Those mountain stalagmites are made of limestone? I always wonder what causes the limstone to form in those "pillar" shapes. No ridges, no sign of uplift; nothing tectonic. No river to carve them. No ancient ice flow. No volcano. Did they pop up? Were they erroded down?

I read its dog meat day in Yulin. I think your steak run to Nanning will call into question the source of Yulin dog meat, if you are caught. Dog meat vedors have a repution to keep so: Please be careful. I guess you don't sell meat unless you have a permit or dog license.....

Actually, it seems like a pretty good book. Though I can't read it, I can understand it!!!! In America, god forbid anybody young knows what happens (except by watching dogs in the school parking lot..)

You know there is nothing I like more than watching my wife try on her new set of clothes or shoes. She looks damn good in them. It's a process where I like what she is wearing, bring on the next thing and this requires removal of the old things. yes . . .. . .. ...all. mmmm hmmmm . . . all sweetie! ....those new shoes are best appreciated without the distraction of those old clothes. and walk around a little bit too..... I've learned to tough out those expendatures.....

I get the: 'You can not understand.' I don't know if it's because: I'm to stupid, or I'm to white (not enough Chinese), or she does not want to waste the time to tell me. my reply: 'Maybe you can not understand that I understand' creates humorous confusion and all is good!

Ours was sent in July. We did receive a NOA to extend the expiration date one year, but who cares a "large hairless tail rodent¡¯s solids excretion orifice" about that?

Hong Kong to Nanning
Mike and Yan replied to danb's topic in Communications, Planes, Shipping & Money
That would also be my recommendation. Take the HK light rail train to Shenzhen, then take the high-speed train to Guangzhou. Then take a cab or airport bus to the airport. Should take about 3 hours, depending on connections. where is the Customs for entry into China when you take the rail out of HK? what about return, where is customs for HK? -

Mike and Yan replied to griz326's topic in Communications, Planes, Shipping & Money
Be careful of the travel month. August may be more, May and September less. You will find that stateside sites may be limited and of course need a round trip. Try FlyChina.com -
How Was Your Mooncake Day?
Mike and Yan replied to chilton747's topic in Culture & Language Discussion
I bought a nice cheescake, used a toothpick to draw a moon and dumb dragon (because I am not good at drawing good dragons) and called it a mooncake. My wife loved it and we also spent time on the "rug"!
