  1. Hi Scott, Welcome to CFL! You have found a family that will always try to give you and lead you in the right direction. I am filling K3 for my wife and I have not used any attorneys or Lawyers to complete our paperwork. So far we are now waiting on P4 and I have never received any RFE's. Just as the others have said, if you feel you need an attorney or lawyer, be careful! Many have NO idea what they are doing. (opinion made from past postings on CFL). What part of China is your future half from?
  2. You takin' my CFL away? ... Huh punk? ... Are ya' ?! Then "make my day!" ........... http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_12_22.gif
  3. Don't feel so bad. I filed our W-7 along with my 1040 and sent it to PA as indicated on the instruction page. (both 1040 and W-7 together). Some idiot in the mail room in PA (pre sorting I'm sure) sees the 1040 and my address as Wisconsin. Soooooo.... not realizing that there was a "CHANGE" to the way things were to be filed, sent my 1040 to KC and sent the W-7 on to the ITIN Dept. I get a call x# weeks after I filed and was told that I ...."Must file a W-7 in order to clam my wife". Needless to say I went off on them. Now I must wait until next years filling but this time IRS will owe me interset on 2 years of tax adjustment instead of only 1. So it doesn't surprise me to hear about 1040's being lost. To bad many of the stall couldn't do the same. Good Luck getting everything straight.
  4. Hi James, I read your posting and I must say it is good to get a laugh ever now and then. Don't get me wrong, I'm laughing with you and not at you. Look at my time line below and then go take a Good cry or shout. I felt the same as you when I hit the first Road Block. I do wish you and your wife a speedy process, but think of that as only a "Best Case Scenario". I hope you don't get an RFE, then the screaming really starts. I have been lucky that I haven't had any RFE's but my I-129F did get held up for 3 months at NVC just waiting to be signed and sent on. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_2_203.gif Other than everything else that can go wrong, I can only give you one piece of good advice. "Be Patient". Good luck and don't hesitate to blow off steam when you feel like it's starting to get to you. We all have our "Boiling Points". Bryan
  5. Dirk, I must agree with Don, but feel free to use my data if you want. If you need more then send me an email through CFL. Easier that way! Good Luck! Bryan
  6. I,ve been encouraging Qunying to keep in contact with Weiping when she comes to the States. I haven't said anything to my wife about it but knowing her, she and WeiPing are already planing something. They just haven't told us yet! My thought is sense our ladies will be here just before Winter, a Mid to Late Spring or Summer get together would be great! I can't think of a better way to help our ladies from being home sick!
  7. Congratulations! to those who have been waiting for a year or more! Your prize for this mark in time is .... You Get To Wait Even Longer! .... Turtle, I feel your pain but the only thing you have that GZ can't take out of you is your patience. It is very hard to do, especially when you've been married only 6 months longer than the wait you have had so far. I am fortunate enough to have friends from CFL that have a wife and or fiancé that lives close to my wife. If it wasn't for Marty's wife and Darrell's Fiancé, I think my wife would be going ballistic by now. This waiting has been hard but our reuniting will be all the sweeter! I am hoping that once my wife has arrived along with Darrell's Fiancé and Marty's wife, we have a chance to get together to talk about those long days and nights we had to endure. Hang in there! Everyone is pulling for every body here at CFL. Bryan
  8. Hi Darrel, Thanks for calling me today and telling me the good news! I have been in a good mood ever sense the news. I am very happy for you and when I get a chance to tell my wife (if your MM hasn't called her yet) I'm sure she will be happy too. This could put us at an interview date around the end of September. I'm a hopin !!!! Marty, Congrats on "FINALLY" getting P3! It's about time. I know Wei Ping must be happy ! I am hopping all this great news will cheer up my wife!
  9. This is why, in my prior post, I said "Possible Human Error" instead of committing to shacking my finger at anyone. Some people just do not understand some of the simplest instruction and must read it several times. Unless we (CFL Members and friends) get to know and understand this couple then the best we can ever do is offer possible solutions or additional avenues not yet thought of or considered. There is just simply not enough information or personality in the initial posting to warrant condemnation for the situation. Wolfpack is asking for recommendations to help fix a potential disaster. So instead of shooting this couple down, let's see about helping them with positive reinforcement. Anybody can point a finger!
  10. It seems to me that maybe you should try to contact DOS and just ask a few questions about this situation. At least they might be able to give you some kind of direction. I just can't see you being shot down because of a potential human error. Not putting the additional info was bad, but I would think that the over all coincidence for not revealing all information would be severe enough to want to contact DOS and attempt to make corrections. This might end up pushing you back a way, but in the long run, you and your better half wouldn't have anything to worry about later on. My understanding also is that there is no Statute of Limitations for falsifying government documents. (Don't take may word for it, it was something I remember reading a while back) I'm not trying to preach to you. Just bring up a few things to think about and maybe help you make the right decision. Good Luck! Bryan
  11. Hi Marty, Qunying tells me when she and Wei Ping talk. I am so happy they talk. I think it helps some because of knowing someone close that is going through the same thing. She is still irritated with GZ, and I can't blame her. Nothing like putting ones dreams on hold! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_8_4v.gif I feel your pain on the file! I get so irritated when I get an email from GZ telling me "my wife has been scheduled yet ......."
  12. I'm not so worried about me as much as I am about my wife. I have been told I am one of the most patient men anyone has met. I just try to considere all attitudes and do my best to keep a possitive mind about the whole thing. My wife, now, she is getting a little irritated at the blinding speed of GZ. The biggest thing is trying to help her keep hope that she will get her visa and be with me this year. (boy ....! when you say it that way, it almost feels like it's just around the corner). We have been married 1 year 7 mos to the date. Having only had the oportunuity to be with my wife twice in this time is a little hard. The biggest problem always seems to be the timing. I want to go over to see her, but what if her interview comes while I'm there. That would be great, but I am not rich and the trip to see her would dip into what we have saved back for her to come to the States. I do agree that this waiting time we have all had to endure is far beyond the norm. But we are all in the same situation with our hands tied behind our backs. All we have left to do is wait! My friends, I feel for everyone that is going through this and have yet to start. I can only give you my support and encouragements. I am right here with you! Bryan
  13. Taz, At least you got a response with something more than a canned message. I am still sorry that things have not turned around for you about your husband, but I do thank you for the info you have posted, my wife might see her interview (K3) Mid-Oct. to Mid-Nov. That would place my wife and I at 16 to 17 months from start. Bryan
  14. Could be a number of reasons! There have been couples here at CFL that have gone through at break neck speed, while others just seem to run a snails pace or slower. It is not out of the norm for this to happen. Look at my time line below and you will see one way that someone could pass you by. Hang in there! It will all come to pass! Bryan
  15. With the Chinese population mostly Male, and the females are all marring other than Chinese men, Wwweeelll..... Makes one wonder! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_28_113.gif
  16. The hours I got for DOS said 8am EST. I have called many times at 8:05am and only waited about 2 to 4 minutes. Just FYI!
  17. Darrel, I got an Auto Response to the email I sent Monday. I have noticed that sometimes I don't get one. This is also the emails I never get a response to. So maybe you should resend the email and see what happens!
  18. yes I sent it to GZ, LOL my MM asked me to. she got upset with GZ cause we both emailed GZ at the same time and they never responded to her but responded to me with the canned response in a day. I think you will have your woman here before Christmas maybe by Halloween. Did they say what year Halloween or Christmas was in?
  19. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. The U.S. does recognize the Chinese marriage so your friend will need to find a good divorce lawyer that specializes in this type of divorce. Keep reading this thread, because I knew several here at CFL will be able to give you better advice than I can. But for now, tell your friend his marriage to her in China is "Legal".
  20. I'm so sorry to hear this bad news. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_6_25.gif
  21. Pretty smart thinking. I'm sure it made a difference. I was using an online Speel Check and I guess I was going to fast. It must have landed on your name just I hit the button....... OOooppps.. Sorry about that! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_2_66.gif
  22. Hey Bryan, I don't expect any miracles, but it will be interesting to see what happens. Our ladies are still in touch. Yours is getting a little ticked at GZ. Understandable since she cut back on her income. Marty, I know. Not only has it been 1 year today we were together, but she is also very concerned because school will start before you know it for our daughter and she was hoping that they would be here in America way before that time. I try to give her as much information as I can and when I see a possible time calculation that might suggest a possible date, I tell her about it. We are both getting anxious and now that we finally told her daughter she would soon be living in America (didn't tell her earlier, wanted her to finish school with good grades, too excited to concentrate) has now started going full steam in an English course and doing very well! I'm happy our ladies continue to talk because I know this helps both of them very much. I think they will also be friends once they both are here, which will be good for both. As for Qunying's income, I supplement what she has lost due to closing down some of her business in anticipation of coming to America soon. It's a little hard at times, but then she never complains to me. I always seem to understand what she feels when we talk on the phone.
  23. Marty, Good going! I hope he can get at least some what of an idea as to what kind of schedule GZ is actualy running. Sure would help alot of us feel better if we had an idea about this. Bryan
  24. This happened to us. I sent an email and GZ contacted my wife by phone and she got her P3 3 days later. FYI
  25. Every time I use "Other" I never get a response!
