  1. I'm going to put some ribs on the barbi. And yes, today is a beer day.
  2. Checked the mail today. We got the GC (Ten Year). Today is a Happy Day. Our journey is over. Mission complete. Thanks to the CFL gang. Thanks to Carl (the wood guy) for putting up with my posts for the past two years. Best of luck to all.
  3. Just a side note. When we were at the InfoPass, the lady said we would have to do another set of finger prints before the GC could be issued. Wrong!
  4. After sleeping on it, I am wondering the same. It is possible CIS will say we are attempting to process as soon as possible, etc etc. Or they may just cave in and issue the card. I guess I won't know for 10 days or so. I think I am going to call the AUSA and see what he says. This decision is one of many recent losses for CIS with Districts expressing their impatience with Agency inaction. So they need to be very careful on how they respond. "The card is in the mail. If you don't receive it in 90 days, please call our 800 number".
  5. Today we received the famous "Welcome Letter". My wife stood in the kitchen and read it aloud. Still didn't pass muster; must have the GC. We can't be happy yet or it may give us bad luck. I think we may be happy around March 15.
  6. Does mean you are going to have her arrested?
  7. Congrats! Hopefully, we're next! Right now we will call it when we see it. Guess I'll spend the weekend sitting on the porch, drinking beer and waiting for the mail. I think I've been doing this since 2004.
  8. we are still waiting for the first letter they said they sent but I got this email today: *** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL *** The last processing action taken on your case Receipt Number: MSCXXXXXXXXXXX Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS Current Status: Approval notice sent. 9. Wife loves Chips & Salsa. Maybe we could open a Chips & Salsa store in China. That and a wool sock store also.
  10. Pete it is clear to me that you would make the perfect VO! Judging others with such malicious intent is right up their alley and by the statement you made to Larry, you fit the bill perfectly. Unfortunately he may have a point. I have been accused of being stoned my whole life yet, I do not even drink or smoke. Its just the way I look. I did not mean to offend. Myself and my brothers have the same problem. Older brother is asked "why are you sad" Younger brother was asked by high school teacher if he was high. I've been asked both. "are you paying attention" ect. "you look like you want to kill someone" "you're a hard looking dude" It's a family trait. Pete I understand what you are trying to say. Getting denied a visa and not being told why other than "no bona fide relationship" is very hard to swallow. Perhaps this is why I rushed to judgment. I apologize. When we did our i-29f I made sure I submitted the best "happy photos". It's the luck of the draw. And being a VO, government employee with no productive work value, able to do nothing and get paid for it, may be a good job to have. Maybe they just want to see if the guy fights for his woman or gives up. It's all scripted isn't it? It definitely is a game Pete. And yes there is a script. I guess if we don't play their game then we lose. That's government for ya. There is an end. Our trip is about four years old. Good Luck to All

  13. We got our letter today, but no questions. It says "Please come to the shown below at the time and place indicated in connection with an official matter" Date and Hour: Thursday, March 6, 2008 @ 9:00 AM ASK FOR: Officer Burnette REASON FOR APPT: Interview Bring with you: Your passport and identification So barely 7 days notice, and all it says is, "Please come" Hopefully, no more EAD applications! I guess that's Texas style. Let's hope it's not some kind of trap where they put the cuffs on her, shoot her up with dope and put her on a plane to China. Just kidding; sounds like a positive step.
  14. My wife doesn't want to tell anyone until she sees the card. I feel a bit of the same. I have a white board on my fridge documenting our timeline and hope to update it soon. The first entry was made four years ago. Just hoping there's something good to come out of the long wait - i.e., not having to remove conditions. My wife has had her payroll frozen twice because her EAD was about to expire. Just another thing that will go away. B)

  16. Based on you photos, you should think about changing you image. You look too much like a stoner. A guy just along for the ride. Remember who you are dealing with. Good Luck B)

  18. Q6. Make a no show Infopass. Somebody may dust off your file.
  19. Maybe an Infopass will let your field office know you are alive and trigger a response. I'm never going to know if the sending of the affidavit was related to that or just the new policy generated by "the memo". Maybe more will report in so we can see a trend and send the data off to David.
  20. Maybe you should talk to a Mod. Have the thread cut down to the Meat and Potatos and help someone else by getting it pinned.

  22. Sorry, but in my previous post "#4 in this thread" I stated that they SPECIFICALLY ask for "NOTARIZED ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS OF ALL SUBMITTED DOCUMENTS..." Someone in California can NOT Legally Notarize the translation of a document from someone who mails it to them from China! They MUST witness the original writer's signature on the original Chinese document. I WISH it would have been that easy... It was NOT. You need to make this a do-able task. GUZ does not ask the impossible - just that you do the best that you can. I don't see that they're asking that the signature be notarized - just the translation of the document. Why don't you do what they ask, and let them accept it or not? If you reject it yourself, she'll never get the visa. Keyword "Certified Translator". Maybe if they see you made the effort to get this done, it will pass muster.
