  1. Sorry...question. I see where there's a USCIS Immigrant Fee of $165. I don't think I've paid this. Went through the DS-260 and paid all of that. But this one seems like a 'new' one?
  2. Thanks! I guess my only concern/problem then is I can't go in anyplace on the web page...that I can figure out or it will let me...to designate where we want the passport/visa sent (to CITIC in Chengdu) after the interview. According to the quote..."If the Consulate has not notified you that your case is ready to be scheduled, you will not be able to access this function through CGI Stanley." The consulate never notified us, NVC notified us. But NVC says they are the same and you would have thought that if the interview letter had been sent with an appointment date set, they would have had to speak with GUZ to set that date. I just sent an email to GUZ consulate asking them to give me a clue. After I sent the email a page comes up and says this...."If you have not yet had your visa interview, please follow the instructions we sent to you to schedule your interview. Do NOT try to schedule an interview appointment until you have been contacted directly by the U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou and instructed to do so." They never contacted us. NVC did. It will be interesting to see what their response is. I saw where someone else posted on this site and was having this same issue.
  3. We've already created an account. Already received the interview letter from NVC giving us our interview date. Never got anything from the US Consulate in GUZ stating we had an interview. When I talked with NVC about this they said it was OK because they are the same. Who would you figure I need to call? GUZ or NVC. I also read that the medical exam results would be handed to her daughter the day of the exam and then she could take them to the interview. On one pop up it says they want you to have the exam 2 weeks before the interview?? She lives in Chengdu...the exam has to be done in Guangzhou. That would mean 2 flights to GUZ? Sorry for the questions.
  4. Have spoken to NVC 4 times now. They say to go to ustraveldocs.com, login and then go to APPLICANT PROFILE and go through Step 3 to Step 7. I'm trying to set up the passport pickup location for my wife's daughter's passport/visa after the interview. Any help? Tired of calling NVC as they just tell me the same thing each time. When I go in here it doesn't say APPLICANT PROFILE anyplace!!
  5. Thanks Dan! How about this one..... "An original I-864 (or I-864EZ, if applicable) signed by the petitioner must be submitted with his or her most recent Federal income tax return." I sent the original that my wife signed when we sent it to GUZ Electronic. Do they need another another more recent? Taxes are OK as I sent in the past 3 years incuding 2013.
  6. One other question as we get ready for the interview. I sent all papers (originals and all others they are requiring) but...wife just told me that the photos that we had sent in showing her and her daughter together throughout her life...were here! Well not all of them but the ones we sent are. Will other photos showing these same things (she has a lot of them there in Chengdu) be acceptable or do they have to be the exact photos?
  7. Letter they sent us says.... An original I-864 (or I-864EZ, if applicable) signed by the petitioner must be submitted with his or her most recent Federal income tax return. If a petitioner’s or joint sponsor’s tax return was jointly filed with his/her spouse, submit evidence of the petitioner’s or joint sponsor’s individual income (e.g. W-2) or an original I-864A from his/her spouse. Sounds like the wife has to fill out another I-864 along with our Fed Tax returns to take to the interview? If we have the copies of the tax papers that show her and I filed jointly, will I need to fill out another I-864A?
  8. Sorry I just need to ask to be sure. I'm not a stupid man (most times) but I have a Chinese wife that if I would make a mistake after they travel to Guangzhou for this, I would never hear the end of it. Plus I want to do what's right and good. I don't want her going into the interview and have the officer say, "This isn't an original!" Question being...my birth cetificate and US marriage license, utility bill, cancelled check. I don't want to take the chance of losing the original birth certificate and marriage license through USPS, so can I send copies of these? Seems like if I send copies then they might say, "These are just copies. We need the originals." I'll send everything I can as you suggested tsap seui, but since I can't be there with them in GUZ, if I can send everything I have here in the US electronically (email) to my wife it will save stress and a lot of time. Thanks!
  9. Thanks everyone for the help! You are all great! One other question (as always huh)... They (GUZ) say she must have all 'originals' of all documents sent as they (NVC) say that everything that they were sent were scanned. All I have are 'copies' of everything i.e. tax papers, etc. as I do everything online. I would assume then that these will suffice? But I was required to send birth certificate, marriage license, employment letter, utility bills, copy of drivers license because I filed the I-864A also. Thanks! All of you have HAPPY FATHER'S DAYS!!!
  10. "At the end of the day, if they needed something they didn't have, you aren't going to be able to switch the blame on Dan and Randy, because they didn't say they would need it....reread your last sentence." I meant that I would be paying. Not anyone else. Thanks for your response!
  11. I know Randy sort of answered the question before when I asked if we needed to bring all original documents we sent copies of to NVC to GUZ for my wife's daughter's interview, but do we need to supply my birth certificate? Last 3 years of tax returns (which I sent to NVC)? Proof of my employment? Our marriage license from USA? I need to be sure. If they go and don't have something because I said we didn't need it you know who's gonna pay! Thanks!
  12. Is it...... Huaxia Road, Zhujiang New Town (near Exit B1 of the Zhujiang New Town subway station, Line 3 and Line 5) Tianhe District Guangzhou, China And is this location the one for Electronic visa applications? The letter we received suggests it's a specific location for electronic visa interviews. "To obtain the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in GUANGZHOU ELECTRONIC's address and contact information, visit usembassy.gov and select CHINA - MAINLAND: GUANGZHOU ELECTRONIC from the list of websites. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate in GUANGZHOU ELECTRONIC's website will include its street address and contact information." You go here and there is no GUANGZHOU ELECTRONIC's website, so I wanted to be sure. Thanks!
  13. Got the interview letter and just going to work with the date. But just to clarify, I'm assuming that every document we scanned and sent to GUZ Electronic we need to have her daughter take the original to the interview? "Please note that even though you may have provided the NVC with a copy of a document, you are still required to bring the original document to the visa interview."
  14. Thanks Dan. Problem is that the wife has been caring for her elderly parents (87 and 78) and stayed as long as she can (a little less than 6 months thus the 20th coming back) before they might question her being gone longer. So we don't want to wory about that. Another question pertaining to the visa for her daughter. She's over 21 now but her age was frozen at 20 (CSPA and spoke with USCIS/NVC and they said it was frozen) and the visa proceedings has taken forever on the governments end. She's F2A and her Priority date is December 6, 2011. Unmarried. I know this is a tough one, but when could we possibly be looking at her getting a visa? She wants to attend design college here but if it's going to take 8 years, other plans need to be made. Seriously, I don't know why this government makes it so hard for legitimate family members to come to this country. Or why when an attorney, who professes to be a seasoned immigration attorney makes a mistake that causes someone to have to go through additional years of waiting and wondering because they gave the wrong advice (K2 fiasco), can't be looked at and allowed to come over. Only mistake we made was...believing the attorney. Sorry. Had to vent a little. Have a nice day!
  15. We got the letter giving us the interview date. My question. My wife would like to go to Guangzhou with her daughter for the interview just to travel with her, not actually go to the interview of course. Wife comes back to USA July 20th. Interview is July 29th. Can the interview date be rescheduled to a date that works for both of them to go? Thanks!
  16. Thanks Dan! As it sounds it's like most other things...just wait. I'm also assuming that they'll send the letter/email to me also as I'm the agent in this case?
  17. "The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified." My wife's daughter is waiting for the interview at GZ for her visa. Anyone know how long we might expect to wait before they give us the interview date? They sent the above on 5/9/2014 Thanks!
  18. Wife will be coming back after her time in China in July. She's been invited to some very prestigious art exhibitions in France and Italy that's right about the same time (and about 6 months being gone from the USA). We thought possibly she could come back to America and then go to these exhibitions. What concerns or problems would we run into if any of her coming back and then taking off for a few weeks to these other countries? THANKS! Also, does her 10 year GC allow her to travel to these countries without visas to these countries?
  19. Weird as the form and the instructions all are current and still the instructions say...(the sponsor should have “Yes” as his or her answer to item number 8 of his or her Form I-864) Thanks Dan for all your help!
  20. Of course, NVC made a mistake and said we had not filled in certain parts of the 864 AND 864A!!! So no matter what, even though they said THEY made the mistake after I called them, we have to send in another copy. BUT...going over the form (actually the 864A instructions) it says this..... If the sponsor you are promising to make your income available to is sponsoring the the principal intending immigrant (the sponsor should have “Yes” as his or her answer to item number 8 of his or her Form I-864), you should list the intending immigrant on line “a” of Item 13 and then list on lines “b” through “f” any spouse and any and all children that appear on lines 9a through 9e of the sponsor's Form I-864. WHAT is ITEM 8????? on the 864???? I look and can not see what they're talking about. Was proof reading all the forms again before I sent them back and saw this. Thanks!!
  21. Really?! AWESOME! Wife will be happy. One question though as we're talking of 10 year green cards. Are the liimits on time spent in America/China different for someone with a 2 year green card? For example, can the wife be her a couple months, go back to CHina for a couple and come back without them going nuts because of her not being here 6 months at a time (at least)?
  22. USCIS approved my wifes 10 year green card! With all the other 'problems' we've had with all the dealings with the government in getting visas, etc. I thought for sure...ahh what the heck...not a time to be thinking negatives...THIS IS A POSITIVE!! YEHAAAAA!! CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Sent in all papers for Affidavit of Support (I-864/I-864A) for my wife's daughter. Got a reply from NVC that a number of mistakes were made. NOT! Each area they said had an issue was right on! Some they said weren't filled out (like where my wife was born, SSN#, etc.) but they were all filled out! They also said the fields that indicated the number of immigrants had to coincide with each other throughout the form (there is only one (1) immigrant) and they did! I of course called up NVC and the woman just said, "Oh it must've been someone new and they made a mistake." So we have to send them all in again even though the mistakes they said we had...we didn't. Another delay. As I said in the subject, sometimes you wonder if it will ever be done. Have a great day!!
  24. Thanks guys!! So Dan...do you use a specific program to crunch down pdf's? I used Photoshop as it allows you to create files with multiple pages under one file name, but even if I go in and crunch the size down to 72dpi, even the House Registry is going to be 3.5MB. Not to mention all the other files for birth certificate, police records. My email program doesn't like anything over a few MB.
  25. Thanks Dan! As for my wife (Petitoner) changing her name, she didn't. So I'm assuming we don't need that. But I was told that NVC requires the applicant to show that the relationship is indeed a mother daughter relationship. We sent all this when we first sent in the I-130, but thought we had to send it again. Not true? It says on the CGI Stanley site.... EVIDENCE OF RELATIONSHIP:The visa applicant is required to provide evidence of his/her relationship with the petitioner. Evidence of a relationship typically includes, but is not limited to, photographs taken with the petitioner, phone records, letters, money transmittal records, household registration, and school records.
