  1. Hello My Friends, Our long wait will soon be over and our life together will begin! Over the following month, I have been giving information to my wife about everything I could think of to help her feel easier should the VO ask her an unexpected question. now more than anything, I am very excited about the dates coming. Although I will not be able to be with my wife Oct. 18th, I know I will be awake until she calls me and tells me how everything went! As would be anyone, my wife is very worried that something will happen that will keep her from getting the visa. I continue to encourage her that she will do very well. As do many of our SO's, the fear of not speaking good enough English to satisfy the VO is enough to make one shake in their shoes. I tell her to not be afraid to let the VO know that she is a little scared. Talk to the VO the same way she talks to me on the phone or face to face. I have done all that I can do at this point in time. I will continue to let my wife know that she has my full suport and all my thoughts for a successful interview. So my friends, here is to all of you that have yet to go through this. If you are not able to be with your SO for the interview, at least ensure them that they will not fail. You may not be there in person, but your heart and soul will be! Good Luck to all! Bryan
  2. Hi Spike, You only need 1 Tax Return so the others, I would send to her but have her only show the most resent to the VO. If the VO askes for more evidence, than have your wife show the others. I think sometimes to much info. is not good! Good Luck! My wife will be at GZ Oct. 18. Bryan
  3. Hi James, Here is the information that is found at the GZ site for K3! GZ Web Site! I'm a K-3 visa applicant, what documents should I bring to the visa interview? * The applicant should bring the following original documents: * Forms in the appointment packet * Chinese passport * Application fee receipt * Four visa photos sticking to forms DS-156 * Notarial birth certificate * Notarial marital status certificate. If divorced before, previous divorce certificates for each marriage are required. If any child from previous marriage will also apply for visa, a divorce decree showing the child's custody is needed. * Notarial police certificates are required from each visa applicant aged 16 or over issued by his/her local municipal notary office where he/she has resided for at least six months since attaining the age of sixteen. Police certificates are also required from all other countries where the applicant has resided for at least one year. * Medical report * Affidavit of Support - I-134 and a copy of the most recent year tax returns from the petitioner, if any. *Relationship evidence, such as correspondence, photos taken together to prove the claimed relationship to the petitioner Translations: Police certificates from other countries not in English, or in the official language of the country must be accompanied by certified English translations. Translations must be certified by a competent translator and sworn to before a notary public. I hope this will help you! Bryan

  5. Hello Alex, My friend, we have all had these same feelings one time or the other during this process. I have been so irritated at the different ways that DOS or GZ would give me information that I could hardly sleep at night. Many times I would call my wife and we would talk about how long things were taking and if there were anything we could do to help speed things up. Unfortunatly there is nothing you can do but "WAIT". My wife was getting so irritated at GZ that if it hadn't been for Darrell's (Se_Lang) wife and Marty's wife, I think she would have been a complete basket case by now. I know that the word "WAIT" is the one most hated word to many but it is the only thing you and your wife / fiancee can do for now. I do agree that it is not fare at times, when you read where maybe a couple whom have filed after you, now have an interview date. This is a rare thing, but it does happen. Now that in 3 weeks my wife and daughter will go for there interview in GZ, I can only look back and think about how much we went through. I can only give you hope that your day will come and then maybe you too, will be writing these same words (or close to it) to someone else who is starting to feel the tension and the frustration. Unfortunatly, you are not alone! Fortunatly, you and many others have all these friends here on CFL that will always be here to help you through the toughest of times. You might even find one of us close enough where you can call and talk to in person! Patience is one of the toughest things anyone of us can ever endure. The only advice I can give you is to hang in there! There really is a "Light" at the end of the tunnel! Alex, please add your timeline to your signature so that we may share with you, are experiances. Take Care and Good Luck! Bryan
  6. Use Chinese (PRC). This should allow you to read and write all versions.
  7. Hi Mark, that sounds like fun. We are planning our trip now, my fiancee is handling the itinerary I know Jim will be there for an interview on the 21st. PJ's interview is a couple weeks earlier, if I remember.... Not sure on everybody's availability. Hey Turtle and Mark, I had hoped to be there Oct 18 with my wife for her interview, but my job demands I am here for that time. Mark, I would like to give my wife your phone number so if she has a someone to call if any problems come up. It does look like I will be traveling back to China mid November and then my wife and daughter will be coming back with me. Turtle, I hope your interview goes well. My wife will be coming to GZ Oct 13. If you and your wife are there around then, I'm sure she would love to meet up with you. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/26/26_26_1.gif http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/26/26_6_7.gif
  8. hi gene, yeah, dos will tell you what date your p3 got logged in to their system. hey bryan, i got the impression that the slowdown between p3-p4 was because of the homeland security biometric scanning thing. what i heard here on cfl was that they stopped processing any visas from late april to early june, then focused on student visas. for about the year prior to that it did seem that the p3-p4 interval was something like 4-5 weeks, and interview was another 4-5 weeks after that. i got that from following the timelines on k1k3.com. steve Steve, There has never been any confrimation that GZ stopped doing K1/K3's in order to process Student Visa's. What went around on CFL were a few people trying to make a good educated guess as to the slow down. I'm not saying this is or was true, just that I did not / could not find anything on the web sites or by calling DOS to support what was being said. Keep in mind that people here were just making the best of what information they had, which is usually very little from any thing or one in any official capacity. Your right about the prior year(s). But as you can see, BCIS and all that is part of them can change the rules almost instantly. You are still left with the words you read on GZ, BCIS or DOS web sites.
  9. The additional $6 for domestic and $11 International, was suggested by Flychina as possibly being added to the tickets. I have not heard of any other confirmation for this. At least it wouldn't be a surprise.
  10. That was a good try! I just looked at Flychina.com and I found a round trip from Chicago to Shanghai for $860. The one way ticket for those who like to have their wife or fiancee help you get the return ticket cheaper in China, was posted as $498 from Chicago to Shanghai and $640 if I go through to Chongqing. You save half of the domestic fare if you book the straight through flight. Normaly my wife can get me a ticket for less than $120 one way from Shanghai. With the Airport tax now being added to the air fare, expect to see that additional $6 to $11 on your ticket.
  11. I don't think you will have much choice but to go. If I remember correctly, he must provide this information from every place he lived sense age 16. I could be wrong and this information could have changed sense my wife and I went through the start of things, but go to the BCIS web site, all this information should be there for you to read. As for the time lines for K1 or K3, those times were good before March, 2004. With everything inplace or having to have been put inplace, GZ is stating that both Visas are seeing 3 to 5 months or more. Bryan
  12. Hello beijingjenny, You do have a unique set up. Getting your P3 is a good sign that things are going good for you. There are a few things you should keep in mind about the P3 and the time between until P4. First, it will be at least 1 month before you get P4 and according to the GZ website, it will be more like 3 to 5 months. Also once you have the Visa in hand, you have 6 Months from the date it is issued, to travel to the US. So it looks like you will not need to worry about the contract you have for work. As for the Police Certs from Chomgqing, my wife lives there and she did not have any problems. The cost was only about 300RMB. Your husband will need to go to the district office he was born in. Should be a cake walk from there. Good Luck with everything.
  13. John, I think the dates you are questioning for returned P3's Jan - Feb vs. returned P3's April - May, was around the time GZ was installing "Biometrics". This, according to GZ was slowing them down, not to mention that their computer program was having problems talking to the computers in the States. I have a feeling that this question will get you a "Dead End" answer. That's just a little FYI from those of us that agonized through that period.
  14. It seems that you may have a thumbs Up from CFL! I know Qunying and I would love to go along. Here's an idea! If we all go together as a group, we might be able to get a tour group rate for Air, Hotel, etc. Could make for a realy great meet. Also for those how coupld not make it to BJ, maybe an organized get together State Side for the same dates! ........ You can count us in.
  15. He had to have some way to show Weilin the way back to Texas, incase he got lost or couldn't drive. What better way?!
  16. You can always do the Garlic Bread on a flat skillet. Might not be as good as an oven, but the effects are the same! .......... Yummi!
  17. We break into your regularly schedualed thread for a "Se_Lang" update! September 4, 2004, while I was in my work truck going to my next Cable TV Service Call, I was startled by the sombering tones of my Nextel Alerting me that Darrell (alias: Se_Lang) was now in the Kenosha, Wisconsin area with his "New Wife" Weilin. We chated for a short time and set a time to meet at my house. At a little before 8:00pm CST, Darrell and Weiling were sitting in my home engaged in conversation. Darrell and Weilin are now enroute back to Texas where once settled in, Darrell will be online to give everyone all the details of his new "Adventures in Paradice"! Stay tuned for the latest update! We return you now to your regularly schedualed thread already in progress! OK, so I would never make a good news copy editer. But I am happy to say that Darrell and Weilin are a very happy couple. We even woke my wife so they could say hello to her. That's OK, because they did the same to me when they were visiting my wife. In all, we had a very good (but short) time at my home. Darrell has asked me to tell everyone Hello and that he will be back on CFL in a couple days or 3. Everyone have a great Labor Day Weekend!
  18. I guess what I need is anyone that has the medical forms for download so I can help my wife to complete them. My other question would be "Is the medical forms in Chinese or English?
  19. Well everyone, Darrell and Weilin should just about now be re-living September 1 all over again. They were to leave China September 1, Beijing Time. I'm sure that in a day or two we should hear from Darrell and Weilin now in the states! WELCOME HOME!
  20. Hi Richard, Thanks for your input. I already have the information provided on the web site. What I am looking for are the forms (some hard to find) that are not readily available on line through BCIS or DOS. As you know we are going the K3 route and there are a few things different than with K1. Not extream but still enough to make a difference. Unfortunately the link provided on the GV site for the medical papers is a broken link to DOS. As far as the DS-230 goes, the form expired May 31, 2004. So I was trying to find the latest and greates. Last but not least, I have never been able to find anything to tell me what is included with the K3 Packet 4. Also unfortunately, the information a year ago is no longer valid because of the numerouse changes BCIS and DOS have made. Again Richard, I appreciate the effort you made in trying to help out. Thank You Very Much!
  21. Hello Everyone, I need a little help from those of you that have gotten your K3 Visa. If you have a list or a link (I'm having trouble finding one) with the forms required for the interview, which my wife must complete. My biggest question for K3 is, does my wife need to complete Part 2 of DS-230?
  22. Hello Everyone, I am happy to say that Darrell (Se_Lang) and Weilin will be heading back to the USA on Sept.,1. Darrell and his MM met with my wife Qunying today and they called me so we all had a good talk on the phone. He told me he didn't have alot of time to get on a computer because they have been constantly on the go ever sense GZ. He will be telling everyone about all they did (well ... maybe not ALL they did) once they get settled back in Texas.
  23. tywy, I remember that show! I used to watch it every Friday night when I was a young'n. Wish I could pick like Buck and Roy could!
  24. Hello Everyone, Thank you very much for all your well wishes! It does seem as though an eternity has passed sense my wife and I filled our paperwork. But now it is time to reap the rewards of our tolling and troubles. To those of you that have just started or who are now waiting your turn, it will come. I wish all of you the best of luck!
