  1. It seems the I-751 application submitted may. 08 has already been processed. As member Eseum mentioned in his post earlier that their case was transferred from TX to Vt and was submitted in May.08, they already got their 10 years Green card. How can mine is still pending being that it was submitted in March.08 at the same Center??? I thought they process these petitions by the dates they received them. I also made a call to USCIS, the guy gave me a reference number and said he put a special note on the case so some would look into as soon as possible. Today i got this letter: "On 3/15/09 you contacted us about your case shown below, your case is currently under review and your should receive a decision or other action within 60 days of the date of this letter." what does this mean? are they actually processing my case now? has anybody gotten a letter like this after you called USCIS? I hope it is not a bad sign.....thanks
  2. thanks alot for all of your helpful infor. We are traveling to China this summer in July. Do you guys recommend that we wait and file the N-400 after we get back? what if we file it now and the interview is scheduled while we are outside of the States? Can we reschedule it? that probably will delay the process... we are just very frustrated right now, it has been 1 year as of last Friday and the I-751 is still pending. we called numerous times and the customer service guy could not tell us anything as to when the case would be processed.(our case is at the Vermont center) He did give us a reference number saying that he has made notes on the case and someone would look into it as soon as possible. We are supposed to get the I-551 stamp on the Chinese passport for travel purposes in July. But we heard stories where people have had hard time existing China because the stamp was not recognized. We just cant wait till when this is all over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Should we worry about traveling with the I-551 stamp????
  3. How long does the citizenship process typically take from submitting the application to getting the certificate? I heard it was 6 months but it seems too good to be true, most applications take at least twice as long...
  4. I filed my ten years green card 3/23, 2008. it is already3/20, 2009 and they still say that my case has not been processed yet. They told me to get a stamp on the passport and it will allow me to travel back to china without a problem. But i heard stories of people being held back in the china side because the Chinese did not recognize the stamp. So,, is it safe to travel with the Stamp on my passport? Has anyone done it before? Is it also normal to take more than a year to process I-751?( Mine is at the Vermont center) The processing dates on the USCIS website says April 20th, 2008, but my case was submitted 3/23, 2008. How can they still say it has not been processed? Any inputs will be helpful!
  5. hello, we sent off our I-751 application and confirmed online that it was received 3-07, here it is 3-17 and the check still has not been cleared. I wonder if i should call them to make sure they got the package. Or should I wait a little longer?
  6. hi, i am getting ready to file I-751 to remove the conditional green card. I was pregnant when we first filed the 2 years conditional green card so the form I-639 A for immunization was waved. Someone said something about i still needed to have my shots after the baby but UICIS did not notify anything concerning that matter. Do I need to file I-693 with my I-751. I am not so sure......... any other question is....a lady told me she was stuck in the airport in china on her way back to the US because the chinese did not accept her I-551 stamp as a proof of legal status. Has this happen to anyone else? I am traveling this summer with an expired green card and the notice of action letter I-797. will there be a problem? I mean, if they dont accept the stamp, why would they accept an expired GC and a letter?!?!?!?
  7. Hey Mike, thanks for the infor, it is really helpful. Did you guys send your petition to the Vermont center? I call USCIS and they told me the the wait now is 10 months.
  8. Hey guys, I have not been on this site FOREVER. I am a little behind the loop...anyway. we are getting ready to file for the petition to remove conditional status. little confused.... the thing is the 2 year green card expires in June and we need to travel to China in July, doubt the new card will arrive before that. Can we file now before the 90 days window or do we need to wait until we are in the 90 days window? also, i read somewhere that as soon as they receive the completed application package, they will send a notice of action NOA, which will say that the conditional status will be extended one year. am I correct? So I guess this NOA will be considered an evidence of legal staus then? Can we travel with this paper along with the expired green card or do we need to make an infor pass to the local USCIS office to get a I-551 stamp on the passport? Any comments would be helpful.
  9. It is funny how life can be so ironic sometimes..... after calling dozen of civil surgoens, with their high $ charges we almost gave up our hopes and was ready to just go with it. The civil surgeon list on the USCIS website is useless as every single one of them seems to be such an rip-off. We did a search in google just for the fun of it and found couple other civil surgeons that were NOT listed on the USCIS website. We called the first person on the list we found and scheduled an appointment, only $30 dollars would be needed to sign off the form. Well, the funny part was...we went to the doctor's office thinking we just needed to get the form signed because my wife had all the required shots and we brought a record with us. Everything seemed to be fine and he was ready to sign it for it, he paused for a second and said she needed one more shot. So we said ok whatever, just get it done. We did not know a pregnancy test was required before getting any shots, well, okay we did it and it was POSITIVE. Our brains just went blank for senconds and did not know how to react. my wife just said to the doctor," so you are telling us that I AM HAVING A BABY?!?!?!" Now comes another challege - INSURANCE. we need advices. Most insurances companies do not cover pre-existing conditions and I won't forgive myself if there anything happens to my wife and she does not have coverage. Please help!
  10. hey we called this place yesterday and was told that they no longer have a civil surgeon?!?!?! the lady would not let us talk to the doctor and set appointment for 3 weeks later. This is the last document we need to file AOS and it is getting very frustrating! We dont want to wait for 3 weeks, any advices?
  11. Hi everyone, We just finished calling couple civil curgeons, one was not sure if they could do it, one wanted to charge us $750 or more. we live in Suffolk, VA. I've read posts from some memebers from Norfolk, VA. can you guys recommend some civil curgeons?
  12. is it possible to obtain a driver's license prior to recieving the I-485 approval? Thanks
  13. can somebody tell me what this is? I-639, Medical Examination of Amiens Seeking Adjustment of Status(if you already hae this from your overseas visa interview submit a copy that medical check form.no fee is required in this case) I wife had already have a medical examination before the interview, does it mean we dont need this I-693 form?
  14. hi everyone, I just arrived the US a week ago, everything has been great and i met with the family. People are extremely loving and kind. My fiance and I stoped by the SSN office 3 days ago and filled out a form, she told us to wait 2-3 weeks and will contact us after the paper is being processed. Does this mean we will get our SSN in 2 to 3 weeks? We also wonder how to go about getting a driver's license and green card? where do we file the I-485? We are having our wedding in Dec 24th, the expiration date on the I-94 is January 23rd. should we have our wedding earlier so we can get the paper work started sooner?
