  1. I wouldn't worry about the bank statements if you are using income to satisfy the 125% requirement. I did have an employment verification letter, but like others have said, GZ didn't even bother to look at my I-134.
  2. My lawyer strongly advised against submitting any pictures related to our ceremonial wedding. Having no faith in the process, she said it might confuse the processor. I also advise against submitting either the pictures or the video.
  3. The next six weeks will fly by as you try to remember to do all the things that you've been putting off. Time to get moving. Good luck at the interview.
  4. I believe I sent in maybe 3 or 4, with at least one showing me with the family. I was advised against sending in any pictures from our ceremonial wedding for fear that it might confuse the folks at the service center since we were K-1.
  5. Congrats. Seems like you've touched about every bureaucracy in the federal government. Glad that's over.
  6. Good to see you back on the site francine. I'd be inclined to keep the card but still file for removal of conditions as MikeXiao suggested.
  7. Sounds like a mistake on GZ's part. Take a look at the letter that was supposed to come with the packet. If that letter gives you an appointment date, chances are that GZ intended this to be the P4 (second packet of forms), but I doubt that GZ is doing away with the P3 forms.
  8. Good luck and keep the faith.
  9. As others have said, the time to get an EAD varies from place to place. Temporary 90 day EADs aren't worth it - just go ahead and apply for the EAD with the AOS. Oh, and one other thing - unless your fiancee plans on working underground, the EAD is a real document, along with the SS card. She will need both to work legitimately in the US, at least initially, until she become a legal permanent resident.
  10. It'll be downhill. Enjoy your stay and let us know when she gets the visa.
  11. See what happens when you have a baby - you get older. That'll teach you. Happy Birthday.
  12. That light you see at the end of the tunnel comes from your wife's smile. It's getting closer by the day.
  13. Wonderful news. Best wishes for a wonderful life together.
  14. Take a look at http://home.comcast.net/~donahso/P4index.htm. I guess OF (Optional Form) 156 may have been replaced by DS (Department of State) 156.
  15. Never pass up an opportunity to keep in contact with the consulate. I'm with Jim on this. It can't hurt.
  16. In typical Catch-22 fashion, a K-1er in the South technically can file under Category (a)(6) before the AOS is filed, but the EAD is only good for 90 days, which is about as long as it takes to process the EAD. Don't waste your time in trying to get an EAD in the South before you file for AOS.
  17. I also completed the forms for Jingwen's kids (K-2).
  18. Wonderful news Bruce. May you and Ying be blessed in the years to come.
  19. This is way outside my knowledge base, but I thought that a legal permanent resident can petition on behalf of an unmarried son or daughter over the age of 21, using the I-130. If this is correct, maybe your wife can file the I-130 after she becomes an LPR, provided her son is not married.
  20. For what it's worth, I showed my then fiancee's name, etc. on question 10.
  21. The OS-1858 is an old form that used to be executed in conjunction with the affidavit of support for an immigrant visa and dealt with a written acknowledgement that the sponser's income, etc. would be used in determining eligibility for certain benefits under the Social Security and Food Stamp Acts. I don't know if the form is still in use, but GZ doesn't require it in conjunction with the I-134. Also, since the K-1 is a non immigrant visa, I doubt that the form would even apply if it was still in use. Here's a link to the form: http://www.exit.com/~frank/Visa/2ndform.pdf
  22. I requested transcripts well in advance of the interview date - got them about 3 weeks after the interview. I used my file copies of the returns with a notarized statement from me that the copies were exact copies of the originals. The VO didn't bother to look at them.
