VJ Wiki , no need to send in the bar code if one is to do this electronically . This is all confusing to me ; bits and pieces ; even when I called the NVC line last night , an operator said about DS 260 ,which can't be used obviously for China . I really hope they will process this quickly once the 20 business days have lapsed. Had I known this, I'd have included the bar codes as well when emailing all of these. Unbelievable !
  19. HSBC . you can open both accounts in USA and China. then, have power of attorney for her mother. min. balance $100 K ; could be in investment also ,eg. IRA acct.
  20. Called NVC today and got a very nice operator to help me. Turned out that I didn't email the BAR CODED cover sheets when emailing the documents for I 864EZ and DS 230 . That might have caused the delay but they could have just printed them out and attached them. So , I went ahead to email them these two Bar Coded cover sheets. She told me to call them back after 20 business days have lapsed if I haven't heard anything yet. S*it !!! i thought i knew them all but i was wrong... Every time I called them before, always i got the 20 business days wait .This is the 1st time somoeone told me that I might have forgotten to attach that bar coded cover sheets and I DID !!! So, guys , don't forget to email the BAR CODED cover sheets that you got from the receipt page . I emailed the receipt prints but they had no bar codes. I guess that might have screwed them up . Huh ...
  21. We may join this group if we get a notice from NVC soon . They said it may take up to 20 business days ; so far 17 business days so another 3 more business days to go. So far no news other than the autoreply when we emailed all the documents for I864 EZ and DS 230. We are doing CR1 and OPTIN electronic processing.
  22. I do have one question to ask . Since you are able to visit her many times & know her family well , why not get married & file for CR 1 instead of doing a K1 visa ?
  23. is this for K1 or CR1 ??? For K1 , there will be a lot of questions of the seriousness of the relationship. It's so damn easy to deny K1 and to let it expire ( like thanks for your money ) and nothing you can do about it. If it is for CR1 , as long as you can document it that your marriage is for real , not for immigration purpose only ,there is no reason why it shouldn't be approved !!! It's not the government 's job to determine what kind of man or what kind of woman your wife or your husband should look like . He or she could look like an alien boy or girl for God 's sake but who cares ??? Being an alien boy doesn't disqualify one from receiving immgration benefit; marriage for the purpose of immigration soley is a disqualification to receiving immigration benefit. and of course, in case of concern, consult a top immigration lawyer, like Marc Ellis ,etc...
  24. My only suggestion is please contact someone like Marc Ellis now to get a full review of your case. In reading at your 2nd posting, you seem to know WELL about the immigration law. I am surprise that you didn't front load everything. Plus, why even bothered with K1 when you are more than able to get married in China and apply for CR 1 ??? anyhow, you know your situation well . if you are innocent , i have no doubt you WILL win . Since you can visit China 10 X in one year, I believe you're financially capable to get the best legal counsel out there.
  25. looks like they 're so firm believer that the relationship is a sham . if you can share with us what is the red flag ???
