  1. I had an ex coworker from China tell me after they catch a fairy they toss them in the river.
  2. Steve ... the key is the visit to the government office, registration of marriage, and the infamous "red book" ... that's what the governments of China and the US regard as marriage in China. Even at our "wedding" (engagement) dinner I gave a little speech about how I will take care of Lao Po and she did likewise. It's things like that that constitute what Tim is referring to as a symbolic wedding. As long as he doesn't register a marriage with the Chinese government he's OK. And any such photos must never be submitted as they will be used aginst you.
  3. Received Bio Appointment today, scheduled for 1/2/8.
  4. When you go to Harbin you may as well start counting heads and taking note of the better hotels. I think these days, girls like the wedding photos in the white dress.
  5. So why doesn't somebody who lives in an area with Asian Markets buy some for the guy? He can ship it to China in time for the Lunar New Year; it's more important than Xmas.
  6. From the Document: Parole into the United States is not guarenteed. In all cases, you are still subject to immigration inspection at a port-of-entry to determine whether you are eligible to come to the United States via terms of this document. Even if you heve previously been granted parole, the Department of Homeland Security retains the descrition to deny you parole if the Department determines approving your parole application would not serve the public interest of the United States. I have not heard of anybody being denied reentry, but this statement indicates they can do what they want. "Sure, you can have AP....we just won't let you return."
  7. Received NOA #1. Rec. Date 12/04/07 Case is not found online yet.
  8. Haven't seen the film but it is on our list of cities to visit.
  9. It's hard to find a case through Google. Looks like a job for TopLaw as he would know the best key words to use for a search. Is Jim worried about something.
  10. Here's something I came accross. http://www.ca6.uscourts.gov/opinions.pdf/07a0324p-06.pdf
  11. From what I saw on my last visit; there is a green movement in China. Let's see what happens in the next few years or so.
  12. Needless to say; this is a stressful process from start to finish.
  13. The original is required... After you tape it back together...the only thing that I would say... the dog did it! That may be good evidence to prove the marriage is valid. Good Luck
  14. You may want to contact this VT member: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/3cddd/ She has first hand knowledge of adoption.
  15. My wife made Ginseng and Black Chicken soup. Didn't like the taste but she said it was healthy. I had to say no to the Donkey skin.
  16. This evening my wife was watching a Taiwan variety show on TV that featured a male belly dancer. When I said the guy looks like a fruitcake; she asked: What is a fruitcake?
  17. Wife says rice must be washed three times before cooking. The water is saved to water the plants.
  18. That Rival cooker looks just like mine. Mine has a Chinese name.
  19. I did see a prison gang working on a street project at Black Dragon Village outside of Lijiang once. I did not see any uniformed officials supervising them. They wore black and white stripe uniforms.
  20. EAD Packet #3 began it's journey to the Chicago Lock Box via USPS Priority Mail today. I'll be sure to log the times for those who like to crunch numbers.
  21. That's a good sign as the bio is only good for six months. I'm getting tired of having my wife being treated as a convict out on parole. B)
