3. Had interview and biometerics March 8, 2006 - Did not give us any reciept paper - still waiting for Green card. . Anyone know wait times for New York City? Also how do I renew AP given that we want to travel in 2 months? Thanks. Bruce
4. Tony: I know that the total processing time will be different depending on where you live, but my receipt notice was sent from Chicago. I think Bandj should have gotten his receipt notice reguardless of where he lives. My 2 yuan. 141062 It was sent to Chicago - I am under the impression that all filings are sent there now
5. Called USCIS today inquiring why we never received receipt notice for AOS/AP sent 5/21/05. We sent the applications Certified mail so we got back the slip saying they were signed for at USCIS Chicago. Immigration officer told us that while letter of receipt is normally sent 4 weeks there is now a 2-1/2 month delay. After that letter the biometrics letter would follow. Additionally after that a 90 to 120 day wait for AP and 6-7 month wait for AOS. These times don't even remotely fit into what I've seen here on CFL. Any thoughts?
6. It would be great if she (or anyone!) could at least outline the basic rules. Every time I'm watching and I think I have it figured out someone makes a play that just doesn't fit my hypothesis. 135077 three people play,2 bit the other
7. Dizhu or dou dizhu is a great game that is played all day long in most of China. I've seen it played in Sichuan, Hubei and Guangdong. I know - I've lost quite often to my two new brothers-in-law!!! It seems everyone wants new blood to take money from - especially "the rich American" ha ha ha . In any case it has similarities between bridge and poker with three people typically playing (though 4 can play but not as good) - once the game gets going 2 players gang up on 1. I don't know of any written instructions but if Nie dong is not too lazy she will write the instructions at some point. Obviously the longer you play then the real skill and finesse come out.
8. Married May 3rd and trying to get these AOS thingies done but as usual a few government instructions are confusing...... 1) Should I -485 and I-765 checks be made out to "CIS"? 2)I - 131 check made out to "Department of Homeland Security"? 3)What am I suppose to do with I-693 and I -693 supplement for a K1 4) Any suggestions of using USPS or Private courier
9. Oh yes a few more thoughts - the Guangzhou Medical Hospital Visa section was fantastic - operated by angels. Wish the hospitals in NY had such nurses. Wanted to know if we got the visa (Niedong becomes fast friends with whomever she meets) We were late one night coming to pick up our results and they stayed late, nurses called a doctor and said they would buy McDonalds for them if they came over and did blood pressure test at 7:30 at night, etc.. Shamian - Victory was better than White Swan in my opinion Station restaurant (in train car) was horrible. Loved seeing all the little Chinese babies and the attentive new parents. Good luck to all waiting
10. First of all couldn't have done it without CFL. Gives you a certain confidence going in . Anyway I'm now at Blenz while Nie Dong is picking up passport with visa in it. We return 4/16 to NYC. Yesterday Nie dong went in with 50 lbs of evidence (not really but certainly more than anyone else we saw). I waited 3 hours in freezing rain in GZ. Niedong said the people were very nice at the consulate and the VO was very pleasant. NieDong asked her is she preferred English or Chinese - VO said English was good. VO was Chinese American woman. Asked her the following 1) When did we meet? 2) How did we meet - when Nie dong said "through business" VO wanted details 3) Wanted to know when I divorced my ex. 4) When we started going out. (Nie dong had to explain that I was seperated before we started seeing each other). 5) When did Nie Dong divorce her ex (she was very excited so forgot the date at first) but was years ago so wasn't critical to this apparent line of questioning. 6) wanted to know how often I came to China (every month or so with evidence to back up) - Nie Dong said I was outside and showed my passport 7) When I come how much time did I spend with her 8) Where have we traveled together 9) Have I met her family 10) How many times 11) Wanted to see some pictures - not the huge album NieDong dragged in there but a smaller one. 12) You'ved been approved (Niedong thought that it was already decided before as is often been discussed on cfl) 13) Niedong was very excited so a few times talked too fast but when she said she found her true love VO said thats good... (oh yes baby!!!!!!) Came outside with the biggest smile!!!!! and white slip in hand.. Never asked for e-mails, phone records, I134, etc, etc Saw a few blue slips. Can't imagine if English is not your language this process must be almost impossible. Now the adventure begins......
11. Great news John and Hai Yan!!!!!! Sounds like the Delaware Valley just got lucky....
