When my hub and I went to pick up our visa last month, we saw a woman there who claimed to pick up for her niece, but was having a hard time to get pass the post office clerk. The clerk said for something this important and confidencial, they insisted that the person should go there in person...

During one of the ACS I attended in the past, I asked what specific info does a VO interested to read in the letter. The reply to me was that they wanted more than just dates of your trips, but include info of what you did during that time, who was invloved, any friends and family gatherings, who paid the trip and how it enriched your relationship. So, I wrote my letter based on my 5 encounters with my hubby. I wrote a paragrahp for each trip. At the end, I inculded a paragraph about what my parents think of him and how welcome they are about my hubby coming to live with them until we have enough $$ to get our own house. Also, another paragraph of our future plan and our hope to have children. And of course at the very end, I kissed ass a little to thank the VO for reading and asked for his approval. According to my hubby, VO seriously read my whole 3 pages plus our other e-mails. If you want to see my letter you can PM me. I am in my office, but I forgot my USB flash drive today though...

I would not do that. It will just delay your background check. Of couse, you should if the name was legally used on your other legal docs.

While my hubby was in China last year (he is here now), we were so worried that I might accidentally get a baby during my visits to see him. Ever since after getting our P4, we have been trying to have a baby, yet nothing for us yet. We begin to think if it was becasue we over prevented this from happening at the beginning...

You will need a transit visa, without that, you cannot even get on the plane in China in the first place. The check in counter will look for that. To my understanding, you can apply for the transit visa, but the price may not worth it, since if you fly directly to US, it might be just $50 more compare to spending your $$ for transit visa. If you have a US Visa, Canada transit visa is pretty easy to obtain. The Candian Consulate in Beijing will not ask too many questions. You just fill out the applications then send it in, wait for a week to 10 days, you will have your passport w/ visa in the mail.

Two months of scary waiting and worrying is not easy, but wonderful news at the end!!! Congrats!! Enjoy this cheery moment!

I am in Seattle. My hubby just came in to US couple weeks ago. We are having problem getting driving permit or state ID as well. The DMV wants to see my hubby's prove of WA residency.

if u use t-mobile, when you send text msg to china, they cost the same as you would text anyone in the state. i used to text my hubby in china all the times. I got a phone from yesasia.com that were unlocked and able to text in chinese (both traditional and simplified characters)

Thanks guys. I just came back from the DMV office again. This time they say my marriage cert in Chinese (already translated and notarized in China) not acceptable. They want me to have my hubby's last name in order to even look at our docs. Geez... I am so tired and brain exhausted. This K-3 things suck. i should have listened and went for the CR1.
