  1. OK, to be fair, I did date an American girl who would get jealous of me trying to be friendly when I met HER relatives. She would give me a hurtish/sarcastic giggle and say something like "you wanna stay here and talk to Uncle Lou"? Huh? She really got jealous when me and her sister in law hit it off. I guess she didn't like her. It was simple getting acquainted talk. Now she was Jewish with a very dominating mother, so maybe insecure. I have noticed a lot of similarities between her and this one. ... The thing is I was strongly considering asking her for marriage. If I had stayed in CA I would have done just that. There is a lot of info on the net about Jealousy. It isn't love so they say.
  2. You think? I don't know if I would count my comments since this didn't exactly work out. Like The Don's wife mine is (was more so) jealous of any and everything I like. I had not thought about it that way until I read his post. Even if I stay on the phone too long with a customer she comments. I had to get away from her when working, we both work out of home. She even did not like my hobbies and interests. Now my last ex WheW. Man I thought like most American women I knew it would be OK to be sociable with the ex's daughter and grandaughter, Uh Uh honney that was an explosian like you would not believe. I had to get out of the house just to keep her from swinging too much, with me at the end of the swings. I can't count the knots on my head. I finally had to swing back more than one incedent to get her to cut that out. And that just isn't my style at all with a lady. Like Randy said though, she is a nice neighbor now. I talk to my kids much more often and longer. I have no idea where the cat went, but I miss him.
  3. IN the Dallas Fort Worth area Plano, TX has to be the place, but there really isn't a Chinatown. Things are spread out. On the Ft Worth side Arlington, TX has some food and other stores centered around the intersection of Pioneer Parkway (303) and Collins. Dallas side: Richardson, TX used to be the area where a lot of Asians live and still do but Plano, TX has become the area now. In fact everythig migrats North of Dallas little by little. Maybe one year Frisco, TX will be the place to be. Plano, TX has a lot of Asian stores intermingled with everything else. You have to know your way around. There is a big thick yellow pages phone book in Chinese my wife got and put colored tabs on it. She has found Chinese doctors, stores, & services of every kind and it seems like she can find anything she wants or needs that is owned by someone who is Chinese. She has a GPS and found her way to everything. I will have to find out how she got the book and post it. Just bumpig into folks in the Asian stores gained her some good friends that helped her as well. I would say the Aisan population centers around Rice Middle School in Plano (highest Asian student population in Plano ISD)and fans out from there. 50% of students are in Nat Jr Honors Society and they teach High School classes at this school because so many advanced students. Robinson Middle School area is also popular with Asians and has a High School next door for advanced math & etc. Plano has many of the things Asians would want for their kids: tutors on almost any subject both private and classroom setting on weekends and evenings. A lot of sports outside of school and music tutoring. I here there is training for adults as well in english and etc. North Plano High School wins the Texas orchestra competition every year of late. Rice Mid Sch has chess champions and other things similar. Lil One walks to her pre-algebra on Sunday at a nearby business building, one of several to chose from. Piano teacher not far away and she is Chinese. There are a lot of resturants. There is the North China resturaunt, my favortie, for just that type of food and the employees have the North China accent, so I am told. Same owner has one for Southern Chinese. How about that? As stated earlier Houston area has Bellair, TX which is the largest most modern best Chinatown I have ever been too, worth the visit!!! Eat anything! Buy anything!
  4. Took little one easter agg hunting at a church thing yesterday at a park. Woke up feeling real real bad, but I got lucky.
  5. Well we are finally there. Thanks for all the info Dave. Now to get these letters from friends redone. I wonder if pictures of remodeling a house will work, showing her laying tile and grout and me cutting them with my new toy. You know she is laying while I am cutting. And pics of the disagreements in the process
  6. Yep Jess we were at the wall near the tomb too in 2005/6. Wife, Son, Daughter and I made it to the end wall. We didn't ride the slide though http://i39.tinypic.com/2llkmm9.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/6ypfky.jpg Son and I with some of the renovation getting ready for olympics behind us. http://i42.tinypic.com/6hmj3o.jpg Summer palace lake was frozen over enough to walk on. Son took this good shot: http://i41.tinypic.com/16beas7.jpg
  7. Welcome to CFL. I think plenty has been said here. After arriving in the USA my wife sent her daughter back to her sister for awhile, which was a mistake - all in the name of a better education. It really hurt the lil one and she came here full of some kind of anger and jealous of me, but that is all straitened out and her behavior is good with restored trust. Though her daughter always lived with her before we met, the grandparents were in the home doing most of the work of raising their granddaughter. Now that wife and daughter are here in the USA, for good, my wife has had a frustrating time adjusting to full time responsibility, though hardly ever lacking in confidence in herself. I guess I have tried to encourage a more warm approach. My wife says she had little to no hugs or affection growing up or loving words. Yet she would appear normal to anyone here. I started off with a lot of patience with their more regimented, non playing, distant ways with lots of work and achievement, but I have cautiously fought for a more balanced approach. This puzzles my wife based on her experience growing up, but she tries her best and I try to teach little one how to best approach her Mom and not verbally fight back so much. But this has taken a a couple of years to get where we are, and there is a ways to go. Patience. Lots of patience, yet voice your concerns and ways of doing things with as much explanation as they will listen to. Going to church has helped my wife as well observe other families and how they interact with their kids verses their children's behavior and achievement. I don't say their ways are wrong, but of course my background is so different and I just cannot stand by and say nothing, or not try to do what I think is right. But it is always a balance with a lot of compromise and even more patience.
  8. I have a friend or 2 who are pharmacists. There is a shortage currently. They are giving 30K bonuses to sign up, or they were the past year or 2. My local CVS friend paid cash for his Porsche and he isn't that old. Another friend in OK could change jobs and buy a new car that he needs but he just does not want to leave his little nursing home supplier and go retail because he hates talking to people. I believe it takes 5 years of college and then you must pass your states license test. You have to test in each state I think. Good career and my son says he may fall back on this if he doesn't make med school.
  9. Darnell I am just thats all. I never do things the right way, much less the cheapest way. well not unless my wife gets on here and reads your post. I'm just stobborn. Besides I am supposed to have the equipment and monthly free.
  10. This is exactly the way my home is. It is unbelieveable the diference this makes, and I figured it would. Maybe I will even drop the land line now.
  11. sykpe ? Nope, it is a card that is inserted into a laptop that allows a mobile internet connection. It picks up signals from cell towers. IN fact they said that this is what it is really good for. It is why thay made it possible. I guess my cell phone signal wasn't enough over all these years of compaining. If your signal is too low it does not work in the house. Darnell yes she needs to use her cell and so do I. I prefer it over the land line. It keeps folks guessing where i am. Also we are stuck on Sprint for at least another 1.5 yrs. I signed up with a little company that used their system and then Sprint bought them. I kind of hate to leave I have been with them so long. Now my company uses them and I imagine I will be direct bill on my phone anyway one of these days. 5 bars. Man I got the biggest smile today. What a gift. And it is suppose to be free since I threatened to quit due to the signal so low in this one little pocket.
  12. I don't know if anything has been posted about this or not, but if you live in a rural area and poor cell phone signal strength, then Sprint, and I imagine others, finally came out with what they call AIRAVE. I have only been yelling at Sprint for YEARS for an antenna or some signal booster mini-tower or something on my property. Sitting in the car up by the street is old. This came out in August but I didn't know until wifey clobbered me verbally about reception. I don't blame her. OUCH My wife is working from home now and MUST be able to be paged and called in order to do her job when she is on call, like today for the next 7 days. Here is a pic. It is the white device in the back. It has a GPS antenna and hooks into the internet router to broadcast in the house. They say it does not use the local tower at all. 5 BARS BABY http://i43.tinypic.com/2uogvhz.jpg and yes that is my modem on ice. But I think it is the Fax line giving the trouble for internet connections. Repair man comes tomorrow to check the wiring and then determine if we need a new modem. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HOOOOOOOO In red just for Idave

  22. Tsap, You got those 3 pictures? Dennis needs to send them to a feller for a test.
