    Hello

    Glad you're here!
  2. My wife (then girlfriend) visited the US once before marriage on a B-2 visa. After returning from America, my wife and I were married in Jingjing's hometown. Jingjing was able to get two more visits to America on a B-2 visa after being married - see timeline below. In my opinion, the most important thing to show when applying for a B-2 visa is to prove that the applicant will indeed return to China (obey the terms of her visa). My wife had a considerable amount of assets that were frozen (Citic Bank) until her return to China - she had strong employment ties, as well as family ties. I also had a very personal letter from someone in the federal government, which helped out greatly. After successfully returning to China - following B-2 attempts were easy for us. My wife was able to apply without the need of an interview. If you have any questions, drop me a PM or leave them here. I have to go to work, but can check back this afternoon when I get home. Good luck.
  3. My wife was able to give an EOR letter and some financial documents to a consulate worker before her actual interview. The question, however, is "Did the VO have enough time to look over them?" I'm also uncertain that Jingjing's opportunity to provide last minute documentation is available to everyone. Although this boat has already passed for you, for the others who will read this, it is better to provide supporting documents when submitting your initial petition. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39544&st=45&p=527202entry527202
  4. We've found that the thermal underwear in China is much better than what you'd typically find in the States. My wife brought a pair with her.
  5. One visit prior to marriage - two visits after marriage. Obeying the terms of your first B-2 make consecutive B-2 attempts a cake-walk. Proving that the wife would return to China, the first time around was the most important thing. During her second and third B-2 attempts, they didn't even make Jingjing interview (Beijing). She simply rode the train up to Beijing and gave her finger prints, left her passport, and turned in her paperwork. That was it - passport w/ visa was mailed back to her via EMS.
  6. Yeah, I was just messing around.
  7. Oh, crap! You mean they can't vote? Hope this doesn't cause Jingjing any issues.

  10. I'm glad your tests came back negative. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
  11. That stinks. It's a bummer that they are ending the petitioner hour.
  12. General information about waiting times from their website http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/iv_faqs.html#A1
  13. That's great news! Finally!
  14. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. When I was in Guangzhou, the VO gave me a copy of the criteria they use to determine domicile has been met. http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/86988.pdf For folks like us (people who have lived in China for an extended period of time) domicile is a big issue prove. Jingjing and I included the following items to help prove my US domicile. Domicile Documents 1. Vanguard Retirement Account ¨C Wife primary beneficiary 2. Statement of Checking Acct (credit union) ¨C One per year 2007-09 Wife joint-owner 3. Sharebuilder Investment portfolio 4. Capital One credit card statement ¨C One month 5. My driver's license 6. My updated resume 7. Monster.com contacts requesting interviews after I returned to the States. I printed out three emails. These were legitimate contacts from people I would be interested in working for. They weren't for show. 8. Pictures of the apartment where we would be staying. 9. Voter registration card I've included a bunch of other stuff, which you can find here. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39544&view=findpost&p=536147 Again, I probably over-killed the issue, but it worked nonetheless.
  16. From their website http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/iv_faqs.html#I2
  17. Whatever you send, I'd recommend sending it registered letter. Sending it via Chinese snail mail on its own is completely unreliable. Several pieces of mail that we sent within China without first registering, were either delayed for a long period of time, or more common, never showed up to where we sent it. I would second Dan's advice above as we never lost a piece of registered mail.
  18. My wife and I fly Continental. Each seat has their own screen (hundreds of movies, shows, and tunes) and power outlets in each row.
  19. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39043&view=findpost&p=520652 The link above lists everything we submitted with our I-130 petition in Beijing. You might want to browse through that thread. The link below lists everything we took to Guangzhou during her interview. The entire thread is a summary of our experience in Guangzhou. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39544&view=findpost&p=536147 If possible, I would try to frontload your I-130 petition with as much useful infomration as possible. You might want to do some searching on this site for "EOR Letter" and include that when turning in your I-130 petition. To be honest, submitting the I-130 in Beijing was a piece of cake. They did take copies of everything we submitted but required first to see the originals, this included our notarized documents, passports, etc. Let me know if I can help further. EDIT: I'm adding a link to a similar thread the OP started http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42802&st=0&gopid=567264entry567264

  21. I asked a VO this question (why can't we interview together) when I went to ACH. His reply was almost verbatim to the linked quote above.
  22. She will file form ar-11. If a sponsor moves then they will need to file form i-865.
