We are studying the questions in the booklet. Soon we will work on the writing and reading. What other questions can she expect during the interview?

Since her biometrics, she had been at it everyday while the kids were in school. Then I would quiz her before I would hit the bed. After a month, she was getting a little punchy. So I told her to let it rest for a week, then we would start again, this time with writing and reading. She needed the rest.

Biometrics was done on September 12 and we received the interview letter on October 17, so just a little over a month.

We received the interview appointment letter yesterday. The date is set for December 8. I think she is just about ready, but she is very nervous now.

My wife has been hitting the study manual every day. She also listens to the CD and reviews the flash cards. Each night, I go over the study questions and she can answer just about everyone of them. Her pronunciation is getting better too. Lately we have started to have her write sentences that I read to her. This is proving to be a little harder for her. She can read them pretty good, but listening and then writing them is hard for her.

When our son's visa was denied, it was because we did not send enough evidence of our relationship. It was a blue slip. My wife had gotten her visa a year before and I did not think that we needed to prove our relationship again. I learned my lesson and he got his visa.

My wife's GF was asked to read "I want to be a citizen." She cannot remember what she wrote. She said the Officer seemed to be in a hurry to get to the next interview. Only asked her 10 questions.

Just wanted to add this little tid-bit: My wife's GF in Virginia Beach, just passed her interview, today. Was asked 10 questions, had to write one sentence and read one too. Says the ceremony is next week. Here biometrics appt was towards the end of June.

I seem to remember my wife having to pay a fee once inside the consulate for the interview. We were CR-1 and this was back in 2005. I don't know if the fee is still applicable.

The issue was not the computers or the internet connection, and we didn't drop any calls. The issue was that the during a call, the volume would swing between high and low. I talked to my sister and had to ask her about 8 times to repeat what she said. It was like she was talking to me through a pillow. Then it would clear, then back again. Having to have a computer running all the time for phone service was just a nuisance. But would have been acceptable had the reception been better.

Yes have a very good cable modem with connection to 5mbs. I am now thinking of the italkbb. Since that does not go through the computer, correct? From what I saw, it connects to my router.

All the mattresses made in America were too soft for my wife. Even the XXX-firm ones. Since here arrival here in 2005 we have gone through 2 sets. Finally settled on a platform bed with a 4" 100% cotton mattress. This was great. Just bought another platform bed with a 6" cotton mattress for our son. Maybe the daughter will convert next.

To avoid any of these problems, my wife and I talked about it and decided she should keep her Chinese name. Changing the name does not change our relationship. Have heard some not having problems, have heard of some having problems. As C4Racer said, you can change it on the N-400 if you want. We have gone this long and have the house, some bills and the bank accounts in her Chinese name, so we are not changing it.

Our bank here only needed the SSN. Had no other problems.

Well I went to the Magic Jack website, and tried their trial offer. After almost 3 weeks, I am sending it back. Here is my reasons: 1) Could not hear the caller well. Volume kept going up and down. 2) Have to keep a computer running, with the internet open. Knew this before I ordered. It is good idea, but just did not work in our home. Liked the idea of $19.95 a year for phone, vise $65.

It sounds more like they filed the I-751, Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence, where the fees are $465 + 80 for biometrics. That would be $545. That also requires biometrics.

Thanks LENJIA. I will tell my wife. I know that she will study and I will help her, when I am not tutoring the children. Her GF in Virginia Beach called her today. Her biometrics appt. was in June and she just got word that her interview for citizenship is at the end of this month. That's 3 months from bio to interview.
