  1. And, who is the applicant on the G-325? Her, or me the petitioner?
  2. And if she did not bring any medical records with her? Is it needed before the AOS can be filed, required or optional?
  3. Is the I-693 for additional vaccines since the medical exam or as an update to her medical history. What if she does not know her medical history? Do we still file the I-693 with no update on it? Are we supposed to go to a doctor here in the US? I need to know real soon.
  4. My fiancee arrived in SF on 9/24. On 9/26 we received a letter from CA stating that they had received the necessary clearances to continue processing her case. They really don't know what they are doing. We married on 9/27 and have never been happier. Toured the Nothern California Coast, she was most amazed with the Avenue of the Giants (Redwoods in Humbolt County). Well there is one thing, we are having a difficult time setting up the computer to type in Chinese for emails. We have gotten to where we can read emails and the toolbar for switching language is present. Each time she goes to type a new letter it doesn't work without lots of effort. Any advice would be welcome.
  5. Thanks for the advice. It seems we can not walk the EAD into an office before getting married. I would really like to have done that. We will walk the AOS and EAD into the office as soon as we can.
  6. First of all, my fiancee arrived safely at SF and was fully wound up despite not getting much sleep on the plane. Initial observations are that SF Chinatown has nothing in common with China and she can see why diet books sell so well here. The sun seemed brighter and she liked the trees here, Sacramento. BCIS would not process the temp EAD but handed me the address to mail it to for K3'ers. K3'ers do not need a temporary EAD but just then the security guard announced that the building has to be evacuated, suspicious package. She was looking tired and I realized her body was drained eventhough her mind was wired. So I am here due to CANDLE LAG, the jet lag our fiancees and wives suffer and subsequent sleep giving us JM's time to post on Candle. The BCIS office didn't really seem to know what to do but said they process the I765 with the I485 there together (hint?). From the net it seems I can send it to the Calif Serv. Ctr (CSC) and endure their 2 month processing time or take another shot at the local office after we marry, 2 more days. Or it's back to fighting with BCIS. I just want to get her into the BCIS computer.
  7. My fiancee had a wonderful time at school in New Zealand. It is a similiar process, if the school accepts you the visa follows. The school would have even helped extend her visa, but we had other plans.
  8. My sympathies go out to poorlady. I hope everything works out for you. My understanding of the K1 visa is that it allows you to enter the US to marry the petitioneer only. Otherwise, you are illegal. Having been in the black hole I can only support LEGAL immigration. I fear that illegal immigration made the black hole worse. It was difficult to get media support and understanding. I have heard of some people that fake the fiancee to get the visa. I do not know if this is such a case but I can only help with LEGAL immigration.
  9. I would like to know if some of the other members are getting ssn and drivers license
  10. I considered doing the same thing and even went through the registration process. Alas the K1 came through. How would she go to the interview in HK? I visited the consulate there, very nice compared to GZ. We also considered getting married in New Zealand while she was going to school there. I thought as a student NZ would take jurisdiction. It is easier to marry in HK, NZ or Thailand but the consulates might kick it back to China because of her needing a legitimate visa to go to HK again. It seems to contradict the rule that says your case will be processed in the country that you married in. Congratulations, as well.
  11. You have to balance the risk to the value because your fiancee might have to pay taxes on it if you claim it is worth more than $50usd. That amount might have changed if anyone knows the value please post. The value is what you claim on the customs form. My packages to Shenzhen by USPS took about 10 days and were never opened. I wrote her address in English and taped a photocopy of her address in Chinese to the package also.
  12. I have experienced this also and find it unfortunate. Early this year I posted alot here on Candle including letters I wrote and replies from email. The Candle community was very supportive but the chat board ###.com.cn in China kicked me around like a fool. It was unfortunate.
  13. Thanks for the interesting replies. Can anyone answer the question about the medical exam?
  14. Since being delayed for such a long time the consulate raised their fees, as we all know. It seemed unfair to have to pay for the visa again but this is the response I got from Hays via the Info Team. Has this been applied uniformly to others? Also, is a second medical exam needed if she enters the US before the first exam expires?
  15. If you arrive at 10pm will you still need to get your luggage and clear customs? I've stayed in HK many times. I actually like the place but they drive on the wrong side of the road. And, they speak a language closely resembling English. (haha) My thought is that it is rather late to cross the boarder and have reliable transportation in China. There is a border to SZ that is supposed to be open 24hrs now so it can be done if you really want to.
  16. I have to agree this board has been very helpful and a great extended family. I appreciate all the members here.
  17. What is the front of the building, where the entrance is now? Is it the river side or just the other side of the parking lot?
  18. Thats great news!!! I'm so glad you have gotten out of this mess and have her by your side. Even if you do live in a small town (compared to her city). Mistie and I wish you a happy life together.
  19. It sounds terrible. They seem to ask for too much. If you take the information there yourself they will not ask any more questions. Maybe it's time for a vacation.
  20. I finally confirmed from GZ that the EMS was on it's way for my fiancee. Her handle here is rmistie. She is still in New Zealand and having a great time studying there and living in a "western" society. The program lasts 11 weeks and has allowed her to be OUT OF CHINA. I highly recommend this for anyone who has a few months to wait. She could easily extend her visitor visa there or convert to a student visa. You could even marry there easier than in China. Americans do not need a visa to go there, just pop in. Soon we will finally be together, living under one roof, in the same time zone, making each other laugh. Thanks to all those that have helped us and to Candle.
  21. Wow you really had a smooth interview. You must have a very smart wife! Congratulations to both of you.
  22. I called AS this morning. The last time I spoke with him was months ago but he immediately recognized my name. Seems he was aware of all my correspondence. From just my name he identified my fiancee and her birthdate. Hmmm. Then, without any drama he got the cable number for me. It was sent Monday. We don't know why it took so long. But it's on the way to GZ. Thanks AS, we really appreciate your help. Now the mail. BTW; She loves New Zealand and the University there. She is the top of her class and asks the instructors for more work. It is not difficult to extend the visa if desired.
  23. Congtatulations to both of you. I know that you have been waiting for a long time and deserve to be together.
  24. Having been one of the shocked recipients of the famous on-hold letter several months ago I found the recent Congressional findings interesting. Lets see now, it is due to a lack of interagency communications that a hold was placed on the cases. And, it was due to a lack of interagency communications that the 9/11 event got pulled off? This seems to be begging for a media writing campaign.
  25. What package are you waiting for? Do those boxes contain the initial applications or name checks?
