  1. Congratulations... what a pretty lady you've got!! =)
  2. Does anyone know how much it is to change the 2 years gc to 10 years gc?
  3. hoping for a visa for your hus. Good luck!
  4. I just like to ask a question: In what ways, can you lawyer find out what is the exact reason GUZ denied you for? Is it something you can find out too and not through your lawyer? I am just thinking that no one is more anxious than you. I am just curious though, becasue I bet after denial, every minute spent on waiting for answer is like living in hell. Also, have you consider going through the CR-1 or K3 route?
  5. By the way, I would not send CDs with my applications, since I don't think they will open it and see the photos from there. We tried that at my hus's interview, the VO said they are afraid that our wedding vcd may contain virus. I just copied our photos on regular paper front and back, so each sheet can hold 6 photos (all descripted with person, date and place taken).
  6. As for getting personal Chinese letters notarized, I have experienced that some of the offices will not do it . The Notary Office in China in your wife's city might not do that, but if your wife ask them to translate them into English and notarize the translation, they will do it. My husband's relatives wrote letters about our relationship too, but the Notary Oiffce that will not do it until we ask them to translate them then notarize their offical translation. Try it...
  7. Brokenheart, I remember you very well, because we applied for CR-1 around the same time. I have been thinking how come you didn't post what happened after that... If you look at my timeline, I got NOA1 in January then NOA2 in May 2008 for both CR-1 and K3 the same day. Can you call USCIS or get an Infopass appointment?
  8. I don't believe that it was Peter's fee that the office was asking for, because I believe Peter already left at that time. I was there 11/2007, 03/2008, 07/2008 and 09/2008. The office asked me to pay $40,000.00 RMB (about $5,800.00 US). I think they are crazy, because they said after I pay them, the staff will make sure that my husband will pass his interview and that GUZ will process my husband's paperwork more speedy, since they will make our paperwork perfectly they way GUZ wanted to see... At times I went to their office (My husband already came into US in 09/2008), my hus and I were very worried, because he had some filing problems with his pervious marriage's divorce paper. Also, my hus was denied for business and traveling to US many times in the past, so we just wanted to hear some advices.
  9. I went in personally to that firm 4 times myself in GUZ and for the 4 times, the staffs said Peter is on a trip, but will return few weeks later and insist that I go over my case with someone else in their office. They claim that they will forward my case to Peter once he gets back. I DIDN'T BELIEVE THEM AT ALL! They said that Peter will instruct the employees what to do with my case and the staff will e-mail me...so I question that who would I know if Peter is really the one handling it? They said they are trustworthy. I asked for Peter's e-mail address, then they told me that his whole e-mailing system crashed. I asked for his phone number and voice mail, they said it has not been set up. I asked he left on vacation without vm?? My husband and I just left, because they wanted me to pay right away.
  10. I am sorry to hear your news. I think even if you re-apply again, you need to be watchful that GUZ will deny you for the same reason...since they did for two times already. You need to be very very well prepare for the next round. If GUZ thinks your relationship is not real, then you might want to work on that to prove them wrong. My co-worker who got 1st time white from GUZ, 2nd time w/ white too then third time blue for 3 months then finally pink and came into US few months ago. Nothing is impossible. I read in another post that one of our CFL member, chilton, got PINK finally after denial too. Good luck to you!
  11. I wrote about 3 pages and stapled an actual timeline together with it. got it notarized at GUZ two days before the acutal interview.
  12. Wow, great news!! I've heard that female VO is particularly hard too...but since you went prepared and answered her questions very well. YOU DESERVE THE PINK!! =) Cheers for you!
  13. From other posts I read in BBS, when GUZ called, usually it is a block #. I nor my husband ever got phone calls from GUZ. I could be wrong, since I never had that exp.
  14. No matter which date the interview be on, just best wishes to you and your wife!
  15. I wish you all the best and all the luck. Since I came onto CFL, I've read stories about your visa process. I wish everything will go well for you this time. Please come and bring us your happy news!! =)
  16. What a happy day for you two!! Cheers! =)
  17. Hi, My husband had just arrived in US a month ago on K3. We had some problems of getting driving permit, but all worked out okay for now and his test is scheduled this Friday. I just have my fingers crossed now, becasue w/out SSN or GC, we might get turn away on Friday... We are in WA. As for bank accounts... I had Bank of America for years and when my husband came, I just added his name to my account and had no problem with them. We did this with only his Chinese Passport, I-94 and valid US Visa. Two days ago, we got the first bank statment with both of our names on it. Prehaps, you can look into having joint account with Bank of America. I don't know if it was easier for me, becasue I already had existing account. As for health insurance, I will be adding my husband to my health plan at work with Regance. Regence wanted to see a copy of our Chinese Marriage Booklet translated by DSHS certified translator and notarized. We got that taken care of and costed us nearly $80 USD in WA. On top of this, again... Chinese Passport (this time my husband also provided his photo WA driving permit---no an acutal ID yet), and his valid US Visa and I-94. Regence replied that everything looks fine. My husband s/be getting covered 01/01/2009. As for filing tax jointing, we went down to IRS and got him a ITIN. The officer there took a look at the acutal Chinese Passport, took our application and did some computer typing and said a # s/be mail to us in 3 weeks. We didn't apply for EAD yet, since we will be moving out of WA soon and wants to do AOS elsewhere and wait for 10 yrs GC at the same time. I don't think I can rest my mind until my husband gets his GC. This immigration thing is a big headache to us.
  18. jimi, i am so sorry to hear what you and your wife are going through now. it is so sad and heartbreaking to read her post. i personally think her english is not all that bad, but maybe some grammatical problems. i had said this in my other posts, but i will say it again to you. if you have the opportunity, go to ACH and have your very well written EOR notarized there. when i get my notarized for my hubby's interview, the VO asked for our K3 and CR1 GUZ # and typed in the computer that I was there. VO left with my passport and letter for 5 mins and returned with the orignally returned back to me and an extra copy that the VO said will keep in my hubby's file. since my hubby's english is not fluent, so my letter helped explain our relationship timeline. jimi, keep us posted. Good luck with CR1.
  19. Your SO sure fooled with saying it was a blue... hahahaa.... Congratulations to both of you and wish you two a happy life together in US!! =)
  20. You need multi entries visa to China. As for HK, you can go in and out as many times as you like, since you don't need visa for HK. In case you are in HK and don't have any Chinese Visas to get back into China, you can always find a Chinese tour agency to apply for a same day "urgent visa". It will be VERY expensive.
  21. Wonderful news!! Congrats!!
  22. Mike, Thank you so much for sharing. It sounded like you and Jin had started a wonderful life in the Big Island already. I've been to Hawaii a couple of times myself, I love there. I love the people, the view, the beaches, the foods....you name them all. Tell Jin to enjoy! =) Congrats and best wishes!
