  1. Thanks to all who replied. I am doing research on my step father and hopefully will find the information I need. I appreciate all these great suggestions.
  2. Thanks David. You make it sound so organized. Great work.
  3. Thanks again Mike. There may be several unknowns on the names/dates/locations. My step father didn't have a good relationship with his children, thus little is known about them. What happens if I don't list them? How will they know he has children? My step-father passed away in 2003 so getting this information is going to be next to impossible.
  4. Thanks Mike. Guess I will have to do a lot of digging for names/birthdates/step brothers/sisters.. etc. I hadn't planned on this one.
  5. My SO received Packet 4 and in it is a form GIV-24. I called my lawyer and he said she probably received the wrong forms. Since my SO is sleeping, I won't wake her up. Can anyone confirm this is a valid form for Packet 4? Thanks to all members for their great support.
  6. This sounds like a fishing story. Why would my ex-wife even care if I remarried? Seems to me they were looking to delay the visa approval for some reason.
  7. congratulations on passing the interview. I sure hope my SO does as well.
  8. I can understand your frustration with the forms, but I think you don't understand the need for each of these forms. It is designed for you to have these forms available at different places before and during your visa interview. One in particular is for the physical examination. I am not sure what the other 2 are, but I am sure they go to different locations. If all you have to do is fill 3 forms and provide the requested documentation, isn't that worth the work to get a visa to be with your SO?
  9. You people haven't obviously been in the boy scouts or military. I do agree that my SO's bed was like a board, but why complain when I had the most beautiful woman in the world laying next to me? I didn't have that being in the boy scouts or military. As for her preference? She really doesn't care. I think she feels the same as I do. We can sleep anywhere, as long as we can lay close to each other.
  10. My 2 cents for what thats worth!! First and foremost, I understand this is just in the planning stages and the boyfriend hasn't moved, or am I wrong? Second we all have spats with our spouse and at one point would rather run than fight. Is it possible this is what is happening to KK? It just might not become a reality. Third, if it does happen, she has to remember, she is moving a US citizen out of the US, without the consent of the father. If he is in fact paying child support, he will have visitation rights. No legal system would allow her to move this child to another city let alone another country without first getting permission from the father. Bottom line is play a wait and see game and if push comes to shove, get the father of the baby on your side. Game over!!!
  11. There have been known incidents of bribery, but never have I heard or read where money is taken inside the embassy. If it happens outside the embassy, simply show that person the #1 sign.. (HeHe)
  12. Congratulations on such wonderful news. Have a safe flight home.
  13. Congrats Bob. May your interview be short and successful and your marriage be long and happy.
  14. I just checked the form on VJ thanks to David. I see no place for writing any answer and it appears to be just a check box for the things that apply to you. I agree with David. Leave them blank.
  15. I am by no means an authority on these forms, but I was told by my paid assistant to never leave a field blank. I was instructed to put "N/A" in fields which did not pertain to me. Perhaps someone with more experience can help you with this.
  16. It seems everyone has some reservations about questions asked at the interview. My SO and I have started to ask each other questions either on chat or the telephone. The more information your SO has memorized, the less she is apt to be nervous. It is like taking a final exam in school. There is a good post on here with 90some questions, but don't take those as the only questions that may be asked. Be as prepared as possible, by creating your own questions of relevance. What is the make and model of your fiancee's car? How many children does your fiancee have? What are their names? Where do they live? What are his parents names? Where do they live? 2nd suggestion is to copy stacks of emails that are recent. Also phone records and anything that will exhibit your ongoing loving relationship. Have your SO have her paperwork in an orderly form. I have suggested my SO buy folders and put tabs on them, so they can immediately be retrieved. These are but a few of the items I will have prepared. I have seen posts about not taking too much paper. I say hogwash. One other thing I drilled in to my SO is her initial greeting with the VO. I told her to say "Hi.. How are you today".. all the time with a smile on her face. All other recommendations are welcome. Good luck to all P4 receipients.
  17. Sorry to hear of this mixup Mike. Don't blame your SO. We all have to remember the customs in China and the customs in the US do differ in many ways. I do remember my SO telling me there was only one form she had to return to GUZ, so I would definately check with DOS again.
  18. Congratulations and best wishes. Lets all pray for the red slip
  19. Sorry to hear your news Paula. I can only imagine your frustration. The US Government is not noted for speed. I worked for them for 20 years and trust me, you get the same amount of pay whether you work hard or work little at all. I do know they will have a timeline in which to review your issue, but I don't know what that timeline is. Lets hope and pray it is a short one. Best of luck to you.
  20. Congrats Toni. Hmmm. Similar story here. My SO called yesterday and GUZ said she had passed the security check, but still no interview date. I called yesterday afternoon and was told we had an interview date. Needless to say, I couldn't wait to wake her up with the news. I wonder if she went to work today?
  21. Good luck at the interview and best wishes in your marriage.
  22. Congratulations. That makes it 10 this week, I think. May 8/8 be good luck for our SO's. Will you be there for the interview? 227153[/snapback] Thanks Mike. I sure wish I could be there, but unfortunately I run a business and I am it. The SO and I discussed my going to GUZ, but it won't be beneficial other than moral support. We both agree that my staying in the US and keeping the business running will benefit us both in the long run. Good luck to you and Sherry.
  23. I agree. Congrats to all and to those waiting, just try to be patient. Notice, I said "TRY". As for the time I have to prepare for my SO's interview, I have been doing everything possible and have just a few things to do before I send her my paperwork. As for my house, I know a good cleaning company. To be honest, I think my SO could even walk in to a dusty house and not even care. We just want to be together, get married and have a happy life.
  24. Thanks to all my fellow members who have been so supportive. I just called DOS and we have an interview date of 08-08-06 at 7:15am. What great news!!!! I should call my SO and wake her up, but it is 3:10am there. You can bet I will wake her up early though.
