  1. I just noticed in the topics panel on the right this one says "Osama Bin Laden Killed by warpedbored" Lol, -James
  2. Hi, Since I will have a fairly expensive surgery in January (Cataracts) we have been discussing health insurance in the USA and costs without it. So, our daughter will graduate from college with a business degree in less than 3 years. I am about 6 years away from Medicare age. How can I take care of my wife (15 years younger) when this happens? I expect our daughter to be able to get a job with health benefits before age 25 when she can no longer be covered by my employer. -James
  3. Terminal 3 rocks! I spent 4 hours outbound and 8 hours inbound (with my wife inbound) on our last trip. Once I was in Bejing I went straight to Starbucks. Then we had dinner at the Kenny Rogers chicken place upstairs. Free WiFi in the Starbucks. They let us sit there for 5-1/2 hours! I bought a coffee, then when the employees started giving me the "haven't you finished that yet" look my wife bought a juice drink. Lots of really modern totally clean restrooms. A large variety of food. It is the best airport I have ever been in! Now, LAX... -James
  4. Hi, I'm guessing from your description the 'Uber Hotplate' isn't a hotplate at all, but really an induction cooker. These are common in China. My wife asked me to get one for her, but since we have a gas stove at home it mostly sits unused. These can be bought in a 99 Ranch store or online (we got ours at Amazon). http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JJVHA...x_ya_oh_product -James
  5. There is no recall currently, just a safety advisory. I took my mat out of my Prius as soon as I heard the news story. Then when I was in for service last saturday I asked about the recall and they said there wasn't one yet. They did say that even if you had the correct mat they were advising removing it until they actually determine the final solution. -James
  6. iTalkBB has cell phone access for their plan for $2.95 per month. Both my wife and daughter's cell phones are registered with iTalkFreedom so they can cann China whenever and wherever they want. http://www.italkbb.com/BB/enu/enu_features.asp#11 -James
  7. We have it and both my grils love it. If you add the iTalkFreedom then they can use their cell phones too. -James
  8. Hi Jim, I feel bad about not volunteering to help, but Loving Candle and I are in China now and we won't be back in LA until Sunday after 6:00 P.M. -James
  9. In california there is a statute on the books forbidding "DWA". It means "Driving While Asian"... -James
  10. Not yet. Since we just went to Disneyland, we are going to China as soon as our daughter gets out of summer school. Yes, very fast processing in California with no interview for the 10 year GC. -James
  11. It took just two months from filing to receipt of the approval letters. -James
  12. Thanks! It's issues like the channels that REALLY make me want to have english language screens in the router... All our laptops have internal wifi so I hope to avoid putting wires into or through the walls in my wife's new dollhouse. She is just very excited about finally getting there and getting moved from her old house. -James
  13. Hi, We HOPE to go to China soon to see the house we bought and visit my wife's family (swine flu permitting). I want to take an american wireless router so I can understand the setup menus. Has anybody done this? Any experiences to relate? -James
  14. As a matter of fact NO! I-751 (CR1) 545.00 included the 80.00 for biometrics. Just to bring everyone up to speed. We just received (2) NOA's today. Both say the same thing. It took two weeks, Mailed out everything on Monday two weeks Ago. Sorry, my bad. I did send separate checks so I could insure they knew they were processing TWO applicants. -James
  15. I assume that you sent a separate check for $80 for biometrics and you justs didn't mention it? Anyways, congratulations! Our NOA letters took about a week after check cashing. -James
  16. Good advice! Both my girls are studying for finals, but I will tell them to do this ASAP after that. -James
  17. Hi, we got our NOA for my wife's I-751 submission today. We did not get one for our daughter. We sent three checks, but the single letter gave a sum of $625 which is for all three checks. Will we get a separate NOA for our daughter? She has been asked by the DMV to prove her continued legal status in order to keep her drivers license. Our daughter was included in my wife's I-751 form. -James
  18. Hi, It appears there is a HIDDEN deadline for I-751 application. Both my wife and daughter are now VERY concerned because their college has asked them for documentation that they will still be legal after the green card date. That means that we MUST get the NOA from Laguna Niguel before then. This was unconsidered. Maybe it should be added to the FAQ. MEANWHILE are there any numbers on recent I-751 apps in California and how long it took for the NOA to get back home? -James
  19. We got two of those also. I think this is a great new thing so that you KNOW that you MUST take action! -James
  20. Thanks Jesse! The drivers licenses and learners permits is a great idea! -James
  21. Hi, We are in the process of doing our I-751 and are curious as to what items were submitted by couples that did NOT have an interview but just received a 10 year green card. We are in Southern California. -James
  22. Hi, I have two kids from my first wife. both are out of the house. My wife and I have no kids together and my step-daughter lives with us. In part 5 it says to list ALL of YOUR children. Since the petition is for my wife (and daughter) she says that means we ONLY list her daughter (my step daughter) and do NOT list my kids. Comments and experiences please! -James
