  1. When my hus came to US with K-3 last year, we just went to Bank of America, where I already had saving and checking accounts opened for years, and requested them to add my hus on there too and had no problem. My hus didn't have SSN til months after that. I think until now, Bank of America still doesn't have a record of my husband's SSN #.
  2. I remember when my brother and sister registered in middle and high school years ago when we first moved to US, they showed their report cards from HK that states what classes were taken then some of the credits were able to be counted in US during their high schoool years. Since the classes were counted, they didn't have to fall back one year, but I think that was becasue the school registeration lady was able understand the report since it was written in both English and Chinese.
  3. Such a sad story, but very typical for Chinese women to find out about their husband's affair while living alone in US. I feel sorry for her and the children.
  4. good to know. i know usics's chicago lockbox already recevied by AOS packet now per usps.com, but check has not cashed. i am guessing next week then hopefully P-1 will follow the week after. i had front loaded them with a lot of documents, photos and a cover letter, so hopfully no REF too.
  5. If your in-laws are still working now, they might want to include docs that show they have enough $$ to support their visit to US and their time here, otherwise you might want to include in your invitation that you will pay for their tickets, their living expenses and for the trips they will make while visiting you and your wife. I am going to bring my hus's parents from China to US for a visit at the end of this year. They will be going to the Shengyang branch US Consulate. They had a tourist denial about 8 years ago, so hopefully with our situation changed and more Chinese citizen can acutally afford to travel and returning back to China afterward, I hope touist visa will be grant to them this time.
  6. Hi, Tom Wow, good to know your check got cashed. So, your P-1 and Bio Appt Letter s/be on its way... HOORAY... I hope mine will be cashed next week! =)
  7. If you are still in Seattle and thinking to go to GZ then... When I got round trip ticket from Seattle to Guangzhou, I usually buy from AA Travel in Seattle Chinatown. It is right below from Fort St George Restaurant. Their price is fair. Last July and Sept, I paid about $800 and $850 for Hainan Airlines in July and Korean Air in September. I heard recently there is another travel agency opened in the Key Bank building in Chinatown. Their price is about $5 to $10 cheaper than AA, but I haven't had the chance to buy from them. If you are already in China, sorry... I don't know any websites.
  8. i have heard of denial of entry back to US when you failed to go to your interview, becasue they will see that as you saying you want to quit applying for your green card. i think it is better if she keeps her assigned interview date.
  9. Good news! Congrats. My hus and I are keeping our fingers crossed. We just mailed out the AOS application this afternoon.
  10. I'm a USC too, but I probably won't list mine on my husband's AOS, since I already forgot what my A # was prior to becoming an USC.
  11. Congrats on your green card. I hope my hus will get his soon too and everything will go well.
  12. My husband and I just came back from a cruise vacation that basically sailed to the sea in Mexico but made not port stop other then at an US island in California. When we checked in at the cruise dock, the cruise officers told us that holding K-3 Visa is not allowd on board. The cruise ppl told us that though the cruise makes no stops internationally, but it does sail out to the water outside of US area, so it is consideded needing a US visa coming back. I thought it was fine, since my hus's K-3 doesn't expire til next year, but the cruise ppl said he cannot travel, since K-3 is not a tourist visa and his main purupose is not to travel in US. I thought their reason to deny my hus is so weird. So, if a foreign student has a F visa, he cannot have fun in Disneyland during spring break or some fun in Hawaii? So weird...anyways, we got onto the ship after an hour of reasoning with them and after they contacted INS phone calls after phone calls. When we got off the ship, my hus still needed to go through INS Custom as he left US and coming to US ground. Since when at his 1st POE in US last year, INS didn't ask for his fingerprint and let us through, we were asked to go into a little room where we were questioned why the proper procedure wasn't done back then. We just said we weren't asked for it. Then, INS took my hus fingerprints and warned us that next time we need to remind the officers if procedure were done. Again...so weird, since isn't this suppose to be their job? Anyways, though INS officer wasn't too rude, we were questioned why we don't file for AOS and weren't too convinced that our marriage is true. I explained about our 2 yrs will be coming up this fall, so we want to get the 10 yrs gc. If I know traveling on K-3 is so trouble, I would just stay home with my hus. sigh...
  13. Congrats on your smooth interview. Also, thanks for your PM, I will take your advice. Same as samsong above, do you mind to tell us more about what is that seal card your got? Is it a temp until you get your green card in the mail? What does it call?
  14. I am sorry about your denial. Well, what ever done is done. Life must go on. Are you considering marrying your SO and go for the CR-1 / K-3 routes? Don't lose your hope. We have few other members here who got PINK the 2nd time around. Good luck!
  15. I just got into my office this morning. So happy to see your wife got PINK. I feel like I am sharing your joy too. Congrats!! =)
  16. I know his wife's interview is on 5/21 in China. Anyone heard from him yet? I'm praying for PINK for this couple! Best wishes to them!
  17. Great news, cheers for you!
  18. I believe the Asian woman speaks Shanghaiese as well, because I got her at my ACH. She speaks fluent Mandarin.
  19. Wonderful news! =) Congrats!
  20. Wow, is your wife riding on a rocket? USCIS accepted your application in April then interview in June already? Wow, that's fast. Good luck! So, like we said before, interview is needed in your case. Thank you for your update.
  21. For the two times I were at ACH, I wasn't given much time, since I was among the first few people to be called and considering still at least 30 more after me, they had to rush me. The 1st time, I didn't have GUZ # yet, but since I was in China, I went anyways holding my CR-1's P1. The white male VO was nice, he signed and dated the question form, so that I can turn it in to the officer then if I decided to go back when GUZ# in hand. I was given about 4 mins. The 2nd time, I got the Chinese female VO, she was a little rude and talked very fast. I told her the concerns my hus and I have regarding pervious denials. She heard me, but I don't think she listened. She just said ok without typing anything in the computer or looking at my documents and just let me go. She called the next #. I told her I wasn't done talking, but she said she got my point. I asked if she can at least take that the paper I got from my 1st time ACH and put in my hus's file, she refused. I then insisted her to record my attendance for that day but she showed no response and continued calling for the next #. My 2nd time was less then 4 mins. It was too quick. I got discouraged. I then went over to the ACS side and requested if they can put that piece of paper from my 1st time ACH into my hus's file, the officer was happy to do it for me and then asked for our both of our CR-1 & K-3 GUZ # to make a record of it that I was there. GOT SATISFIED! I think if you go to ACH, try to stay at the counter as long as you can and asked all your questins. Don't let them get rid of you too fast.
  22. Best wishes to all of you. Keep us posted on your PINK! =)
  23. Great, keep us posted. Looking foreward to hear your good news!! BEST OF LUCK! =)
