1. What I could never understand was "delivered" to mean DHL has delivered the packages to Guangzhou consulate? or is there another "sitting place " where the files are kept until Guangzhou enters them on their computer ?? 174406 Yes. yes. yes - it HAS been delivered - it WILL sit until entered. At least the consulate has accepted responsibility for it.
2. Probably nothing yet - check for (actual) shipping dates of Dec 9 or 12.
3. Absolutely wonderful! Best news I've heard since, well, Nov. 24! Congratulations!!
4. What I've is that the parents of a Chinese person living in the US stand around a 50-50 chance of getting approved, if they show the strong ties to China. All others are much closer to a 0 chance. They will (gladly) take your money for the privilege of hearing them say, "No".
5. Chinese Characters Handwriting Recognition XP handles this pretty well, even without installing the Chinese version.
6. From the application: "You need to provide a document from the government agency requiring your Social Security number that explains why you need a number and that you meet all the requirements for that benefit or service except for the number." Sounds like a round-robin round of finger-pointing to me.
7. You see Richard? This is what you do between now and the P4.

9. If you have a divorce decree, and they can determine that she HAS left the country, I would think you're okay, unless someone decides to come after you for fraud (unlikely, unless they find evidence) If she left the country without claiming that you abused her, I don't think there's any opening there. The minimalist approach to immigration says to have all information ready, but don't show it unless asked. That is, don't do a thing, until you actually HEAR of any abuse allegation. Otherwise, you're the same as the rest of us - they want a divorce decree, and tax returns. If you don't know that she's left the country, yes, you may want an attorney. But if you have evidence that she has, keep it handy. and Welcome to Candle
10. Pleco Software also check Handango or any of the PDA software sites.
11. Go easy on her, Randy... 173053 Yeah - I've got the mop so well hidden that she'll probably find it before I do! Of course, the Japanese IME will work just fine in a pinch. The HanWang software is used in PlecoDict for the PalmPDA - the Yishen 888 has either the same or similar software - she loves both, and doesn't do Pinyin at all.
12. It doesn't always show up - only for certain types of input. Try notepad. and Thanks! Can't Wait! She'll be leaving Bejing (she's there with her mother and son) in about 5 hours!
13. There is one with Windows XP - install the Japanese IME. Then the IME Pad option also appears under the Chinese language. It seems to work well - it recognizes the exaggerated "2" as a box - which seems to be the way the Chinese write a script Box http://tinypic.com/i3cfa9.jpg¡¡¥í (there, just did it with mine)¡¢but the real test is coming soon!
14. Interesting. Please elaborate. 172944 dried date mystery

16. More of the same. I'm sorry to hear this, Jesse.

19. Jiaying may have told you that she'll be taking the train to Beijing with her son and mother, and flying (by herself) from there to Houston. Her two brothers are married, one still lives in Yulin. I'm sure she'll be spending a lot of time on the phone to China. Hopefully, her mother will be able to visit soon. Be sure and check into the Social Security before your parents come to the US - it is dependent on their employment history, which, of course, they have none in the US.
20. . . . and, hopefully, this entire topic will be required reading for Mr. USCONGUZ, and the offending VO.
21. This is an especially cruel story, but especially heartening that you were able to get the response you did. Excellent work.
22. Well, you're in the right place! Oh, I see! The "Immigrant Visa" link simply gets you to the "Contact Us" link. They say to wait until after your inrterview is scheduled, but will sometimes respond. I think that DOS (NVC) will actually assign your GUZ case number.
23. http://bergoiata.org/gif/Feu4.gif Congratulations !! http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif http://tinypic.com/erfmns.gif
24. You're doing the right thing. The GUZ says their email is only for interview-related questions now. Go to the GUZ website (to check up), click on "Immigrant Visas", and "ContactUs".
