  1. Having written data bases, I know a data base is only as good as the information it is able to obtain. I feel quite certain, the US Government's data base is not prepared to handle so many multiple last names. My SO's last name is also "Li" and we are waiting in line with you. Hang in there my friend. We shall overcome!!!
  2. I bet your SO's last name is "Li". Mine is, another poster's last name is Li and we have been waiting forever on the security name check. It isn't fair they should have so many Li's in China, but if they didn't I wouldn't have the love of my life. Have patience my friend. We will succeed.
  3. Congratulations. May your new life together be filled with happiness and health. My turn is coming. (Some day!)
  4. Congrats Gman. Now wash those dirty dishes and get that house cleaned up... LOL
  5. I was told by DOS that even though we are interview eligible, they haven't completed the security check. Last week I was told all background checks were completed. Go figure!! As you can see by my timeline there really is no excuse for not having completed background checks by now. I agree with another poster. GUZ does not know what the word "FIFO" means.
  6. Hang in there Mike. Good things are worth waiting for. I am in the same situation as you, but I will never give up the hope. My SO means more to me than my own life, so I know how you must feel.
  7. congratulations. One more step to go then your dream comes true. Best of luck to you.
  8. Hi my friend. We are both in this waiting game together. I see people with an interview eligible date of June getting interview dates and our interview eligible date is 05-19-06. DOS just told me today that we have no interview date.
  9. Congratulations. I just called DOS. Our eligibility date was 05-19-06 and we still have no interview date. Its good to see GUZ is waking up anyhow.
  10. Great news Hunter. Congrats. I can't wait until I can post something like this on the board. Stay in touch.
  11. The questions on the DS230 can be ambiguous at best. To answer your first question, your SO should try to get a police report from any city in which she lived for more than 6 months. This does not include pre-college, but does include college. Most cities keep these records central to their city as each Chinese person has a city book, but having a report from the other cities stating no criminal activity won't hurt. I think I also answered your second question in my first answer. The time period starts after high school.
  12. Hi Mike.. Join the crowd.. My SO is also waiting for an interview date and was interview eligable 05-19-06. Both she and I were told by DOS and GUZ to expect P4 next month and the interview sometime in August. Having said that, I am not holding my breath. GUZ works in mysterious. Just keep calling and "one day" you will get encouraging news.
  13. I have watched this post since its inception. I think there have been some very good answers given by the members. What I haven't seen is some of the major issues that would be addressed at the interview. One being "How many times has your fiancee been to China?" Another is confirming this love relationship continues and is in fact real. I think only the VO can determine this and are two of the most relative issues when granting a visa. The first issue can be resolved with a letter from the petitioner if only one trip was made, but the second issue is something that can only be proved by phone records and email which GUZ won't have until the SO is interviewed.
  14. I was instructed by an advisor I hired to submit notarized bank statements with the initial I-129F application and again when I send the amplifying data to my SO to take to the interview. I am self employed and as such will also provide 3 years of tax returns for both myself and the business. I am overqualified just on my tax returns, but having the bank statements surely won't hurt. I was not requested for the number of years for each bank account, nor the deposits I made. Simply the balances as of any recent date. This was printed and notarized by my bank officer.
  15. Follow-up for ameriken. I see other people stating DOS stated the name check had been completed. When I posed this question to the DOS rep, she simply said "No name check had been requested". I questioned her on this, explaining I was a member of CFL and almost all members state that their name check had been completed. She said there are times where a name check is not requested or one is requested after the interview for security reasons. I doubt this will happen to my SO, so I am going to go on the assumption everything is in order. I will be sending out my package to my SO next week just in case GUZ decides to surprise us with an early date. Thanks for the suggestion.
  16. Thanks to all that have replied. If possible I think this information should be made available to all petitioners so they don't waste the money we have by calling a 3rd party service. It is a simple process calling DOS. Simply call 1-202-663-1225.. Press 1 0 0 (immediately.. Don't wait for the messages to complete) I had a representative on the phone almost immediately. For those tracking, my SO's application was eligable for interview on 05-19-06. Her name check has not been done? I questioned the DOS rep why the name check had not been done and was told this may be done after the interview and may take 2 weeks. Has anyone heard of the name check being done after the interview? I was also informed my SO will probably have her interview scheduled in August.
  17. I have read where the time between P3 and P4 is on the average of 40 days. My SO continually called GUZ and was told everytime that her background check was in process. I called yesterday (06-16-06 4PM) but called DOS. I received a totally different answer. I am told she has indeed passed all the background checks and is in queue for an interview. Why does DOS have more information than GUZ? How hard is it to schedule an interview? Am I missing something here? Doesn't GUZ have computers? Doctors schedule people months in advance, why can't GUZ?
  18. Paula.. I have a question. Were you told to bring this documention from the instructions in the P4. I would think to be fair to people, the US Government should document exactly what they need before the interview. I totally disagree with this VO. You could have provided this information when you entered your POE. I think it sucks. Sorry we have such laws. We are all one people and should act as such.
  19. Hang in there my friend. Just think of the happiness that follows after she passes her interview. Relish the good, forget the bad.
  20. It sounds way TOO easy. From my read, she was only asked about her son who was not a visa applicant. Are you saying she was asked no other questions? Not asked to provide any proof of communication? Not asked anything about her husband? Not asked for an I-134? Only asked for pictures? They switched to Chinese because she was having trouble hearing what? "pictures" and "visa? Sharing of details is optional, of course. Are you sure this is all? 221825[/snapback] Congrats Hunter. Don't we all wish our SO's all have the same VO.
  21. Hi Mike, I too have only been to see my fiancee one time. It won't create a problem for you provided you show proof of your on going relationship. I will submit a letter explaining my circumstances and beg the Embassy's forgiveness. In addition I will be submitting stacks of emails, etc. showing proof of our daily communication and desire to be husband and wife. I actually made plans to marry my SO during my visit, but was advised by my paid advisor that a I-129F would enable us to be together faster than if we filed as being a married couple. I think just send as much amplification data as you can. Have your SO as educated as you can about you, your family and children if you have any. Names, locations, dates of deaths, etc. There is a very good post on here listing a lot of the questions one of the ladies was asked. I learned a lot from this posting and I am sure you will also. Good Luck Gary (Port Saint Lucie,Florida) Li Bao (Huhhot) K1 Met on line, December of 2005 August 3rd - August 24th 2005 with Sherry (Beijing and Huhhot) September 26th submitted I-129F (California) October 14th 2005 NOA1 received January 5, 2006 NOA2 received approved January 24, 2006 NVC approves and forwards I-129F to GUZ April 28, 2006 P3 received May 01, 2006 P3 couriered to GUZ
