Anyone know if USCIS can re-print a I-485's P-1? I only have a scan copy saved on my computer, but I cannot fine the acutal one. I am needed it for my EAD renewal. I know I only need to send it a copy for proof of application, but shouldn't I be better to have the original one? Thanks.

I have not come back to CFL for months and I am sorry about that. My SO and I have been very upset and worry. To make the long story short... My SO came into US on a K-3 and we filed AOS a year later when we met our 2 yrs marriage hoping to get the 10 yrs green card. We went to interview in NY in Feb 2010 and was told that USCIS believe that our case is a little fishy and told us to go home and wait for a letter from USCIS. Since then, we heard nothing. Everytime I called the 1-800s, they said the case is with the service center pending on more review, and we got the same answer from INFO Pass as well. My SO's EAD will be expiring in a few weeks, I was wondering if anyone ever gone through the renewal? I read the instructions online, but I am not very clear. Since the case is still pending, my SO s/be able to review his EAD, correct? Also, we need to pay another $340 for it and CANNOT e-file it, correct? Anyone know how long it might take??? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

My husband will have his green card interiew at New York's Garden City tomorrow. We are just getting our last minute documents put together and practicing some English. Guys, wish us luck. P.S. I remember back when my hus had his K-3 interview at GUZ, the officer asked him how much he loves me. My hus said, "no much." Officer was puzzled and asked more questions about our relationship. Later on, my hus said no much means his love for me is soooooooo much that the word "much" cannot describe it. I taught him next time just say unconditional instead. I hope he remembers this word tomorrow. LOL

I just got a call from a live person from USCIS. The person asked for me, not my husband (the applicant for AOS). The person asked if we will be going to the AOS interview next month and I said yes, then he hung up. I asked the purpose of his call, but he didn't say. He called my cellular phone, so I got his number on my caller id. I tried calling back with another phone (which I blocked the #), and it connected directly to that person again. Strange to me.

Thanks for the reply. The letter didn't say. So, the requirment stating if exam done within a year is good for K-3, they meant at the time of applying for AOS or at the time of interview?

My hus finally got a new notice for his green card interview. We were originally scheduled in late September 2009, but I was in my 36th week of pregnancy, so I couldn't board commerical airplane to fly back home for the interview, so we sent a letter to rescheudle. Yesterday, we finally go another date. It is set for next month. Along with the interview letter stating a time and date and address, they sent an additional letter to us. The letter allow us to state whether or not we can keep this new date or if we have more reasons to not go this time. I wasn't given this option last time though. When we first applied I-485, my hus's medical exam was still good. Now that his orginally exam done in China is now past a year (from August 2008), does he need a new one done for the interview? When we submitted I-485, it was in June 2009, so it was still good.

My co-worker, JJ, whoes wife just had her interivew in Manilia just got a blue slip yesterday. The VO do not believe there marriage is real and put their case on additional review. I know JJ and his wife love each other so much. JJ came to US through family based petition years ago then he went bk to Manilia the following year to marry his high school sweetheart. He didn't file for petition until last year when he becasme US Citizen. The VO kept asking JJ's wife if they love each other so much, they waited this long to file?? Why not filed first as GC holder and upgrade to USC line when JJ got his citizenship. VO said though JJ visited Manilia every year and have tons of photos and air tickets showing them together (with joint assests), their marriage is doesn't look right. Anyone know how long this type of review will take. His wife said she didn't get denial, only more reviews. At the end of the interview, his wife was given a slip saying their marriage is not bona fide. To me, isn't that like a "WHITE" slip ppl get at GUZ? Anyone know if the review usually comes negative? JJ is the only man I ever see can cry like a waterfall. I am sad for him too. They have waited for this interview date for so long.

I just asked my friend who has GC w/ Chinese Passport now. Early this year, he flew to China on Korean Air (overnight in Seoul due to flight connection), he went to the custom fine. he said he showed the GC and his ticket for the next day and went directly down to 1st floor Air Korea's counter where there will be at least 50 other people waiting for shuttle bus to hotel. I have done it before too, but of course i have no problem since i am a USC. If you are thinking to use Korean Air, make sure you call and confirm hotel with them, or don't be suprised at Incheon that they didn't hold a room for you. If you want to go through HKG, no visa is needed, just your US air ticket. My husband (K-3) came in to WA from HKG last year.

Today, I went with my hus to our Info Pass appointment to change his AOS interview date at the Seattle local office. We got to speak with a very nice officer who helped us to send an e-mail over to the NY office (where our interview s/ take place). The officer took down our phone # and wrote us a little note w/ his signature stating we were there for inquiries. Though, we are now waiting for NY's reply, but we felt better that we have done everything we could, including opening a case w/ the USICS rep through their 1-800 #, sent NY office a request letter w/ dr note, went to Info Pass appt and explained our situation w/ the officer face to face. The office in Seattle told us that normally to reschedule an AOS appt is possible during Info, if the reason is acceptable. He said, usually he would look up their appt time and just place the applicant to the next available one. A print out will usually be given on that day w/ an actual notice in the mail later. Since our case involves with the NY office, Seattle can only help us sent an-mail to them to follow up on rescheduling a new date for us. Though, we don't know how efficient the NY office is, at least we have a proof in hand that an e-mail request was sent from the Seattle office. When I hear from INS, I will post the update.

Sorry, not sure if I s/ post here, because it is just a general question. I would like to know if Info Pass appt must take place at my own city or can I go to another city's if I happen to be in there area. I know the appt needs to be pre-schedule. Will the Info Pass officers only serve those who live in that area? I assume their computer is all connected to the same network/system national wide.

Thanks for the above responses... I looked at the interview letter, it says that if my hus can't make it to the appt due to health emergency, we can call USCIS... well, I just called. I spoke with an officer who said will change my apt and gave me a confirmation # to track it. I am not sure if this is good, but if we don't hear anything... I will make an Info Pass appt.

Hi, I just received my husband's AOS appointment letter scheduled a week before due date. Per my OB doctor, I should not travel or take commerical airplane after my 36th week. Our situation is like this: I originally live in Seattle, but moved to NY shortly after my hus arrived in US for jobs, but we employment didn't work out, so we moved back to Seattle. We changed our address (via AR-11) and applied EAD & AOS w/ USCIS using NYC address, becasue if the jobs call us again, we will move to NYC. Though we are in Seattle now, we flew to NYC for AOS bio appt 2mons ago. I know if I reschedule the appointment, there will be some serious problems as it may lead to a denial. My question is if I just let my hus go to the AOS interview by himself and bring a letter from my doctor stating my pregnancy and perhaps some of my previous ultra-sound reports and photos showing my pregnancy, will there be a chance that my hus will be denied for this AOS. I am hoping the VO might just reschedule during the interview, at least it won't be like fail to appear and resulted in denial right away. I am thinking to send my hus to AOS interview w/ above evidence and perhaps a statement from airline not recommandnig to board the aircraft. I have read a CFL memeber (joannaliu's) post regarding her rescheduling her AOS appt due to her hus is in law school and had no problem. I am not sure if I can be as lucky, since each case is different. Anyone has in inputs? Thanks...

Thank you for your reply, Shutterbug. I'm working on putting together all the evidences we have to show strong family tie for my in-laws in China. As for the coding issues in this Chinese Forum, I guess, it will continue to be like this, right?
