  2. Taz that really tears at the gut, I think her husband should be castrated, how he could ever let another woman come before his child is beyond me maybe he was better off with the mother even with her problems. Taz, when I read what you wrote above, my heart also took a fall. I am very lucky that my wife comes from a large family. She is the youngest of 4 in her family. Two years later, China started the "One Child" Law. My point is, I have 5 kids, 1 step kid and 6 Grandkids. I told my wife about my kids and then, 5 grandkids before we married. She is very anxious to come and meet everyone. She kind of brags now, to her friends in China that she is a Grandmother with 6 grandchildren especially now that #6 can truly be considered her Grandson because we were married before he was born. She actually glows when she talks about it. I also must agree with Darrell about the man concerning his kid. But worst of all, I know that his wife influenced the entire situation. I will be one of the first to stand up and say, family is first before everything and that includes all children blood related or related by marriage. I treat my Step Daughter (Ruixue) as if she were my own. I have a responsibility to take care of her and guide her as she goes through life. I will always be here for her when she needs me. Just as I am with my other kids. Sorry if I'm ranting on, but your story really hit me hard. When it comes to children, no one should treat them poorly. Bryan
  3. I have had very good luck teaching new words to my wife. In most parts, she has done very well on her own to learn. She is able to pick up a book written in the level for a young adult, and will have little trouble reading the text. I am very surprised many times as she reads over difficult words such as "Constitution", "admiring" and words with silent letters such as "Knife". I asked her to go find an English to Chinese to English translator, with word pronunciation. Along with this and a small personal diary, she writes down any new words she does not understand so she can ask me about them when we talk. My wife seems to understand how English has many words for one thing. She gets a little confused by this at times, but in the long run, she does very well. The best news is, she realizes how important our daughter (my step daughter) needs to learn English, so this week, my step daughter has started an private English course for a month @ two hours every day. She tells me she really is enjoying the class. The past 1 1/2 years I have done my best to teach my wife English. When we first started to talk on the phone, her English was very limited. Now she talks to my mother once in a while when I visit my parents and is very excited that my mother understands her English. There are still many words my wife needs to learn, but that will all come in time and after she arrives in the U.S. I am very proud with how well my wife has learned English. Bryan
  4. Will do Jeff! I am hoping with the latest P4's, we are just around the corner!
  5. Long_strider, It is always good to hear from those that have been through the trials and tribulations and now only know happiness and are together. Please share some of your stories with us soon. Bryan
  6. Darrell, I'm waiting to see when you get your P4. Then I'll know ours is very soon to come! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_17_206.gif
  7. Hey Trigg, Look at my time line. We're in the same boat. It took me 161 days for NOA2 and now were stuck with several others waiting for P4. By the end of this month, we will have been in the system 1 year. Jeikun, Congrats on the speed. I hope you can keep the momentum. Bryan Bryan
  8. PJ, Perhaps the thingy color would change on the 300 (Bronz), 500(Silver) & 1000th (Gold) post. Maybe some could represent Membership Time with CFL. Just a thought. Bryan
  9. Thanks for the photo link. The photos are very nice. I looked on my page and as far as Bandwidth goes, there is plenty, I also had to refresh the page a few times before it loaded completely. I still have work to do on it so loading for the first time is slow. Sorry about that. Bryan
  10. Those are some pretty good pictures, are some of them missing, I got a few red "X" in there? If you would like to see our pictures, just E-mail and I will set you up with the information. What part of Chong Qing did you live in? Some of the pictures look like I have been there before. Because of so many photos, you might need to refresh the page if you do not have a fast connection. The community my wife lives in is Dong Fang Jia Yuan, and is located across the Jianglian River. Some of the photos are from the Garden at the river and also in the Gele Mountain area where my wife is from. The rest of the photos are from just about every where in CQ. Bryan
  11. Hi Lenjia, I also have about 400 photos from CQ and you can see many of them on my family web site. Just click the link in my signature below. Sorry I haven't updated in a while with more photos. Marty, my wife does have a sister and 2 very beautiful friends looking. Bryan
  12. PJ, Maybe do what NicolaNSam suggested but instead of 6 months on the other topics, perhaps 1 year would provide the room needed. Some of the information that is used on a daily or so basis could maybe, be kept in a spreadsheet or listing. (i.e. Phone numbers, special addresses web or physical, etc.) Even moving those archived items to Darrel's space he has offered using a direct link that is only visible to CFL members. Put the archive in a ZIP format for additional optimized space. I am thinking the combination of the above plus the additional space should give Candle space for a very long time. Just a thought. Bryan
  13. This is really good news! Maybe this suggests that if the March P3's are getting P4 in June, Then I am thinking maybe those of us with April P3's could see P4 in July!
  14. This is great news. I hope that the rest of us waiting will see something soon. The clock is ticking and before you know it, She will be here! NOW! Get up and start cleaning! Congratulations!
  15. I wonder what it would take to get CNN to revisit this story now that a couple years have past?
  16. This might be one small step for you and your better half, but it's one GIANT leap towards the rest of your life together! Sorry! Just adding more comments to advance my blue thingies. Happy to hear you do have some movement. The first NOA is always the only fastest notification you will get. Hang on to it. You will need it later in the process. Bryan
  17. you can count on me giving you what ever help you might need. The only problem is I don't think there are many of us here in Wisconsin.
  18. Don't tell me! It came from a tree and is kinda hard. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_6_2v.gif Just kidding, It looks great. Also congrats on the interview! Bryan
  19. One of our members is the creator of that site. Hope you and many others find it useful. Bryan
  20. Hi Mark, It seems that not only you and Jeff but also Se_Lang is around the same time. Unfortunately due to a few things I must attend to in the states. I will not be able to go to the interview with my wife. but my thoughts are with all that go that same day. As far as the letter writing to Senators goes, I have done that too but the biggest problem is finding one that cares enough to read them and respond. Forget Wisconsin government. I think they are all Drones. When it comes down to spending extra money to help people, I think it falls on deaf ears. Now that we are in an election year, every one involved only wants to save those $$'s and not spend them for something that is very badly needed. Bryan
  21. Hi dchangpr, First, welcome to CFL. My wife and I went through the same thing about not receiving P3. As for calling GZ. FORGET IT! You will never get through. At least I never could. I sent several emails that I never got a reply on. The emails I didn't get a reply on I had selected "Other" in the question / Topic drop down box on the email form. I finally sent an email using the question / topic "When will you receive my packet from NVC?" can't remember if that is exact words, but it's similar. I told them that my wife had not received the P3 they had told me they had sent, so I gave them my wifes phone number also. To my surprise, my wife called me and told me that GZ called her and mailed a new P3 to her that same day. You can look at our time line and see how things have progressed from there. I hope that gives you an ideas. Good Luck! Bryan
  22. Hi Jim, I wanted to comment about what you said about lawyers. First off I did not go through a lawyer. I think it's a waist of money unless a complication comes up. Second, you and I have a very close / same time line. The only difference is I filled K3. With everything going on at GZ a lawyer is not going to have any more luck pushing things through or getting additional information (unless he knows someone inside the Visa Center), than you or I will. That brings a funny story about a lawyer and a couple getting their Visa in GZ. I seem to remember the story as this. "While standing in the long line at GZ and waiting our turn. A lawyer along with a couple in tow decided to advance to the front of the line of many people. Once the lawyer and couple reached the front of the line, the person at the window instructed them to return to the "End of the Line" to wait their turn." I might not have the exact wording of this story, and I even think I might have seen it posted here on CFL. But this just goes to show you that when the time comes for you to stand in line and wait, then you are just as equal regardless of how many months or years you have waited, as the person standing next to you. Just my .02Yuan worth. Bryan
  23. Jeikun, What I do is I have several sizes of my wife's address with Chinese on top and under that, Pinyin. On the customs form I cut and past one of the small lables I have and that seems to do the trick. I have never had a problem with delivery this way. Just a little FYI. Bryan
