  1. Send me an email with your email address, and I'll send it to you.
  2. I don't understand that. I thought that everyone got a N-659 Naturalization Interview Document check list. Even the appointment letter tells of documents to bring. The N-659 just elaborates a little more. Maybe they forgot to put it in the envelope. I would be careful. I can scan the N-659 and send it to you, just to be on the safe side, if you want.
  3. Sounds like you have enough. I wouldn't be too worried. Maybe before the citizenship, you may want to get a State ID Card.
  4. I Hope so, it is easier to renew in China. Washington DC is a nightmare.
  5. Yep, Chinese passport. If she goes to China in, say, June, and her passport expires in July, will that be OK? Or should I be looking at a trip or 2 to DC?
  6. My daughter's passport is Chinese. So she doesn't need a visa yet. The question is about her passport.
  7. I checked these guys out and you have to be under the age of 12 or over the age of 65. If you do not meet these age requirements, they will not help you. What a drag. I hate driving to DC. The embassy website has the instructions, but only in Chinese. That helps me out, NOT!
  8. I have a different passport question. My family may be traveling back to China this summer. My daughter's passport expires July 6, 2009. Can she travel if she travels prior to this date? My wife is thinking of renewal in China.
  9. We also brought copies and originals, but they only looked at the taxes and the bills. Make sure you bring current bills with both names.
  10. They will not be able to file the I-485 because they are only here on a tourist visa. The 485 is for adjustment of status for an immigrant.
  11. That is great news. I thought the worst, but now am happy for you. I would send a copy of the appointment notice, but have it notarized as a true copy. That way there is no way it can be disputed.
  12. I don't know how an attorney can claim to "specialize" in China, but I hope he will do you good. Look over everything that he does and all the paperwork. If you have questions, you could post them here and let the "non-attorneys" give you the good answers. The Chinese government doesn't care about who leaves, it is the American government that is selective. I married my wife and filed both the 129F and the 130. Back in the old days, it was a race to see which one got there first. Luckly, the 130 was our ticket. My wife came on the CR-1 train and didn't need to file the AOS. Our 129F appeared to get there about 2 months later (slower boat I think).
  13. While the K3 appears to be faster, the CR1 has less headaches later. The CR1 will not have to adjust status later, which is about $1000. Ours ended up being CR1 and now looking back, we are very happy it did.
  14. I agree also. I have not heard of that either, fingerprinting the petioner. Terrible timing though. Although this probably has something to do with the denial:
  15. There should be no fees once she arrives. I have never heard of any nor has my family ever paid any.
  16. I have Vista on two computers and XP on the other two. I am used to XP and love it, but have vista on my new computer and I am learning it. It does over due the protection stuff, but is improving. As of this moment, I would say that XP is best, but Vista is gaining.
  17. We filed through Vermont, and had interview in Norfolk, VA. Ours was 4 months from filing to interview. Almost to the day. Bring current bills to the interview.
  18. But you can file up to 90 days before this 3 year anniversary date. So you could file as early as April 2009.
  19. I would add additional sheets referencing the section. Worst case I would hand write it.
  20. The ticket will have to be in her name and match her passport, or they will not let her board. Most airlines will allow you to purchase and she can pick it up.
  21. Don't worry about that. My wife was gone for 83 days last summer and they only asked about the 9 day trip 2.5 years ago.
  22. When we received the N-659 Naturalization Document Checklist, there was one item that we were not quite sure what they wanted. Under section 3, the 5th bullet, there is a statement about "Proof of marital union as well as proof of residence". I put in papers of the house and bank that had both names and address. What they wanted was this and current bills. The current bills was the thing I did not put in. But the house papers and bank statement must have been enough.
  23. At my wife's citizenship interview, they were not so interested in the 3 visits that were 2-3 months long as the one that was only 9 days long.
  24. The removal of conditions (I-751) is required to get the 10 yr GC. That is if you have a conditional residency card in your posession (CR-1). You can look at our timeline and see about how long it took for the I-751 to process, ours was about 6 months. Our son came here IR-1 so did not need to remove conditions.
