  1. Hi Congrats she did a good job, we had a similar experience, but it was not income level.
  2. She did a good job at her interview. Looks like the questions were all simple and straight forward. Things she would and should know about her relationship. Your wife kept a cool and confident front to them as she answered. You both prepared well. As far as that blue slip in her packet. They do that stuff to people. I feel that "preparation" is simply a given, if you care even a little for each other. Who wouldn't prepare to their best ability? LUCK is what rules the day in Guangzhou. I know a little girl that started working on her interview 3 months before she even got the date, went to her first interview with a rolling briefcase full of documents, even had all the known blue slip documents we had ever seen published that had ever been asked for. She just wasn't lucky that day. Everybody BETTER prepare, I don't know why I even said that sentence, it is such a given that it seems foolish to have to say it again to anyone that is actually drawing breath at this time. And don't forget to rub your particular "lucky charm" that day, cause with something as arbitrary as an interview in Guangzhou China all the preparation in the world means ZIP without LUCK. Glad to see your wife was prepared (as she should have been) and very LUCKY at her interview. Have a wonderful life, and do care about her last statement she made in your write up. tsap seui Thank you, We talked about luck before I think luck is when preparation meets opportunity. Not necessarily for this process. I would say we were lucky, the girl next to her got a blue that day. Although she seemed to know the mistake she didn't seem to concerned. I don't know what changed their minds I am just glad they did. I am aware of that last sentence, I ordered the Direct TV Mandarin package for her 20 a month will see how that works next week coming to install that. Yes she has been on her own for years, but close to her family. I realize this is a big step for anyone.
  3. HI we would not have passed if it was not for Eunice. I can not tell you how grateful I am for the help. I asked my wife if she would not have had Eunice's help would she have passed she said no!Sorry for the late reply.
  4. My interview was in the morning of May 10th, 7:30am. I planed to go there and line up at 7am, because there are too many people waiting. But Mrs Yo told me do not need to go that early, just need to be there at 7:30am, because our interview were planned in advance, I mean the sequences. we got our number on the 9th, my number is 1111, I like this number very much, do not know why, maybe I felt it would bring me good luck. (HINT! 11-11 is our Wedding DAY) I waited a long time, finally it was my turn, I wished I would not be that nervous, and do my best. I went to the 23rd window, that mean should be an american, with white skin, I said hello to him, and he asked me to give him my passport, I gave it to him, he looked at them and asked those questions: 1, your husband’s name? 2, his work? 3, what family members does he have? 4, how did you meet each other? 5, how do you communicate? 6,when did you get marry? 7,how many times did he come to China? 8,can he speak chinese? When did he start to learn it? 9, can you speak english? (he asked this in english.) 10, when did you learn english? (also in english) 11, did he married before? 12, why did he divorce? 13, what did your family think about him when they see him? 14, are you a member of the communist party of China? Have you ever been to America? Afer those questions, he looked at our photos, and sometimes ask who is in the photos. I feel I answered those questions ok, I just kept smile, and answered all the questions very politely. After that, another American man came over and sited down beside him, and they talked some, I could not hear what they talked, he opened my paper works, I saw a blue paper, and my name was on that paper, I was very nervous. But he stamped on the blue paper, then get another pink paper, when I saw this color, I was not that nervous. He put the pink paper and my interview notice together and gave them to me, and then told me I passed. Wow, I was soooo happy at that time, I showed my appreciation to him, he nodded to me and smiled to me. I was really happy about this. then I went to wrote my address on the mail place, and then got my telephone. The first thing I did was text you and share this good news with you. I know you were worring, so I want to let you know this news firstly, you must be very happy too. I think we are still very lucky, of course, you were very thoughtful too, you prepared so much paper works for it. So you are very great. After that, I asked others, they told me before the intereview, they planed to give me the blue paper, but after the interview, they gave me the red paper. They stamped on the blue paper because they canceled that, I do not know whether this is true, but I still feel happy. Now I can leave and start our new life, I am very happy, but just because of this, I feel sad too, because I will be so far away from my family. Interesting how the blue slip was switched out! I don't know if it was the huge pile of evidence and lots of pictures or what she was holding changed their minds.
  5. My wife had her interview today 11:30am got the text message Dear I pass! LOL Will post more results I like to thank Chilton it was not for the introduction to Eunice we would not have passed with out a long wait! Much gratitude to everyone here and over at visa journey. I am just glad that the hardest and the longest wait it behind us. I felt like an expectant father in the hospital! HAHA not nearly the same, that will be our next step down the road. Will post interview results later. Thanks again everyone!
  6. Great news how long did it actually take after the interview to get it? What did they tell you in the email response?
  7. This is absolutely ridiculous what they are doing to people. Have you heard anything yet? My wife goes for her interview tomorrow. I can't believe it takes so long after the interview to get the visa. What BS! I hope you got it already it's May 9th today! I am really worried about our own case.
  8. You will be fine do not switch gears just have lots of evidence at interview time. Age does not matter I do not believe. I personally know a 60yr old just brought his 20 yr. old fiance back from the Philippines. 4 decades of difference!
  9. Congratulations! And they say interviews are 3-5 minutes! I happy for you both that's awesome, but 40 minutes that's a long interview I like to hear more......
  10. I am addicted to coffee too you might want to stock up on some folgers singles packets those are great and easy to pack can almost fit 2 boxes in 1 box. Theres like 19 packs in a box. All you need is boiled water for them. Just until you get settled. Good luck I too hope to live and work in China someday.
  11. Wow 36 months UGH! I hope you pass this time! What is wrong with Guangzhou?
  12. Awesomely quick we have been waiting 15 months for this day. My wife's interview is on the 10th Congrats get everything ready and good luck!
  13. A double thank you too . I was very wrong in my thinking I did not know I needed the 2010 tax return. I filed for an extension planning on my wife being here and then we would file married jointly. Lucky I found out I need the 2010 return or no visa, ugh. I am filing those tomorrow. I was aware that I needed the original I-864 my attorney tells me no you don't. So I printed out the I864 and took that copy and re-signed it myself in front of a notary. I asked him point blank for the original. I will be calling him 1st thing tomorrow. It seems the I864 original must be sent in. Great attorney he cost me 3+ months already.
  14. Hi Congrats what a relief, I am wondering if I could get a hold of Eunice to go over our case before the interview. I don't know how to get in touch with them. My wife is in Shenzhen so it's only an hour away to Guangzhou. Anything to help her pass her interview May 9th and 10th would be a big plus. I could not stand waiting another 6 months. Thanks in advance Ed
