1. Hi Joanne, Yes, let's keep this thread going. I would agree about the nutrient depletion for microwaves in general, but the radiation issue is non existant if the door seals are intact. Still I won't stand in front one while it's operating myself. Yes, food is much better cooked / heated on a gas range or oven. BUt the modern american time-limited lifestyle has produced these items to save the time we all desperately need. My SO does have a washer. We will see how she views the drier. I know that when I visited her in October of last year, she washed my jeans and they never did dry... She does use a microwave oven for limited purposes now. Still, for silks and woolens hand washing is really a requirement. -James
2. Hello, I have my second trip to China planned for August to be there for my fiancees birthday. But, our K1 process is moving along well and we are now waiting for P3. So, it seems there is a possibility that an interview may be scheduled before then. I VERY much want to support my fiancee by being there. Can an interview be delayed to a specific date range if this occurs? What would the procedure be? Thanks in advance for ALL the advice you give here, it is VERY valuable to all of us! -James
3. Hi, Yes, it seems like a hard decision. We are currently talking about this since my next (second) trip is planned for August so I can be with Loving Candle for her birthday. BUT, we are moving right along and we MAY get an interview before then. And if not, it may be shortly after. Anybody know about the risks of asking GUZ to delay the interview to a certain date range? I can probably get a flight out of Shaghai (POE in China for this trip) or Shenyang (destination airport) for about the same price as trying to change discount tickets already paid for. I REALLY want to be there for the interview since we both feel it will make a big difference. We mostly communicate by yahoo chat since our very busy schedules and the time difference let us do this frequently and the phone calls are infrequent at best. I also sit in a cubicle at work, so phone calls would be very noticable too, BTW. -James
4. Go to Seattle and turn left. 200821 ...and then stop in Albuquerque and ask, "where the hell am I at!?!"... 200885 Just follow old 66 in from Winslow. You'll get there. -James
5. Congratulations! There are many successes here lately! -James
6. Relax and go with it. Show her how you are committed to her happiness and then SHE can show YOU how she is comitted to your happiness! -James
7. I sang for Loving Candle's family during my last trip, but none of them sang for me! Why am I always backwards? Actually we could not get into the Karaoke place they wanted to go to, or I am sure they would have. I sang my three standard acapella numbers I do when asked if I can sing: "America the beautiful" "Amazing Grace" "Summertime" I did those on the way back from the Badaling Great Wall. I also did some old Neil Young stuff and then more when I was playing guitar for her relatives at her house. -James
8. I live in the Highland area and not many Chinese around here. I would have to drive a ways to find any. Orange Co. is mostly Vietnamese and Koreans. 198806 Hi Ron, There is a VERY large Chinese community in Irvine, South O.C. a 99 Ranch market right on Culver off the 405. Many Chinese all over the O.C. Little Saigon is in Westminster and most of the Korean community is in LA (Korea Town) but La Palma ( 2 blocks from me) has such a large Korean community that half the local library is in Korean. -James
9. Congratulations, Another step down the path. -James
10. Hi, Since naturalization will take a while too, would you consider returning to Canada to emigrate her to there? Then both of you could come back here as a married couple? If I understand your story you were in Phoenix to complete your MBA. I have been lead to believe that Canada has a much more liberal process for Chinese immigration. Is this true? Can anyone comment on this? Would it not significantly shorten the time? -James
11. Yes, Scott! This one goes into my 'K1' folder now! -James
12. good luck on finishing the process well and soon! -James
13. Hi, In the case of my relationship with Loving Candle, I just discovered last night that one of my assumptions about what she knew about something (my / our online business) was just dead wrong. She had never looked at the website or shopping cart so she had a different set of concepts that what I thought. You ALWAYS need to be sure of the assumptions that you are working with. This is the first key to successful discussions I think, understand the same things in order to discuss them. -James
14. Congratulations! I hope that everything goes very smoothly from now on! -James
15. Hello, I have a full duplicate of my entire I-129F package as recommended on VisaJourney. Did you keep one? If so you can make a copy of your backup set, keep the copy and resubmit. I think you should keep the botched package for evidence in the future. If you do want to return that, you should also make a copy of that for evidence. -James
