  1. might also look into netflix. they have a selection that's decent, and they all have english subtitles. Thank you. Actually, I'm looking for American movies with "Chinese subtitles". A while back, someone on CFL referred me to a site that had the letters "A through Z" on top of web page, and a decent selection of movies starting with that letter when searching. Sites just mentioned on this post don't seem to have this feature. Unfortunately, I lost previous bookmark when I formatted my hard drive. Thank you : )
  2. Thank you Dan, David and Tony. I look forward to it David, and Fang has actually been watching "Friends" on our computer (with subtitles), and that makes her very happy!!! (which makes me happy!!!)
  3. Forgive me all, but I've formatted my computer hard drive and lost the bookmark from a member who turned me on to a website where I may purchase American movies on DVD that have Chinese subtitles. I've searched CFL and can not find previous post! Can anyone help? Thank you all, and life is grand!!! My honey is loving South Florida and now I work on all those "little things" to make her life even better!!
  4. Thank you Roger for your nice words of encouragement. As one who has just completed the "much feared" interview process, I must admit, it really was quite easy (interview questions, that is). Yes, mountains of paperwork, e-mails, phone records, webchats, worry, but it really was quite simple and straight-forward, and I DO believe predetermined from the I-129 F initial filing. Thanks again for being so thoughtful of others and we all wish you and your special lady well. : )
  5. and while you're at it, come to Florida and take a shot at our $38 million lottery!!!! A BIG CONGRATULATIONS and thank you for the write-up for those waiting!!! : )
  6. Good luck to you both and Fang and I are wishing nice thoughts your way!!! My baby is now sleeping in her new home after a rigorous day of travel to America but we will both be watching for great news!!!!
  7. Good for you and your gal and a BIG CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Hope you two have a wonderful life together and thank you for helping others with your detailed write-up. : )

  10. Good for you two and a BIG CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! Feels good doesn't it? I'm getting ready to fly to Newark to meet my honey at her POE tonight!!!!! We both have a great day to celebrate. Fang and I wish you both well. : )
  11. If you read the instructions it seems urgent reasons are needed. We made sure we had some. However, in practice I'm not sure. That's why I started a thread in the AOS forum to see if anyone has ever been turned down. Thank you!
  12. I had thought AP was a given, provided it was applied for, and the fee (if required) was paid????? (I thought EAD was included in the price of AOS?) Are these points not accurate? I had planned on filing (after marriage) for AP so my wife could visit her family sooner than the complete AOS process took? My objective was for her to be able to visit her family sooner than what I thought to be a year to complete the AOS process. I also thought AP was as simple as "just filing". Am I wrong?? Are you saying we need "urgent" reasons to be approved for AP? Thank you!!! as always : )
  13. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! good for you two!!!! That was a close one huh? Fang and I wish you well, and November was a great month too!!!! Very nice and glad you got............ http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/4839/v268505lf8.jpg Do not mean to be Mr. Scrooge at but so far those two months kinda suck!! I'm sorry to hear that, and did not mean to gloat!!! I hope the coming months are good to you and your sweetheart!!!!!
  14. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! good for you two!!!! That was a close one huh? Fang and I wish you well, and November was a great month too!!!!
  15. A BIG Congratulations to you two!!!!!!!!!! Feels good, doesn't it?? My honey is boarding a train soon to Beijing and then flying to Newark on Monday!!!!! Life is grand and my Fang and I wish you the very best!!!!
  16. I trust and value your opinion all the time but I think it may not be possible for my gal to acquire what you and I know as originals? (embossed raised seal...brownish/yellowish tone in color?) I tend to think whatever she went to notarial office with could serve as original, and that should be available for her to bring. She also has about 2 or 3 notarial and translated copies of both birth and divorce papers. Will these suffice? We can't risk trying to ask mama to send us something down the road (can't write English) and I seriously doubt my lady would know where to go for "originals" at this late stage (she's flying here on the 17th) Your valued thoughts Jim? I expressed myself clumsily ... I think of the original (as opposed to xerox copies) Notary documents with the stamps etc as originals. (Ain't English grand?) I suppose that some may have some sort of original birth certificate issued by a hospital, if they were born in one, but I don't think that's particularly common. So what you need is a couple of original notarial documents (often white books) for important things like birth and divorce. My head hurts ... Thank you Jim and everyone. I got concerned when you said "originals" and fly back to China to get originals!!! (I think I threw Fang into a panic!!!) Yes, she has 2 notarial copies of birth and divorce (she made extras for GUZ interview) and may have original divorce papers. Thank you for clarifying. I will de-stress her now by e-mail and give her permission to slap me silly when she gets here (I guess that happens with or without permission huh?) Thanks again everyone!!! : )....December 17th...Oh my God!!!

  18. Not exactly sure but GNC had a quality pill form and a previous post spoke of Wisconsin Ginseng being desirable I think? Perhaps search online?
  19. Agreed about the stress thing. This has consumed me for the last couple of months and I'm worn out. My sweetheart keeps telling me to chill, but I figured with the diistance between us until dec 17th, this is the last time I do not have to listen to her!!!! : ) (plus I want things perfect for when she arrives!)
  20. A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to you two!!!! I started painting 3 months ago and haven't stopped since....if it moves...paint it...if not...throw it out....Tossed a lot of trash (and nice stuff too!!!) ...a lot of consolidating...a lot of new shelving....did i mention painting? I've got a crew coming in this weekend for a couple of hours to clean EVERYTHING (and my house is pretty clean). I want shiny clean. A nice, new-looking house for the start of our new lives!!!! Good luck to you two again and stay in touch. A Florida gathering would be great!!!
  21. Thank you both. Yes Fang and I are thrilled!!!! I am aware of stumbling blocks and we are both comfortable that we are strong enough, and love each other enough, to endure. I have played "devils advocate" for the last 13 months and presented all potential problems. She is an amazing girl with such a positive attitude about everything. Americans can learn a thing or two (or a thousand!) from her!!! Is it absolutely necessary to have originals of birth certificate and divorce papers for interview? Not sure if mama is gonna love parting with the birth certificate or anything else "original"? Good question Michael!! Do we get the original documents back from the I-129F if we asked for them back?? Also when?? I'm going to read through all of the links that Dan was kind enough to post and try put together a "short" and "long" list of required documents. Too fried right now though. Also a bit confused as to the timing and her name to be used or suggested (married or maiden) for SSN, EAD, AOS and AP? (AP...maiden to match visa for re-entry? Silly me for thinking things became easier! : )

  23. My lovely Fang will be arriving in Florida December 17th (is this not cool or what???) and she and I are preparing a list of important documents we will need for AOS and other filings. She knows to hand carry all on the plane!!! I'm assuming copies (not necessary to have originals?) and notarial translations of all: birth certificate, divorce papers, all of my kitchen sink remains, x-rays, I-94 she receives on the plane, extra passport photos, and entire contents of envelope when Visa was picked up at post office in GUZ? Have we forgotten anything or is there a formal list of items that we will need for AOS, EAD, AP and anything else that we could, can, may, may not, possibly, not possibly encounter???? As usual, I do not mind over-kill!!! Thank you all and boy do I have a clean house!!!!...on to the patio now.... : )
  24. Thanks. We just sent in AOS/EAD/AP yesterday so it'll be awhile before we have to worry about this. But it's never too early to start being reminded right. ....and never too early to start worrying!!!! Good luck to you two!!!!
  25. CONGRATULATIONS to the two of you!!!!!!!!!!! You MUST be thrilled, and know that we are ALL so happy for you both!!!!!! Nicer dinner in GUZ???? Isn't that an oxy-moron? I guess I just couldn't find a good restaurant?
