Congratulations Bill.

I just got my wife her immunization paper (I-693A) signed by a civil surgeon and she received no shots. She showed the marks on her arm, answered some questions, I paid $20 and that was the end of our civil surgeon experience.

Interview report...

B) CONGRATULATIONS -
I have pinyin books and an English/Chiinese dictionary. My major problem is phonetics and sounds. In our school when we are learning our own language, they use phonetics a lot. If you could somehow create the pinyin with phonetics, that would be great. xie xie

I live in Saint Lucie county, but I think marriage license is controlled by the state. I went to the local courthouse showed my ID and my fiancee showed her passport with the visa and we were given the marriage license. We had to wait 3 days. We will get married either tomorrow or Monday and my fiancee still has no SSN. 240162 Is Saint Lucie county in Texas? 240200 Sorry about that. I thought Peachy was from Florida.

How to Handle Wrong Birthdates?
GaryandSherry replied to atkinsonrr's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
I am not sure these dates are going to be an issue for your visa. My SO gave a wrong date of one of my son's birthdates at her interview but she was never questioned about an incorrect answer. I think if anything, you will receive an RFE which is much easier to overcome than have to wait for a change in your I-129F paperwork. I honestly doubt they will even question these dates. -

Hey Peachy... Why are you waiting for a SSN number to get married. We received our visa one day after you and my SO arrived in the US one day before you. We have the marriage papers and are just waiting for the rings. I called the court house and they will marry us but it isn't called a JP anymore. Not sure what they call themselves, but they will marry you for $30. No witness required. Since we reside in the same state, I am sure the same law applies to you. They assigned all zeros to her SSN#. Good luck!!

GaryandSherry replied to kungfupaul's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
I know what you are going through. We just went through that process and were successful. I know you also will be successful. Time does seem to slow down, but concentrate on her arrival. I did that and tonight my SO arrives. We now begin our loving relationship which will last the rest of our life's. -

Background Check
GaryandSherry replied to tigerfortune's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
I understand all name checks are done in the US. I can't see a communist country letting our FBI travel through their country asking questions on a foreign citizen. I think the first security check is done on yourself. The second is requested by GUZ on your SO, but again is done in the US. -
Mike, my SO's interview was very easy. Question: Can you speak English? Answer: Yes Question: Where did you learn English? Answer College Question: What is the age of your son? Answered Question: What is the age of my youngest son? Answered VO smiled and said "Have a great time in America" The whole interview took less than 2 minutes. I think the fact my SO was an English teacher in China was a great help. SO arrives in Orlando Florida 8:54pm tomorrow night.

question on K-1 and ex wife
GaryandSherry replied to ptcrusier333rph's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
When there was information I could not get and could not remember, I simply put "unknown". I don't think they expect us to do a background check on an ex-wife to get the information we don't remember. -
Petitioners Passport
GaryandSherry replied to Rickmt57's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
This must be something new. I made a copy of my passport on my local printer and never had it notarized. It was submitted with my I-129F forms and accepted. I would suggest you follow the new directions though, since I don't keep up on the new regulations. -
I really feel for you and your SO. This is absolutely wrong. I would be calling DOS on a daily basis, calling and emailing every state/federal representative in my state and making my name well known to everyone in the system. I can imagine your frustration, but unless and until someone in a higher position gets active on your petition, nothing is going to happen. You are lost in a black hole and someone needs to find you. Raise hell with everyone and anyone you can think of that can contact the powers to be to get off their A** and find where the problem exists. I pray this will get resolved soon for you my friend.

CIS Ombudsman >> 2006 Annual Report
GaryandSherry replied to MikeandRong's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Good information but I seriously doubt there will be much change to what we are seeing in delays. It all comes down to funding, which is apparently not going to happen.
